WOW I survived another weekend. We only got a little snow flurries and not the usual dumping of snow. there is hope that spring is in the air.

I also made it to the gym both Saturday and Sunday a promising start;

Regina, so happy your husband is doing better. Family illness is very stressful.

Dusty, I know all about the weeds. I grew up on a farm and my dad believed in planting beyond the family garden!! We would plant in the big field tomatoes, green beans, potatoes, cabbage,...... as far as the eye can see. I remember getting up at 6 am every morning in the summer to weed or pick whatever was ready and then can and freeze. I can't imagine the students I have in class doing that kind of work for free. My dad didn't believe in giving us a little weekly cash. His saying was--You eat don't you!!! LOL Those were the days.

I am back! My husband is doing pretty good! His surgery was close to three hours and it will be about 8 weeks before he is back in the swing of things but they were able to correct all the problems and he is already feeling relief which to me is a blessing!
Now to get back on track. Stress/worry and lack of rest lead me to eating more quick fix foods and drinks. Old patterns where noticeable to me. Guess I need to learn from it and move on!

Dusty, I'm in for the St. Patty's Day challenge!

Kim, I'll be doing the same thing as you today but throw some gardening into it too. The weeds are getting crazy here already.

Jules, hope you get your wi-fi up and running soon.

Today I'll be digging out those weeds that are popping up all over my gardens. It'll be nice to get out in the sun again. It's always hard to get up and down but maybe I can count it as exercise. lol. Then it's time to do my laundry and maybe get some crocheting in too.

Kim I am doing the same thing..but I did get on my spinning bike for 10 minutes today.. I am going to try to ride it every day for 10 minutes to start building up my knee ...

I just made a small casserole and brought it down to my neighbor for his dinner.. me and my other neighbors are doing that for him.. his wife was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer and I am sure he has not time to be thinking of dinners and such so each day one of us brings him something..

Now just watch Hockey for the rest of the afternoon I am a Bruins Fan.. so I am going back and forth between Bruins, Red wings game and Woman's Hockey Boston vs Montreal go Hillary..

Good Morning all, I hope you are all having a great weekend so far! I have but today is going to be a cleaning/laundry/lazy day for me. I have a bunch to do but then I am going to be lazy the rest of the day!

Hubby and I went out on a diner date yesterday and the shopping which was great! I miss spending time with him with us both working so very much right now. It's hard for us to just connect during tax season and football season. (he coaches pee wee football). So it was great to just spend a few hours together. He works 3rd shift and I am gone all day long so we are lucky during the week to see each other for an hour. If we are lucky, So Saturday's are really the only chance we get to spend anytime together.

Well, I guess I really need to quit procrastinating and get laundry started. I hope everyone has a great day!

I finally made it back to the gym today and am already seeing the change to my mood. I checked my exercise log for the last time I was there it has been since November 2014 YIKES

My food has been great until I get home from work, than all my good work is down the toilet even today after the gym I made really bad choices how can I undo such a great effort

Trying to catch up on post from the week

Sherry I too struggle with finding time for the gym and I was speaking with a coworker this weak and she really had a great idea. If you get to the gym on Saturday and Sunday then you only need to find 1 or 2 days during the weak.

Heather I love survivor and we watch it each season, At work we even had our own survivor teams but our survivor team leader is retiring this month

Hi team! Just wanted to check in with everyone and say hello. I'm sorry I haven't been posting as much I have had ALL the exams in school so I have been busy and stressed and just SO ready for Spring Break lol..so this week started out great but towards the middle of the week I kind of messed up a little but I've been trying to just not eat as much junk and get up and move more so today we took the kids to Disney for the morning and I got in a good work out walking around there which was awesome :) Really hoping to keep up my motivation and really rock this challenge with everyone! Hope you all are having a great weekend!

How does one become a butterfly? You must want to fly so much that you are willing to give up being a caterpillar.

hi everyone we are having a beautiful day today high 60's got to love Missouri weather anyhow I went to the lake and did my walking there measured it and got in a 1 mile walk very happy also about a 1/10 of that was jogging which is great considering I haven't been able to do that in forever sounds like everyone is making really good progress now to get caught up on house work and laundry but first a few things first off Kassandra that is AMAZING I can understand how you felt before I always felt like I was slowing down the guys because of my weight so being able to keep up way to go girl, sherry so great that you were able to limit yourself to a salad way to go and it is amazing how much less food it takes compared to before, patty I know soda can be a hard thing to give up especially if you don't like the taste of water like me when I drink water I have to have crystal light but also it is what helped me finally give up soda don't know if you have tried it or not but it might help you too, lisa sorry about your daughter hope she gets to feeling better soon

Good afternoon!

Beautiful day out today! We put the fire pit together, picked up some wood, so we'll be sitting outside tonight with a fire going. I'm sorry there's so many of you still going thru the bad weather. I hope it gets better for you soon.

