I did Week 2 Day 2 last night - and I had to FIGHT for it! (W2D1 was super easy!). Probably the difference between a weekend versus a weeknight (after work).

After a minor blunder (forgot to do laundry Sunday, had NO clothes to work out in Monday), I bounced back today for C25K W2D1! Set a new record pace for this round of C25K and improved over last week's best pace by 50 seconds per mile!

I restarted the C25k program again and just started Week 2 this week :) It was so refreshing- I was worried I wasn't ready, but found it much easier than anticipated!

Looking forward to my Day 2 run tomorrow a.m. and feel confident I'll be moving to Week 3 by Tuesday :)

W2D1 is done! My old running partner who I did the program with last time joined up with me to start day Week 2, and the run was way better. The time flew by and despite battling the sniffles from a cold, the run was much easier.

Completed W2D1 yesterday. I had company for the last two weeks so it took me about 2 1/2 weeks to get through week 1! Yesterday went well and I am more comfortable running. Still need to work on my form, I am tensing my shoulders too much and they really ache, but it is getting better. I have researched a few 5K's in the area and may try to do one in September. I will give it a couple weeks before I sign up though, not sure how committed I am to running.

I did W2D1 on Tuesday-it was a HUGE struggle but I made it! I have a bad habit of being too comfortable and not wanting to push myself, which is exactly what got me into the mess I'm in. Soooo many times Tuesday night, I wanted to give up and say, "You know, I'll do better next time." But I kept pushing and pushing and I'm proud to say that I ran when I was supposed to!

D1W2 of C25k. I did 2.36 miles in 35 minutes. It was tough & I was distracted, but I did it. I haven't been training for 2 weeks. It was well needed & finally could fit it in. Saturday is day 2 for me.

Started week 2 last night with a fabulous run. I really didn't feel like doing it, but forced myself on that treadmill and very happy I did. I didn't think I'd "be ready" for week 2, but I surprised myself!

I finished Week 2 Day 2 yesterday. Yes, that extra 30 seconds of running is kicking my butt. Its mostly the breathing for me. I'm too winded for the last 15 seconds or so so I'm stopping early. I'm thinking that I want to do the week 2 run and follow it up with a week 1 run section for extra practice. I want to feel comfortable with this before I move to week 3. Any thoughts?

Completed week 2 day 2 yesterday. It's been really hard for some reason... even though I've done it before. Possibly because I'm lugging around a bunch of extra weight and I've had all these problems with my foot and my bad knee has got used to no exercise again. But the way to fix all those things (except the foot?) is to stick with the regular exercise program. (The foot, I don't know, but I'm icing it after each run to make sure it's not getting inflamed.)

I'm going to have to repeat Week 2. I pulled a muscle in my hip in Zumba class this week. I've had to take a couple days off of all physical activity in order to let it heal. I'm feeling much better now, with only mild, occasional pain. But, I know it's important to let the injury heal completely before going back to something high impact. I will keep you all posted!

Way to go Dublreed! Actually when I was talking to someone who has been running for years,they said it is much better to run on asphalt than on concrete because asphalt will give a little and then your legs/knees won't hurt.

Completed Day 1 yesterday. It is amazing how hard 30 extra seconds per run is! I was feeling okay until the last two runs. I finished, but I felt sluggish, especially in the last one. I also did my run outside because it was pretty cool out (high of 73 in Indiana in August!!!). But, I think the concrete is a little too hard on my legs, which is why I struggle. The jogging track in my gym is not as fun because I'm not actually going anywhere, but I find my runs are always easier there, so I will probably stick to that from now on. Plus, I won't have to worry about cars, so it eliminates that stress!

Completed week 2 run 2 last night - it went MUCH better than run 1 this week. I was able to run for 90 seconds for some of the sets. I can see an improvement and been working on strength training for leg muscles as knees are hurting. Just too weak !

My week 2 day 1 was not great. Actually I started out great with pacing myself and my breathing. Around run 2 my right ankle was hurting a little but no shin splints. Got thru run 3 and my ankle was hurting more. Walked and tried run 4 and I had to stop and walk back to the car. Not sure what is going on. Been putting ice on it and elevating. Hurts when I put alot of weight on it. Not sure if it's a sprain. I didn't do anything out of the ordinary and nothing popped or was sudden pain. So I'm going to see how it is tomorrow. Might be headed to the doctor. I'm disappointed and a little frustrated.

Week 2, day 3 done. The new shoes did help today--it didn't feel like I was running on a flat plastic grid anymore. :P I'm going to repeat this week, since it doesn't feel like my calves are quite ready to run longer.

