After so many times of starting and stopping the program I actually finished it!!! I don't have an actual 5K coming up anywhere nearby me so I decided I'm going to start the program over again from Week 1 and try to increase my time. I started it yesterday and I felt great!!!

I did my first 5k yesterday (I did a virtual one and ran at home).

It was a run/walk one. I was sedentary in June so I am happy I was able to do it. It took me 50 Minutes. It was slow but I am at about 277 so not bad for a fat girl.

Next I will improve my time. Maybe soon I can do a real one.

I ran my first 5k today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am officially a graduate of this program! My time was unofficially 35 minutes (it was not a times event). I am really proud of myself.

But now what?? Bridge to 10k? Increase my speed on a 5k? What to do...

Mom3, I am so sorry about your race. BUT YOU STILL ROCKED IT! What an awesome time!!!!!

I completed the program today!!!

On a disappointing note.... I did my first 5K run this morning and I took the wrong route in the race and had to DQ myself. I was 400 meters short of 5K and my time was 30:50 so I am positive I would have achieved my goal of running it in 35 minutes or less.

So, it wasn't how I thought it would go but after shedding a few tears I guess I can say that I did officially complete the program and will just have to enter another 5K race.

My life exploded after my first 5K, so I did not have a chance to come post that I completed it. Less than 36 minutes. But they did not officially time anyone after the first 50 people crossed the line, and apparently I was further than 50 back in the pack. Anyway, I did complete my first 5K on 9/10. I also walked a 5K with my mom this past Sunday. I took a week off from running after my first 5K, and started back up this morning. Ran 3.1 miles in 35:46. I guess I've officially graduated.

Finished! My final run for week 9 was awful, had to fight for each lap, but did 5k in 45:40, same time as the first day of week 9 so I was surprised it wasn't worse. I want to train up to a 10k and probably hold at that distance. Right now, no interest in half-marathons or higher. So, going to slowly add in more running days to bring my pre-training levels up to what's recommended for the 10k program I want to do.

I can't believe I'm actually a runner now! I've already signed up for my first 5K - this Saturday!

I FINISHED... actually on sunday ..

and like off, i think I am just going to keep adding a little more time, or just work on distance. there is a 5k here in the future that I am thinking about doing.

i am going to run tonight i guess. but we are under a heat advisary so i may split it up with some walking time, and just take more time like a hour insead of 40 min.

I completed C25k this morning. I ran 2.5 miles in 30:33. I will spend the next 2 weeks adding distance, since I have to get up to 3 miles before 9/4, which is my first 5k. This is so exciting!

Ok, I haven't done it yet, but I officially signed up for my first 5K race!! It is just over 3 weeks away, and it is right after I am scheduled to complete the C25K program. I completed week 6 today, and start week 7 this Saturday. So as long as I continue at this pace, I will be ready for the race!! I'm so excited! And I'll be back with my results after the 10th!

I finished the program 2 weeks ago and tried to move on to Bridge to 10k, but just didn't feel quite ready yet. So, I am back on C25K. Started over with week 1, day 1 and am going to work on running a little faster than I did the first time around. :o)

I finished the program last week. I've decided to keep running to work on my endurance & speed. I've been quiet here on Spark People, but I've been blogging about my experiences on my blog. http://beyourownadventure.wordpress.com/20
11/08/05/couch-to-5k-week-9/ Because the program is called Couch to 5K, I was a bit shocked when I finally GPSed my route and found that I was only running 3.26K in 30 minutes. It was discouraging, but I'm also amazed & excited that I am running for 30 minutes at a time!

I did a walk/jog for my first 5K this past Sunday (See Jane Run, Seattle) and finished in 46:32. I was trying for under 45:00, but now I have a baseline to go off of. I was also only halfway through Week 5 (of 9) and had taken the previous three days off, so it wasn't bad, all things considered.

And I woke up Monday morning to my runner boyfriend *still* telling me how proud he is. :)

Finished in 44:18. Thought for sure while I was going that my time was minutes better than that. The real kicker... This is the EXACT time I put in for my last race in May. 44:18. How is that even possible?