Another day without diet coke. That makes 3! My next step is to make sure to take my meds when I'm suppose to. It's one of my downfalls. I have to get myself on a schedule when it comes to taking them and also when I eat my meals. I don't work so it's just whenever here which is not a good way to live without having a plan in place.

Have a good rest of the day. Don't forget to turn your clocks back !

Shrart it is also amazing how much you can eat when it is healthy.

Happy Saturday! It's a cleaning day here for me laundry and stuff. I haven't been tracking my food like I should be but I am doing better with sodas. Coke is a downfall for me. Hi everyone. This web site is really helping me out. I went out to lunch with my son and his finance yesterday. I ordered a prawn caesar salad with the dressing on the side. It was lettuce, back beans and tomatoes topped with sliced avocado and prawns. I drizzled a small amount of dressing over it for the taste and enjoyed. I was not even able to eat the whole thing. I am eating less than I would have before I started this. Anyway my lunch out only cost me 310 calories. It just goes to show that we can make good choices and still enjoy our food too.

hi everyone glad to see everyone doing so good I finally got to get outside today and do a walk at the park with my babies aka doggies we actually got into the mid 40's today oh man it felt so good it was muddy but good to have the sun again and Debbie I know what you mean I have my weakness on fast food and I had pizza last night too unfortunately so far I haven't found out any secrets except you don't want to deprive yourself of what you love or you'll binge on it later with that being said don't over indulge on it either or you'll hate yourself later but when I started my doctor told me I could have 1 day a week when I could have my fast food it really helped me cause that way I didn't feel deprived and I wasn't eating as much so it wasn't effecting my weight otherwise i'm sure you have heard it time and time again but it really works lots of protein it makes you feel fuller longer chicken breast. turkey, fish all of it works anything high in protein also lots of veggies which this I need to practice more of myself but it does help cause I used to eat more of them and I was usually fuller with less food I don't know if you like salads or not but I just started eating a salad for lunch with grilled chicken and somehow that combo really makes you feel full longer but in the end you have to do what works for you each person is different hope some of this helps keep up the good work team

Bern, If 73 is a cold spell I would be in heaven. It was -2 when I left for work this morning. I am so over the icy cold stinking winter!!

So excited that tomorrow is only a half a day I had my last one at 2 cancel and I get to come home early. I can't wait!!!! Been a heck of a long week!

Good morning! I was just curious to see what kind of plan you're following. I'm going to the book store this weekend to find something that I think will work for me, but also wanted to find out what works for you.

I'm struggling every day. I'm trying not to eat alot and eating healthier foods. It's so hard when there's others in the house. We had pizza last night, but at least it was one of Papa Murphys chicken bacon delights. Another day without diet coke and I'm up to the 4 bottles of water now.

Wow, been busy and realized it had been a few days since I had checked into the thread and wow, lots going on!

first off, QOTD: I am an all or nothing person which is hard with weight loss. I am either fully engaged or completely off the rails so i need an all in plan to keep me going. I used to set weekly goals but have gotten out of practice. I am going to do better with that.

Anyways, hopefully I can kick off this 1st week with some success. I pushed hard at the gym today and have a pretty good nutrition plan in place for today. Just gotta stay out of the kitchen after dinner (my current Achilles heal!!!!)

Happy Weekend everyone and happy Day light savings Time emoticon it really does no effect me.. at all I am glad to see that it stay lighter out longer.. cannot wait till the days that when I can come home from work at 5 have a good dinner then go out right after for a bike ride or a walk and not worry about it getting dark fast.. I know my dog will love it he misses his longs walks.. the walking we do is just to go out side do his thing then back inside.. poor guy.. he gained 3 lbs this winter and it shows.. LOL.. well work it off.. that is for sure

Please don't feel down! It's happened to me lots and I'm the team leader, LOL! And on the other hand I always feel bad when I go back through the threads several days or longer and see that I've missed someone who's asked a question or needed encouragement.

I'm happy you posted about it! Sometimes we need to ask for what we want or need, like support. Also the more everyone posts, the more we get to know each other:)

Feeling kinda down right now, I feel like i look at other people and they get so much support. Then I post stuff and nothing. No support, no encouragement, no congrats nothing.

Sorry to whine. I think im getting in my own head right now.

hey everyone thankfully whatever it was was fast moving cause i'm already feeling a lot better today got in my 2 mile walk with leslie sansone today and even ventured down to the mailbox this afternoon was nice to be able to get outside again we have had a lot of thawing thankfully still a few snowy spots but mostly muddy now regina sorry to hear about your uncle passing and as for our other regina I hope your husbands back surgery goes well for him tomorrow as for the qod I have mixed feelings about it personally I hate losing an hour of sleep but yet I love having another hour of daylight so I just have to start making myself go to bed earlier which I need to do to start with but i'm a night owl usually up til 2 in the morning before I get to bed thankfully I don't snack as much at night as I used to so good thing there well still going to try to get in some weights today before my mood crashes have a good day team

Kim, I hope you feel better soon. Definitely not the best way to lose weight but I'd take it any way I can get it. lol

Lisa, I hope you get into college! That is so awesome. What classes are you going to take?