Week 2, day 2 done. My poor calves are sooo tired by the end of each 90 second run. I'm going to re-do this set next week, just to build up some endurance. :) Also, I'm getting new shoes today, which should help *a lot*. Yippee!

I fell off the wagon, but just did another W2 training. The weather was bad for quite some time, then I kept making excuses, until I had a stern talk with myself today. It was like no pause had happened, but as easy/hard as last time.

Okay today was my W2D1 routine and I felt pretty good. Kind of funny how much an extra 30 seconds of jogging can really push you....for me it was that last 15 seconds that I struggled with. I have also been extending my time since I am training for a triathlon and that run is 3.75 miles so for my work out today I jog/walked a total of 2.45 miles in 37.5 minutes, I am just glad that the walking part was extended an extra 30 seconds as well because I needed it!

Hi everyone! I am re-doing C25k after having fallen off the wagon for a good 9 months and gotten completely out of shape (and much heavier). Just finished W1D2 last night and so far so good. In Week 1 I was doing some extra run intervals at the end (going to the 30 minute mark instead of the 25 minute mark) to help prepare me for Week 2. And now that I'm in Week 2, I'm doing the same thing. Two extra 90 second run intervals (with 2 minutes walking in between).

I know from doing C25k before that things really ramp up around Week 4, so I want to be as prepared as possible for that. I figure doing the extra intervals right now, while I can, will make it easier when things really get tough up later on.

W2D4 done. It felt heavy today, so the last jogging interval with its "This is okay!" was a surprise to me. Not as short of breath during cooling down as two days ago. Haven't decided whether I'll do another W2 or continue to W3 yet; 90 s is a real challenge still.

W2D3 done. I'm still getting side stitches for a short while and while mentally this was nowhere near as bad as the first day of the week, I think I might do at least one more time of W2. Jogging for 3 minutes without disruption sounds extremely unpleasant currently. I enjoyed today's training very much, the weather is gorgeous and the breeze was super pleasant.

W2D2 done. I was slightly slower than last time, but it was more pleasant, not as "I will die right here right now!". I think there might be a correlation of speeding up and seeing people on their way toward me, will have to observe subconscious behaviour in the future.

finished w2d1 today. kinda slacking on the posting but the runs I'm getting in :)

Patty, stick with it. I did the program 2 years ago, and I'm thinking it took me till week 3 or 4 to really feel like the form started to come. Wish I'd never stopped running after, lol, but you can't change the past. The future though, that is up for grabs!

I accidentally took a week off! I haven't run since last Wednesday because of family obligations, a chemistry examination, working overtime, so on and so forth.

But I am NOT down and out. I plan to do Week 2 again on Monday and fit in Jillian Michael videos until then.

Hope everyone else is keeping at it!

finished week 2 day 3 today, but i will be running tomorrow as well. i truly enjoy it and i love seeing this change in my body! while it may not be much, i can tell a difference!

w2d1 yesterday and i felt good but was upset i didnt beat my best times

i didnt want to run today but i did because i was feeling frustrated and i knew i wouldnt be able to tomorrow when i had planned....
and i beat my best distance today! what! i am doing 2.29 miles in 31 min. emoticon for me that is amazing.

going to start Week 2 either today or tomorrow. I am pretty sure I can do it as I kept doing Week 1 until I was not only comfortable with the 60 seconds but could push myself a little further. I like doing it that way and think I will actually be able to finish this program on my "own terms" that way.

Which makes me REALLY REALLY excited :o)

I did W2D1 yesterday, my first time on a treadmill. It was definitely easier on a treadmill, because my neighborhood is hilly and I did the treadmill with no incline. I was really nervous about increasing my time to run since it seemed like I was desperate to stop once I hit 60 seconds during the first week, but it went pretty well. I think I'll start searching for more interesting places to run outside, I've got to keep things interesting.

W2D3 done! I felt tired but I made it through. I was reading about beginner 5k runner's times and there were a ton of people under 30 minutes. That seems pretty impossible to me right now. Is it harder for shorter people? I'm 5'2" and 5mph seems pretty fast to me right now.

Week 2 Day 2 - again in the rain! Sheesh! It rains every weekend...though we need it, so I guess I won't complain too much. My NHS podcast wouldn't work, so there I was in the rain without my glasses....I had to count in my head. I'm sure I got it all in though plus an extra 90 second run. Just to be sure, ya know!

I am currently on my second week of week 2 (it makes sense in my head, at least). Week 1 wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but adding that extra 30 seconds of jogging is killing me. Thighs, hips, knees... everything aches by the time those 30 minutes are up. But as long as I keep going at least 2 miles every night, I'm going to call it a success.
