Happy 4th Firecrackers!
Numbers are looking good so far for our final weigh-in. I'm down 2 and very pleased with that. Still babying my hip with Physical Therapy, am going to try to go for a walk today will be the first Cardio for over 2 weeks.
I have really enjoyed meeting some new people and the support and motivation from our team!

OK, did the deed and weighed in. Did OK. Now I have the day with my daughter and her little son........to the beach is the cry for the day!!!!!

Watching salt intake also trying not to buy foods that have high fructose corn syrup, sugar, rice syrup, corn syrup, fructose, sucrose etc. in the first three ingredients.

No foods that have more than 3 ingredients that I can not pronounce.

If an item has more than 10 ingredients I put it on the Do Not Buy List as it is too processed.

Somehow all my Spark emails got turned off. I finally figured out why and fixed it. I was wondering where everyone was! I stayed at the same weight which is fine. I had a really bad binge on Saturday, so it's not surprising. Onward and downward!

Well here it is the end of the challenge, on a holiday weekend no less!!! LOL

I wish you all a great weigh in but if that does not happen, perhaps we can end this challenge having learned something new about ourselves. That would be a great thing!

So this is the last day. How's everyone feeling with tomorrow's weigh-in coming? I think I'll have a loss, but its going to be a small one. I don't know what it is. Its like I'm swimming upstream trying to get below the 50 pound mark. I'll make it, but just barely. lol

We went to the park today. They have a festival every year for the 4th. I got my funnel cake! I ate maybe 6 very small bites, and gave the rest to the kids. Woohoo! Victory over fried dough!!! lol

Hi Firecrackers,

I was faced with a cheese cake last night, and in typical Megan fashion, I ate too much of it. I ate past the point I was full, and I ate over my calorie range. If I don't see it, I don't want it. Avoidance is the name of my game. But when the cake comes into the house from a friendly neighbor... I have no strategy, no plan, no chance of controlling myself...

But one cheese cake every so often won't undo the work I have accomplished. I just wish I had some method for dealing with these inevitable situations. Any advice??

Happy 4th of July Weekend Firecrackers!
I won't get to picninc as it is my holiday to work = 12 hour shifts Sat and Sun night and a regular 8 hr shift on Monday night. Oh well, at least I won't overeat on picnic food!

Hi folks! I am so sorry I've not been here this week like I should've been. I've been so busy at work I haven't had time to log on there. And then when I got home, I was doing more work paperwork or running around with Liane. I had just enough energy to fall into bed and so I missed checking in at night too. It's been a lousy week for eating so I know my weight will be up come Monday. But, the good part to all of this busyness - it's gonna stop for awhile! My dad, Liane and I hit the road in the morning heading to Nebraska to visit family and then from there to South Dakota to do some sight-seeing. I'm so looking foward to it!!!! So, of course, I'm not going to have much access to the internet either. We're going to be in some po-dunk little towns!! But, that's okay. I need some slow-down time right now.

I want to congratulate everyone who has continued on through this challenge and stayed with it during the ups and downs. Thank you for your participation and encouragement to me and to the others on the team. Thank you for continuing to hang out with us!

I don't believe I succeeded in the way I wanted to but I do know that I've made some changes and I've come to some realizations. So, that in itself, is success. I hope that each of you has had some success - no matter how big or how small - during this challenge. I want to encourage each of you to continue to work towards your goals. Remember, you are worth it!!!

Becky you should be proud of the weight you have lost. We have to live in the here and now. I know I have pictures of a thinner me but I can aspire to get back to that point and we have to start somewhere.

Hi Firecrackers, not to much left of us here any more. I would like to thank each and every one of you for bing there for me. I have when through what will be one of the hardest times in my life with you in the passing of my mother in May and having to go to Denver for the memorial. You all gave me such love and support and I will never forget that.

I stated at 303.8 pounds I am down to 297. I went up as high as 308 and lost 10 pounds one week, Now my body is in shock and is hanging on to everything I eat. I only lost 0.6 last week. But for the fist time I am less then from what I stated for a change.

