Great job consistently improving. A little at a time.

I haven't made too much headway improving my time, but I am happy to be consistently running 2-3 times a week. Just did a 5k yesterday, my slowest one in a while but I am okay with that because I have a head cold, I'm just happy I went and did it and ran the whole way.

I hope to get back on the improvement trend, when the weather gets a little bettter, I am going to try to add a minute or two each week to increase my distance.

I am in the Trick or Treat viirtual 5k. Is anyone on it too? I had to walk because of some present situation and it took me 60minutes and 55seconds to walk the 5k. I did it!

I discovered there's a free 5K run every Saturday not too far from me! I've registered for that so hopefully I should be able to update my time fairly regularly.

Oops, I totally forgot to post here! I didn't run a full 5k in the first week of the month, but I did on Monday, and my time was 39:10! Not a speed demon by any means, but a full 4 minutes faster than the 5k I ran in August.

I'm running an actual (official, timed) 5k on Saturday and will use that time for my second week.

Oh, I did make a mistake, I multiplied the average time by miles instead of kilometers. Never was very good at math. So your 5k time is 49:02, still a great job on building distance!

Everyone should be very proud of completing the challenge. Now onto next week. Enter your times by Sunday-ish and I will update. Whether you are going for improvement or consistency, the key is to continue and stick with it.

Turns out I actually did 6.83K on Wednesday. I was too sore to try again on the weekend so I guess I'm stuck with over an hour.
At least I will definitely beat that next time, that's what I keep telling myself.
So how often are we logging times? Once a week? Once a month?

Great job everyone! I did my 5k this morning in 36:24. I did run most of it, there was one hill that I had to walk up part of it.

I did my first 5K this weekend. I finished in 41:48. I admit that I had to walk quite a bit because the humidity was so thick and the course was not quite as flat as where I normally train. By the way, I started training on a course with hills yesterday! I'm not over the moon with my time, but I know it will get better with time. My husband and I have another 5K scheduled for Oct 13th. I'm hoping for improvement by then. emoticon

Okay, I did my 5k this morning with some running and some walking. Time was 48:46. Not as fast as I could do a year ago but then I'm starting over so I'll take it. I wasnt really fast a year ago anyway, with best time around 37 minutes. But that's okay.

Since I am not yet a good runner, I decided to start the month with a trial run. I did a walk/jog 5K this morning and it took me 58mins. I used the Spark Tracker to track my run. I hope to try it again later in the week. I am so excited!!!

Great! Just post your time for covering a 5k distance that you do between 9/1 and 9/8. You can walk, run or combination, you can do it on a treadmill, on a trail or on a road. I am actually running a 5k race on 9/8 so I plan to use my time for that race. I think someone else said they were in a race as well. But you do not have to be signed up for a race, just time it using a watch, a stopwatch or your smart phone. The map my route phone app is neat, it will show your distance, the time and elevation.

Great, have a few more people. Absolutely, walk, walk/run, run/walk, run - whatever week you are on, doesn't matter how much walking you have to do, it is great to participate and I find if I plan to report my time, I will do it.

FEMISLIM don't worry about it. What you can't run you can walk. It doesn't matter. I'm just starting back to running again after not doing it for several months because of heat and health issues so I can run ab out a mile of it but will also be doing a lot of walking. It's a fun challenge regardless of how you approach it.

Okay great, I'll track when you submit your times. Walking is fine, remember you want to compare your time with your prior time(s), not someone else's time. Then you will see your progression. First week of Sept will be your baseline, then each week or each month you'll see how you are progressing. I'll try to track weekly if most want to submit weekly times.

In the first week of September, 1st through 8th, run or run/walk a 5K distance and post your results. You can do this regardless of which week you are in, even if you are just starting out, just cover the 5K distance and post your time by September 9th. You don't have to sign up for a race, just respond that you will do it and then respond with your time after you run your Virtual 5K. You can use map your run if you need help finding a 5K distance in your area.
