I want to do the podcast for WK2 on the treadmill. Is it possible to do this effectively on the treadmill? I don't use it often enough to remember. If I set it at a low level can I control if I'm walking versus running?

I started W2D1 today--and did it outside for the first time with my new, cheap running/stopwatch--it felt great--much better than on a treadmill--but I have to say--it was a little challenging...but made it through! Yay! Am doing ST everyday as well...and doing just my regular walk/jogs on every other day (no timing involved)...

First time in week2. The hardest part is getting used to the extra 30 seconds mentally, I mean, learning how long that is. Running it is okay, as long as the mind's prepared :)

I've been on this team for awhile now and never really got off the ground. I'm now going to start W2D1 tonight. Week 1 was relatively easy looking forward to a great second week.

Week 2 Day 1 sort of complete. On the treadmill at the gym now the weather is getting worse. Only joined this week so it's all new. Today was my 3rd session. Did 35 minutes on the treadmill and that included all seven 2 minute runs but only the first three were the proper 1 minute interval between. Rest were a bit longer. It varied really. When I started off I thought I would try for 3. Never thought I would manage 7 times. Ace. I know I can do it now, just have to get those walking intervals down. Practice, practice, practice.

Just did W2D1 today. Was worried since I can never seem to do run for any length of time, but though it seemed long (what a difference 30 seconds makes!) I didn't struggle as much as I thought I would. Woohoo! It feels good!

I did W2D1 yesterday! My legs are sore today! I had kind of a long break since finally finishing W1. (it took me a few repeats before I was able to do it.) Between it being so HOT and me being so tired with back-to-school, it's been almost a month. Week 2 seemed easier to me, though, even with the long break!

Graduated from week one and did W2D1 today. Yay! The run tonight seemed a lot harder than last week, but I was thinking maybe that is because I went at night instead of the morning like I usually do. Opinions?

I'm trying D2 tomorrow since I want to get back on a MWF plan and the gym was closed yesterday. I think I can manage two days in a row.

DAVISMDAWN the walk is intended for recovery. I think if you haven't caught your breath by the end of the walking interval you should repeat the week. Otherwise I'd say go ahead and try the next week. If it doesn't feel right you can always go back.

I too had an ah ha moment yesterday. I was jogging (longer than usual I might add) and I was looking around at my surroundings. I came to realize that I wasn't paying much attention to the fact that I was jogging. No paying attention to the time, and no gasping through the set. It felt great however, I'm sure that will all change when I tackle week 3.

I'm on W2D2 and I still love it! The pace isn't fast but I'm learning endurance and am breathing better. I'm just focused on being able to do the next longer running stretches and not worried about time. I had a crazy ah ha moment running this morning where I felt actually better breathing when I was running then walking! That was just wierd!! :) Can't wait to keep going on the program! It's really working!

I did W2D3 Thursday night and I felt pretty good but this morning my right achilles tendon was aching and I'm a little sore behind my knees. I think it's a combination of not stretching enough and really needing to get better shoes. emoticon I was hoping to wait until payday but I think I gotta bite the bullet and pay the money.

I just did W2D3, but I think I'm going to do this week again. I was sooooo slow! And I had shin splints again, so I'm going to work on stretching more and keeping an eye on my stride.

Great job tackling week 2! I too was dissappointed in the beginning but I have come to realize that I should be focusing on pace and form and not time. I feel that time will come with the training. My biggest obstacle is the hills in the neighborhood.
I think you will find new shoes makes all the difference. It certainly did for me. I love them and I can't think about the idea of going back to my old ones. LOL.

I did the first day of week two tonight. It went well. I was a little disappointed to see that I didn't do the run faster but then I was like, duh, I am running based on time, not distance! That's ok. I thought it would be really hard for me but it's going much better than I ever thought it would.

1) My Enell bra rocks the house. It is the best bra ever for a big-chested girl to work out with.

2) Going to break in my new running shoes (well, at least use them before running outside in them with no turning back) tomorrow at work. Hoping they remain as comfy as they were in the store. Yeah!

I finished w2d2(repeated the week) and it is a challenge with the hills in my neighborhood. However, my thoughts are that if I'm able to take on the hills the straight track will be a breeze. I'm still not able to run all the way up but everyday I challenge myself. It also takes longer to recover so I extend the recovery time once I run up the hill. One day (probably not until week 9, LOL) I will make it all the way up in one shot.

W2D3 scheduled for tomorrow! Looking forward to seeing if it goes as well as W2D2. And I've got an Ipod again.... so that will help even more! W3D1 may have to be postponed though... as I'm meeting with a group trainer at the Y on Wednesday...and I'm sure I wouldn't be able to survive both!

Just finish w2d3 tonight. It was better than the rest. May run this one again for a day or two, to be on the safe side. But it was great out there tonight.

Hi all:) I did W2D1 last night and it went really well. I was surprised! It's good to see others running right around the same part of the program. Good work!

I would agree that shoes make the difference. I felt less sore after I bought better shoes for day two's run. I will also admitted that the improved stretching routine helped as well.