Megan7124-Last night me and my husband were looking through old pictures and we found one of me from about 5 years ago when I had lost about 140 pounds. I looked at my self and almost cried thinking how had I let myself go back to this again. I remember thinking to my self then that I was not doing good because I was not down to the weight I wanted to be at yet. I thought was a failure I was instead of thinking was an amazing accomplishment I had made at that point. With all my friends saying how good I looked I could not see it and i did not believe it. It is like we are only happy with ourselves if we are big and unhappy. Like we need something to get on ourselves about or to bring ourselves down with.

we are our own worst enemy. We all have to look at where we have come from and look ahead and not beat ourselves up over the past.

I love you all, we were a great team and if we do not win this challenge we are all still winners in finding new friends and learning new healthy habits.

I know exactly what you mean Megan! I've had that feeling every single week, around the middle of each week, since I started SP 3 months ago! Its crazy, I know, but apparently its easier to lose weight than it is to get your brain to acknowledge it. lol

Shari, you're a rock star! Every time I see your beautiful face smiling back at me from the computer screen, I think "wow, she's amazing!" You've done a fantastic job and you are such an inspiration to me!

Hi Firecrackers - I can't believe the challenge is almost over! I started at 265 I think, but I need to go back and check. I went through most of this challenge feeling stuck - but I'm track to lose over 12 pounds over the last 8 weeks. It's not a huge number, but it's pretty good! So where does this feeling of being stuck come from - it's like I can't be a witness to my own progress, I'm still stuck in the 'I'm failing at this" mentality, even though somewhere inside I know that's not true.

Anybody else have this happen to them?

And as always, thanks for being such a huge inspiration to me Firecrackers - you guys have done an amazing job in this challenge and I've learned so much from doing it with you!

hi guys,

i have never jilted on a challenge before and i feel awful. i have not weighed in for 3 weeks or been super supportive. i just wanted to stop by an appologize for being a lousy firecracker this go around. this is not my habit and you all deserve 100% and more.

Hey everyone, I just wanted to stop in and say great job! I'm not sure what's up with the numbers this week. I've added them 4 different times and I'm still coming up with us winning the week by 8/10 of a pound. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but oh well. I'm calling it a third week in a row that we've won! lol

Awesome job everyone! Next week is it. How close are you to your goals for the challenge? I went back the other day and looked at my start weight for this. I started at 285 for this, so I'm hoping I'll hit 25 total pounds by Monday. If not, I'm okay with that. It was still over a 20 pound loss.

Hi everyone! Sorry I've been MIA the last few days. I've been spending all my free time with Liane and haven't had time to check in.

Nora - AWESOME!!!! I'm so happy for you!!!! I know how much this loss means to you!

Fit - I'm so much aware of my inability when I'm around my dad who is 71 years old. He could run circles around me and it doesn't make me feel good!

The rest of this week will be stressful for me. Need to finish up projects before my 2 week vacation and try to do it with minimal overtime because I don't want to miss time with Liane. Oh well, I'll get done what I can!!

Good morning everyone! I just got back from the gym. My first trip since I got home from my vacation. My knees are still in bad shape from the extensive walking and stair climbing so I took it easy but I'm proud that I went.

I was reading through the posts and I see some of you have lost a lot of weight-88 pounds--100 pounds!! That is awesome!!!! I hope to be able to add myself to that list sometime soon. This trip kind of opened my eyes to how bad a shape I am in. There was an 80 year old man on the tour with us and he out did me everyday in walking and climbing. I am embarrassed to say that since I'm about half his age but it's true. I'm not feeling sorry for myself, I am just stating a fact and I am determined to do something about it. I am pumped!!!

Hey everyone it is hard to believe that the challeng is ending, I really enjoyed this challenge and look forward to the next one, thank you everyone and Dusty for letting me be a co captin it was a pleasure working with Deannette, one thing I do get from this team is motivation.

Nora congrats to you you must be very proud. speaking of feeling proud that is one thing I do not tell my self offen I am proud that I lost over 88 lbs, but I just dont say it enought or think enought, and I am going to start right now I think it is so important, I for one can get so "stuck" in my ways an not relize were I came from, I came from a unhappy, depressed, hurting person, not wanting to do anything, heck not able to do anything, and today I am feeling all the rewards I can, I can walk with no pain, I job, I ride my bike I work out at the gym, I can fit in a chair I can tie my shoes, the list goes on,
so I am going to start reminding my self of all the things I am proud of..

