Congrats to everyone for doing such a great job!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I just completed W2D2. Believe it or not, I did the run after I worked out on the elliptical machine and walked 2 miles. For me, the longer I warmup, the more energy I have for the run.

I added an additional straight run again after the C25K session. Today I ran 6 minutes and could have gone more. 6 minutes was the goal!!! YEA ME!

(Oh, my speed is rather slow though. I plan to work on my speed after I build up some endurance.)

FindingMe81-I did the same walk 90 seconds, run 90 seconds on D1. I couldn't find my data cable to download the podcast so I just did it on my pedometer's stop watch.

I just realized today when I did D2 with the podcast that I messed up lol

Wha-hoo! Week 2 Day 3 is DONE! This run I really got my workout. I had to push my son in the jogging stroller and man- when I hit some of the hills on my trail, I was dripping sweat. Burned 499 calories according to my HRM. I feel fantastic! And can't wait for Week 3!

Great job SATRADER. I have been running up hill's as well. It is tough, but I think it will make me stronger in the long run!

You go MOMMANURSE34! We are here running with ya!

FINDINGME81- Only 90sec. walks? Wow! I don't know if I could do that yet! Super job!

SOON2BEMCKEE- I get up really early and just get it done. Between taking care of my little one and working 45-50 hour weeks, it's really the only way to get it in. You can do it! Hang in there!

EVERYONE IS DOING GREAT! SEE YOU IN WEEK 3!!!!

Did w2d2 today and it was hard, mostly because of the humidity and the fact that I was running a lot of hills. But I did it! Took my dog with me and he did great too.

I have run 2 days in a row before (when I was traveling for work and knew that I wouldn't be able to get a run in on my normal day) and it was fine. Didn't feel any more sore or tired. I think as long as it's the exception and not the rule, it's fine.

I started Week 2 today just like I had planned and when I got halfway through I realized that instead of alternating 90 seconds running and 2 minutes walking, I was doing 90 seconds of each...I am happy that I am progressing so fast as I didnt even think I was going to make it past Week 1.....and SOON2BE, I would say do it if it feels ok but dont push yourself to hard and get an injury!

I had the same problem with the leg cramps and was given the suggestion to up my potassium intake and it has helped so much...no more leg pains! So I would recommend trying the same thing and seeing if it helps you!

So I am starting week 2 today and I am a little nervous...I added a few days to week 1 because I didn't feel like I was ready to move on.

I also started taking a potassium supplement to help with the leg cramps that I was getting. It seems to be working as I have not experienced them again, thank goodness!

So week 2 here I go!

Well I'm redoing week 2 this week. I started it last Monday but due to travel and bad weather, I had to skip a couple days.

So I started over this Monday. Again had weather issues Monday but ran inside (on the elliptical which isn't quite the same but it was all I had). Tomorrow I plan to get out early and do w2d2.

On another blog I read where everyone was having fun doing the running and really enjoying it. I'm not there yet but maybe I will be once I can start doing this consistently.

Good luck and good job to everyone!

-Sarah

W2D1 EPIC FAILURE!!!! 5 minute warm up..stretched...ran/walked 2 intervals and by then had shin splints so bad I had to stop and sit on someone's steps. I has nearly 1 mile from home and by the time I did get home I was nearly in tears. I don't know why this happened..the first week I felt awesome. I was so excited to do the program today, and now I'm ready to give up. emoticon

Week 2 Day 2 DONE! I have to admit I was a bit discouraged after my first run this week. Those 90 second runs just about killed me. Today I was surprised at how easy it was. Quite the improvement. I am really excited for Day 3... Wednesday can't come fast enough!

Way to go CONDZMOMOFJJQ! 5 minute run? That is awesome! I don't think I'd be able to do that yet, LOL.

Hang in there KCFLUTES. Day 1 was so rough for me too- but day 2 is easier.

I agree HOTZIZI! This program is awesome! We'll be running that 5K in no time!

Good luck CRAFTYBRITCHES- I am sure you will do great if you choose to move onto week 3. Uphill can really kill you- so I would give week 3 a try. :)

Completed W2D1 today. I felt great during and after session. I actually slowed my speed a little on the first interval to get a feel for the program but I was fine.

After the intervals I felt like running so I ran for 5 minutes without stopping just because I felt good. I believe I could have run longer but I stopped myself so that I wouldn't be burnt out for the rest of the week.

Super proud of myself right now!!

Did W2D3 today and I don't know if I should move on or not. My first run was rough but after that all other intervals I did fine. My last run was AWFUL but it is uphill, so that is a factor.

I'm debating between repeating the W2 intervals Weds/Fri or just moving on to W3 Weds and see how it goes.

W2D3 finished this morning, bright and early at 6:45am, before it hit 100 degrees later on. Went to the local track, which I have decided is one of the best places to run because you can actually measure how far you're getting on each interval and feel great about it! Also had a very nice view of a very toned shirtless athlete who just happened to be running at the same time--yet another reason to get up and do C25K! On to Monday and week 3 :)

Week 2 Day 3 completed! It definitely felt easier, until the last 90 second jog part. But still do-able! Like others, I'm a little nervous to jump from 90 seconds of jogging up to 3 minutes...but here we go! Moving on to week 3 on Monday!

I finished Week2 today!! I actually did 4 days this week with one day in between each session!

Today--1.5 miles in 16 minutes! I think that's an 11 minute mile! I don't know---is that good??

Feet, ankles, shins, calves, breathing----everything felt good at the end. I really had to push very hard to do it all-so, I am going to repeat Week 2 at least part of next week. I don't feel like I have the stamina yet to do the running that Week 3 requires. After all---2 weeks ago, my butt was sitting on the couch!

DNJEN471---scroll down this page and you will see how I just knew I was going to die---but I'm stillhere and it was easier each time.

KNITSTUFF--good luck!!! I'll be here with you next week!

now hear this....... I DID, IT I DID IT, I DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ......and I DID NOT DIE.... in fact I feel pretty good, winded, but goooooooddddd!!!!!

1.36 miles in exactly 2o min. Soomeone else please do mpm because I don't know how and right now, I don't care, but the imnportant thing to me is I DID IT!!!!!!!!!

I barely made it through D1, so this is a surprise to me!!!! I'll admit oe thing ---- I didn't make it through the first running interval---I probably only did 45 secs of it, because it is at the top of my driveway and google maps said it is a 52% angle---so who cares------the 2nd and 3rd running interval were easy and the 2 minute walks were a breeze.

I COULD NOT HAVE DONE IT WIHTOUT YOU GUYS, I really couldn't!!!!
thank you soooo much!!! i am too tired for an emoticon, but i am grinning ear to ear!!!

Week 2 day 2 finished! I'm loving it.. Taking a day of inbetween runs to do something else (walking for me) really makes a difference in my interest and success in the runs. On previous attempts to become a better runner, I thought I had to run every day. Now I realize that I feel better if I take a day inbetween to do something else. I'm excited for day 3!

No, no, no, I'm not CRAZY! I mean doing the intervals for 30 minutes! Usually 90 sec running, 2 min walking intervals for 20 minutes but I did it for 30 minutes instead. I wouldn't be posting right now if I'd run 30 minutes, I would be dead! emoticon
