In August, I took a full-time combination administrative and teaching position at the school I attended and was already working at a few days a week. Consequently, I had to leave the chiropractors I had worked with since graduating, which was somewhat emotional, and also left me only doing bodywork on a regular basis in the classroom. The break was nice at first, but I knew I could not sustain it long-term - not for reasons of income, but because it would limit my teaching potential, while GROWING that is one of my highest priorities.

So, last month, I finally put it out there that I wanted to start doing more massage work, and actively pursue outcall clients: I gave my mom a stack of fresh business cards and asked her to start giving them out again. Well, the very next day, I got a text from an old friend who was desperate for a massage. The day after that, a client from the chiro office called my school looking for me. (The CA referred her; I didn't poach their patient, lol!) The following week, I got another referral.

I've been averaging 2-3 massages a week on top of my FT job, and it's perfect for right now. What really struck me was how as soon as I was willing to share my goal - which is not always the easiest thing - the universe answered. More than any other experience, it has made me believe in the power of positive thinking, and our own ability to "speak things into existence."

So, here are my questions for you, MT team:
What's your big dream, and how does massage fit into your vision?
Are you fulfilled in the work you do, and what are you doing (or not doing) to make that happen?
