It does make sense. Because you have the wheels, you will go faster. Just like you would go faster on a car. Unless you are running, walking will always be the slowest in distance with cardio - but it is a great workout.

I haven't been exercising much. My bad left knee has acted up again. Seeing another dr. Wed.

But I do have a question. When I walk 1/2 hour, then I'm doing 4 miles, but when I cycle, the distance says 12. Is that accurate do you think? I haven't been counting all of that cuz it just doesn't seem right. Do you have any idea? Thanks!

ok....WHERE ARE WE? emoticon Are we still in Hungintgon Beach or North Carolina or are we just advancing to the next place once we reach our goal...or are we waiting for the group???? CHIRORENGO: North Carolina sounds great for our next walk! I'm glad we get to stick by the beach. It is going to get cold soon enough! I'm not quite ready to let summer go yet. I live in Washington State and we have not had a great summer.

Anika, I remember the days of having to keep my kids from killing each other in the stroller. They are now 12 & 14 so now I just let them roll :-)

Great exercise day!! Turn around quick though! Kids should be in bed by now so come join the fun! If not we can start out together on our next run.

I will be up bright and early to do 4 miles tomorrow. I sure enjoyed my rest today thought!

okay, so i'm exhausted from all the exercise today, but i actually missed seeing the hotel and you girls that have already started the drinking without me! i was so busy trying to keep my kids from killing each other in the stroller that i jogged right by...
i did another 3.5 miles of jogging (with the 100+ pounds of kiddo and stroller to boot!) and another mile of walking, so my current total is:

wohoo - we are all so close to the goal! we'll have to pick our next exciting destination...
i'll check in with the mornings' commute miles (my son has therapy every day at the children's centre 3 miles away - so the double jogging stroller is my car!):

It was so nice outside I decided to head up to Newport for a quick jog.....but I'm back now ....I am noting everybody' s orders and will have them waiting ;-) emoticon

Can't wait till we all get to the Waterfront and decide where we are off to next....isn't there somewhere that the trees are starting to change colors?? or is that next month...sorry I'm originally from California where there is no change of seasons.

I did the recumbent bike today and it said 12 miles. But I cycled 30 min. So that is way more than if I walked or did elliptical. So, I'm going to count it as 2.

So:

today's bike: 2 + couple day's ago bike's 2 = 4

hi - i love the idea of this mini-challenge.
i am from canada, so nowhere near california, but luckily i have a great imagination and have been to big sur many times, so that is what i'm imagining!

8-25 The sunrise was really pretty this morning. The fresh sea air...waves crashing..went 4 miles -- almost to Huntington!!

Did 4 miles on the Elliptical (really was wishing I was at the beach!!!)

Did 4 miles today...I should be in Seal Beach or there abouts...I can smell the beach air and hear the waves.....thought about stopping by Hennessey's oh I can remember their breakfast burritos...yummy...(that was my single days and they did wonders for hangovers lol!!)
Only 8 more miles to Huntington Beach........Should get there by Tuesday!!! emoticon

I use to live in Huntington Beach and run the boardwalk almost everyday. I ran by the Waterfront Hilton...even before it was the Waterfront Hilton! I know Long Beach quite well too!

This will be a fun virtual walk for me....so here it goes...

Sorry about the confusion with the math. The distance from the starting point to the end point was 16.71 miles. If it's confusing we can just call it 17 miles. I was just trying to find a good starting and end point.

Ok so If I understand this correctly.... the first number is the total miles we walked and the second number is how many miles we have left... So for example if the total miles is 16 and I walk 1 mile... it would be

1 mile / 15 left? Is this correct.

I do speed walking as my primary exercise so this is a great challenge.

I did the stationery bike today. I don't know how many miles I did. I do it again on Monday and I'll check. Then I'll log it double. Tomorrow though, I'll do regular walking and log.