Regina, have a safe flight! Sorry to hear about your uncle. I live in Port Orchard, WA, right across the water from Seattle. Small world huh?

Sherry, what plan are you following? I'm still looking for one.

Heather, we watch Survivor and Amazing Race. I think it would be so fun to go on one of those show but I'd never make it being so out of shape. Good idea on getting the individual pizzas. You still get to have your pizza and Survivor night! Good planning :)

Regina (PromisesMade) I hope your husband's surgery goes well.

Jules, I get overwhelmed when I try to work too many things into my life too. One change at a time can even be overwhelming when I haven't been trying to lose weight for a while. That's the struggle I'm facing right now. It's going to take me a while to get my head back into it again.

About the time change. It's exciting. We have sun til about 9:30-10 pm so we can be outside pretty late. Then I get tired of it because it does stay so light so late and want fall and winter to get here. lol Call me fickle!

Have a great day everyone! I'm off to drink my bottle of water.....that's my baby step for right now. Next will be exercise. emoticon

Do you streak or have focused goals or just shoot from the hip when you are trying to make changes? What is your style? Do you have a #1 top priority goal you are working on? Please share whatever you would like :)

I get overwhelmed if I try to do too many new things at once. I do best if I stick to my normal routine and work to improve/change a major thing... For example, when I worked on how to fit water into daily fluids/drinking. Or how to work veggies into my daily eating.

Although I don't call it streaking, I will work on it... learning about the whys (water, veggies helps our bodies, good4us) and then experiment & practice how to fit it into my life until I find what works for me, what is doable, that I can actually do, that I will actually do, LOL, know what I mean??? LOL

I have found this process works well for me, and figure this out after trying SparkPeople Fast Break program suggestions... Onward & more practice, more progress... that's how I roll :)

Morning all! More snow and ice last night meant I got my exercise in first thing this morning by shoveling snow!

Sherry, I try to fit exercise in when I can - I walk every break at work, and in the past I've gotten up early before work to do a Leslie Sansone video. I've gotten out of that habit, because 4 AM is just SO early (I get up at 5 when I don't work out) but I need to start doing that again. I really did feel much better.

I got myself a Fitbit with my Christmas money, and I'm happy to say I've got over 10,000 steps every day this week! emoticon

Does anyone watch Survivor? We watch it every season, and our tradition is usually a family pizza and Survivor night. Well, I planned for it this week and bought us each individual DiGiorno's frozen pizzas. It was still about 500 calories (which I thought was CRAZY for that little pizza!) but I planned for it, and us each having our own, with no more sitting in the kitchen worked out really well.

Hey everyone. I must say how pleasantly surprised I was to find how much more satisfying good wholesome whole grain food is over prepackaged empty calorie stuff. I keep looking at the food as I am preparing it and thinking to myself that is not going to be enough food but by the time I am done eating it I am satisfied and it stays with me. The recipes and meal plans have been real helpful in making sure my diet is balanced. It was a real eyeopener when I started tracking what I was eating just how much I was eating. I had no idea, I thought I was trying and couldn't figure out why I wasn't losing anything.

Any ideas on how to find more time to exercise?

I bet you are all tired of the ice and snow. We have had a real mild winter here this year. Hardly any snow except for in November before it was even winter.

Hi team, I am in the Seattle airport waiting on my flight to Michigan. It has been a long short week. I am joining family for my uncle's funeral. Not a great occasion, but it will be good to connect with family since I am the only one here in Seattle.

My work day was so busy, trying to clean my desk so I could leave on this trip. My eating has been very sporadic, grabbing un healthy snacks here & there. I am hoping I don't gain.

Talk to you guys when I get back.



My eye is on the prize.

Kimi I am sorry you arent feeling well. My friend thought he had the flu turns out it is mono. So it is good to see the Dr, if you arent sure.
I applied to college today. I am almost 46 so it is scary. I mailed away for my transcript so when i need to send it in i can. I am just w2aiting to see if i am accepted. I am applying late so i have noclue whne i will hear. If i dont get in i will look for a job and apply again in the winter.

hi everyone well today was unexpected woke up really not feeling well didn't feel good yesterday but today was much worse decided to go to the doctor and I have the stomach flu well guess I have an advantage now lol just not quite the one I wanted on the QOTD Do you streak or have focused goals or just shoot from the hip when you are trying to make changes? I did streaks mainly last month cause I was on here all the time and then life interrupted as usual so I workout as much as I can usually from my bedroom with workout dvds and weights I gave up soda about 6 months ago I sneak a sip every now and then but I am actually really pleased that I don't crave it like I thought I would I would like to start tracking my foods on here but it seems I never have enough time in the day for that if i'm lucky I can keep a food journal at the table to keep track of what I eat but that's usually about as good as it gets
