I have a FitBit Charge HR which I use to track Heart Rate. I just focus on minutes, because I use an app on my iPhone. But I also use the trail markers (which are every 1/4 miles) on the crushed granite trail I jog at as well. I am not really focusing on speed, I know that will come later, but more on actually doing the time. I think once I get to a 30 minute run, I can do that and just start focusing more on speed, or covering more distance in 30 minutes. If that makes sense.

Well after my run I looked at my totals on my fitbit as well as my treadmill (it has my weight programmed into it but I know they aren't usually very accurate), fitbit says 293 and treadmill said I think 248, so I went with the interval number. So I guess my problem is solved, but I'm not sure how to delete this post...lol

Hi everyone! I've started the C25K a million times and never finished but recently decided to start back up and thankfully I'm in decent enough shape that I decided to start on week 4 and have done well (also this time I have a treadmill, well see how this changes once I start venturing outside). My question is that in the past I tracked my runs by putting in the individual minutes so like 16 minutes at 5.0, 10 at 3.0, etc., but this time around I see that there's an option that says something like intervals of running/walking less than 6.0. I looked at the difference from today's run and the interval one says I burned 298 calories, while putting in the individual minutes adds up to 187. That's a big difference! I imagine that since this kind of running is like HIIT training it might burn more calories than if you walked for 10 minutes straight and then ran for 16 minutes straight later, but I'm not sure if it's really 111 calories more. How do you guys track?