Have a great Summer everyone, healthy living is not to be taken for granted it is so important this is your life and you only get one shot at it, I for one am going to make it a good one.

Way to go Nora! 8 pounds is amazing! I hope this means the plateau is over.

I only lost .5 but I'm happy with that. I haven't been feeling that well. Last week was very lackluster for me.

Had an awesome weigh in. Eight pounds down! I'm not saying the plateau is over. Not until I have another loss, but I'm still pleased to have broken the 570 mark.

Hey everyone happy weekend, so what is on the everyones fitness plan for the weekend,, and just cuz it is the weekend fitness is still important as it is as it is in th week time, so with that said and Monday is a WI day lets have a last chance work out, and that is to work out at least 30 mins Saturday and Sunday, amd it does not have to be hard work out a walk, a bike ride or swimming in the pool but some type of fitness for 30 we ca do this lets go team

Hi everyone! I hope you've got some great fitness plans for the weekend! I'm having lunch tomorrow with friends that are moving to Germany, then I have to drink as much water as possible and work out like a beast to counteract the food. :P I WILL be having a cannoli, so I have to be really good the rest of the weekend. lol

Becky hope you feel better soon. I had bronchitis all of May and some in June and it really got me good. Get some rest.

I think I'm finally over my jet lag. I've always heard people talk about it but never experienced it myself. Wow, is all I can say. I didn't even trust myself to drive for the first 2 days back. I was exhausted before I left for my trip and of course the trip was a constant go, go, go. So no rest there. My group had a night flight straight to Paris and we started the tour as soon as we left the airport so if you didn't sleep on the plane then you were in trouble. Ha, that was me of course. We walked at least 10 miles or more a day. I thought Paris had some beautiful sites and history but there was so much graffiti everywhere. I did enjoy the night cruise on the Seine. As we were traveling down the river the Eiffel Tower lit up and it does this sparkle thing for a couple of minutes, really beautiful. I enjoyed the Loire Valley and Spain the most. We visited lots of cathedrals and castles. We walked the path that is taken for the Running of the Bulls in Pamplona, visited a 13th century medieval village. Our trip ended in Barcelona. We stayed in a resort by the Mediterranean Sea.

I really enjoyed the trip but if I had it to do again I wouldn't go with a tour group. It is just toooooo much. There were things I wanted to do and see and the group was constantly moving to get so much stuff in and there was no down time to just relax and enjoy where you were.

I am proud of myself for making it through this trip. I even climbed a staircase over 500 ft high on a natural sand dune that overlooks the Atlantic Ocean. To say the least my knees were killing me and they still are. I'm hoping the rest I'm getting will get me back to normal soon.

Sorry folks....the last few days have just been really full and I haven't had the time to come visit my friends! I've missed you!

Angie - what do you do that you work 8-8 three days a week? Were you able to fit some exercising in yesterday?

Nora - Happy Anniversary! Happy Birthday! Happy Swimming! Happy Week!!!

Megan - woohoo for feeling strong, eating well and moving your body!

Steffy - hey there! How've you been? Glad to see you poppin' in.

Becky - take care! Sure hope you're feeling better soon! I'm not a fan of getting bronchitis. It wipes me out.

Amy - were you able to catch up? I've been running behind all week! And it's getting old!!!

Shari - hope you're able to get an answer on your hip pain. It's kinda funny how we can miss something we never thought we'd enjoy or be able to do, isn't it?

My weekend is already filled and I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to be able to eat without getting into trouble. My daughter and I are meeting a friend for dinner tonight, going to another friend's house tomorrow and then my brother's on Sunday. Since her time here is limited, we're trying to fit in as much as we can. I'm going to be exhausted before it's all done! But, I'm darn sure going to enjoy my time with her!!! Too bad I still have to work. And speaking of which, I should get going so I can do those things I'm getting paid for.

Becky - The same good wishes for feeling better to you! You sound like me as I don't think I had 1 call-off day at all last year!

I go to the Doc this morning for my hip pain. I sure hope they can figure out what is causing it because believe it or not (sure surprises me) I miss not being able to do my running workouts.
