TREEFAE03, I'm confused. Your are on Week 2 and you are doing 30 MINUTE intervals?????? I thought Week 2 has 90 SECOND intervals! I can barely do those and you're doing 30 minutes on Week2?????

Just walked (crawled?) in the door from W2D2 and I am SO PUMPED! Ran after work for the first time because I couldn't get it in this morning. Extended the intervals to 30 minutes instead of 20 because I felt like it wasn't long enough, and then did a 3min 15 second run back to my car from the point my intervals finished because I thought 'Can I do this? YES I CAN!' Sooo proud right now!! Don't know how I'll feel tomorrow morning, but right now I feel awesome! Let's keep running ladies!

Blaaaa . . . Just did a 4th day at week 2. Still rough on the last couple runs. I adjusted my form, apparently I have been landing on my heels, which can cause injury. The worst part was when I started this whole program I was running the correct way and changed cause it felt wrong lol. So now I am back to running the right way, and boy can I feel the burn so much better LOL. Needless to say though I will probably be on this week for a few more days, then its off to Week 3.

Happy Running!

FAB464-Besides having a tough time this morning, I was tired and sluggish all day. I'm curious to see how day 2 goes for you. Post tomorrow(or when you do it) so we can compare. I am doing day 2 on Friday.

Survived W2D2 today. Still way too hot to run outside, so I'm sticking to my treadmill for now. Since I'm doing a 5k in October, I know eventually I'll have to run outside so I am already looking at routes I can run near my house.

Woo! I finished W2D1 last night. I felt really good at the beginning, but that last 90 second running segment felt like 3 minutes. haha

Question for all of you-
On the guide for the running, it says 5 minute warm up and then the alternating running/walking for a total of 20 minutes.

Do you count the 5 minute warm up in the 20 minute total?

I was doing that for week 1, but thought last night as I was running that I may have misunderstood, so I 20 minutes on top of the warm up. It felt like a better workout, so that is probably how it is supposed to go.. just wondering how you all interpreted it.

Re-started Week 2 yesterday after missing some days of running. I'm a week behind my original schedule but this time around I'm not focusing on how fast I can finish the program. I am focusing on completing the entire program, no matter how long it takes.

Good morning! I made it through W2D1 and I messed up at first. I made my own playlist to cue me when to walk and run and the walk cues were too quiet. During my first run interval I was just DYING and I felt like my 90 seconds were never going to end, so I look at my ipod and I had been running for 3 minutes! I only got 30 seconds to recover before the next run interval but I was determined to stay on track so I started running again after a 30 second walk interval. I survived it, but it was rough. Hoping W2D2 is easier.. with a FIXED playlist!

This is why I love SP--we each have our own cheerleading section!!!! I am not quitting! We are all runners!!!! (lol)!

I took a very long walk this afternoon and found myself jogging a little. I was really tired this morning and I wonder if that is why I had a hard time. All of my walking/running routes are pretty hilly---no flat land in the Smoky Mtns!

Since school is starting in 2 weeks, I am going to get a treadmill for really early mornings and for when the days get short.

I am so thankful for all you guys! I love that some of us are going slow and the quick guys are giving us great advice!!

emoticon Have you all noticed that 90 minutes of jogging is like running 2 longggggg city blocks. I was shocked when I was at the park this morning and SAW how far I ran and still lived LOL.

I was so addicted to the out of breathe and dripping sweat that I went hiking this morning and then jogging on city blocks and then went to work LOL

I felt the same way! I thought it was because of the high temps and the humidity though. emoticon I'm hoping that by repeating week 2 that I'll really be ready to go on to week 3. I've even thought about on the 3rd day adding an extra 90 second run in, Either way, YAY for us not giving up! emoticon emoticon

It is always nice to know that we are not alone, in struggles and in success. With everything new, there is going to be change and going to be individuality. What works for some may not always work for everyone. It's about not giving up, but adapting to make it work for us and finding the support we need to keep our motivation high to move forward. We may not be moving to week 3 yet, but we are still moving!

Oh my goodness!!! I just finished W2D1! Barely!! You are right Cadyann1--90 sec. is a lot longer!!! I'm with you the_optimist---I may be on week2 forever. I didn't make it through the first 90 sec of running, but I did the 2 and barely made the 3rd. it wasn't my breathing--it was the muscles in the back of my lower leg that hurt--sort of an ache-but not a burn. So I fast walked longer to help make up for it. S--L--OOOOOOO----WWWWW for me!!

Completed W2D1 a few hours ago! I had thunderstorms derailed my schedule yesterday, so I had two days of just walking between week 1 and 2.

I have to say, somehow 90 seconds is longer than I thought. It does start out easier and, by the end, I'm just focused on being DONE. I'm not really getting sore, though -- does anyone else have this "problem"? Does this mean it's probably just my breathing/heart rate that can't keep up at the moment? I'm afraid this means I'm not building any muscle.

I keep looking at W3, which a lot of you are facing, and hoping I feel more optimistic after two more days of W2 runs! I promise I'll give it a try, though!

I started W2D1 yesterday. Got new running shoes after being fitted at a specialty store (yay!). I am still doing my program on a treadmill, as it's incredibly hot outside and I'd probably pass out if I made an attempt to run out there. I got through all of the 90 second runs, but I did notice that I was able to go a bit faster for the first couple and I had slowed down for the last few.

I did day 2 of week 2 yesterday and was extremely frustrated as I could barely manage the 90sec runs. I felt as if I would stay on week 2 for ever!!!

But this morning I thought: so what?
Even if I am staying on week 2 for ever - and somehow I think 'for ever' may only be a couple of weeks - I am running, and that's the main thing.

So I will just continue with week 2 until ... well, we'll see emoticon

Completed Day 3 of Week 2 last night. I know I'm not ready to move on. It's been a stressful week plus the temps during the day have been either close to 100, give or take a few degrees. Also, it's rained several days this week. So, all of these factors combined have not made this an easy week.

Weird that I'm actually doing this. Not giving up. Not passing out. Not dying.

Finished four days of week 1 and three days of week 2. Am I ready to move to week 3 already? I truly cannot imagine running for three whole minutes in a row. I'll do my best on Tuesday.

thanks again to everyone for the motivating support. See you in week 3!!!!

@BARECCA82 my advise would be to slow down. It's best to get your breathing under control and then speed can come later. The best advise I got when I started was if you can run and sign at the same time it's a good pace for you. Good Luck!

Hey all, so I've done the second run of the second week and I'm finding that I'm losing my breath faster than being tired. Anyone got some suggestions on breathing while running? I find that I take deep breaths when I run but maybe I should take shorter, faster breaths? Any advice is welcome!! :)

Keep up all the great work everyone! emoticon

hello all

did day 3 of week two -- everyone is so right - the second day is easier than the first. Now if I could just run faster than 4 mph....

Audrey, that sucks all the way around! I feel for you! Maybe you can get some exercise in tomorrow. I know even when the last thing I feel like doing is exercising but I do anyway I feel a lot better. But we are all different.

Keep your chin up!

TOM is here and it is wrecking my week. I didn't work out last night because I just felt so icky, bloated, and had major cramps. Today I still feel super wiped out and icky and I found out I have to stay late at work so I think it's safe to say that by the time I get home I honestly will not be in the mood to get a work out in. Not happy at all right now.
