Hi There / Doing a 6 month supervised diet will give you more time to make a decision and to do a lot of research. It's major surgery so I don't doubt you are apprehensive.

My nephew's ex wife had the surgery and she is doing fine after several years along with husband and wife acquaintances who are doing well too.

Here is a SparkPeople article you can check out. The comment section is good too.

YouTube is full of videos of people who have had the surgery or are thinking about it so check that out also.

Let us know how you are doing :)

Last week I went to a bariatric doctor and was told to start a 6 month supervised diet. I'm now on week #2 and the more I learn, the more apprehensive I am about having gastric bypass. Matter of fact, I'm telling myself that by tracking, exercise and having the support of this group, I can do this. It will take longer but it's doable.

Any thoughts from others about this?

I am my biggest hurdle but now I'm ready to jump higher!
