Hi there! Hope everyone is having a good week thus far. I've been thinking about my New Years Goals (I think I like that better than Resolutions), so I'll be posting them on my blog as soon as I get them figured out! I've been taking a lot of time thinking about them this year... so I can make them attainable (and break through this Plateau!) Read something that suggested making SMART Goals
Specific
Measurable
Attainable
Realistic
Timley

I would LOVE the bowflex weights, but I move around so much, it doesn't make sense right now. Maybe when I finally "grow up" and decide where I want to live :) (so... who knows when that will be) Also, because of the moving, I don't have a gym... hence the reason for the ever-growing collection of workout DVDs. *sigh* ah, well... Do you love the bowflex weight? I know my boyfriend has been thinking about getting "something" and he keeps going back and forth between the weights, or a total gym, or, well... something. I don't know, I don't press him, because part of me doubts he'll use it/them for more than a month (there's a reason he's not my workout/motivation buddy), but you never know.

Even with my "little" weights, I am sore today... so this morning I took it easy and did a YBB (Yoga Booty Ballet). Normally it doesn't feel like a workout to me, so it's good for a rest day (I feel like I've at least moved around a bit... stretched a little... and not been totally inactive).

I understand about the weights!!! I begged hubby for the bowflex weights. so he got a bowflex card and we put the weights on there. You might be able to find some on craigslist or something. I have the bands, but me personally, i prefer the weights. before I had the weights though, I would take our laptop to the gym and do my CLX workouts there with their weights. ~ Good for you for doing it regardless! Those other workouts sound like fun!

I've done the first two months of P90X. It was shocking to find out the workouts are an hour long! But they are a workout! Plyo is my favorite. I know there is a group on facebook starting it on the 10th of Jan and probably some starting the first on tbb if you want a "group" to do it with.

CLAREC - Don't think of it as pushing it off, think of it as a good start day. I think especially with the programs that are "set" to follow, it's good to have a memorable start day (and it's not like you're not working out until then... you are, you're just not doing the P90X yet!).
MJKICHB2 - You there? Haven't heard from you in a while... Hope things are going well!

I did the Lean Circuit1 today (ChaLEAN Extreme has three phases, Burn, Push, and Lean) and it was a great workout. (still need to figure out what I'm going to do about the weights, though). Also, I just bought Chalene's sampler from her website with PiYo, Hip Hop Hustle, and TurboKick, so hopefully these new workouts will give my body the jumpstart that it needs... oiy!

I actually have P90X, and have done the first phase of it. It was a great workout, I just haven't had the time to do the workouts in the correct order. I'm hoping to restart the videos on 1/1/2010
I know that I shouldn't push it off, but I'm squeezing in a lot of things at the end of this year. I'm going to be finalizing my half marathon training and fit the P90X workouts in as well.

I actually have ChaLEAN extreme, and like it alot! Unfotunatly, I don't have really heavy weights (my biggest are 10lbs) and I don't have the money to get them right now. I've been thinking about getting some resistance bands... but I'm concerned that my legs won't get a good workout... and that's super important (biggest muscle group... largest calorie burn)
Also, when I was going through doing the program... I actually GAINED inches and weight... probably because I didn't have the right equipment. So... I've gone back to doing more cardio and just using the 1st and 3rd phase as a supplement to my workout program, making sure that I strength train at least twice a week.
So... anyway... I have some new DVDs, so hopefully the combination of switching things up and adding the new DVDs into the rotation will help.

(but, I agree about the weight training... totally important!)

Hey girls! I am familiar with the whole platue thing but i noticed you all don't do much weight lifting. I've always been a big believer in weight training to get muscle but not the really bulky kind but lean and when i was at a platue from doing the same ol same ol, I came across ChaLean Extreme. The platue was no longer an issue. It was like having a personal trainer and i still love it today! Chalene is great, her personality is motivating (turbo jam instructor) and the way she does the strength training is just genius! I just wanted to recommend it to ya'll because it really works! it's my favorite anyways.....

Changing up your workouts is a good idea though. Your body does get use to the same workouts, good job to you for stickin thru and not giving up!!! You go girls!!!

I've also looked at Insanity. It looks really good but it haven't tried it yet. THe interesting thing about this one is he doesn't use weights, just your own bodies resistance, it looks really intense. Hopefully sometime in 2010 i will!

Great. I understand about the plateau. I've been stuck for months now! Grrr... However, I've also started really tracking in the last 2-3 months, and I'm feeling confidence about my weigh in/measuring next week *crosses fingers* Also, I will admit, that while I don't "see" results, I've noticed a lot less negative "self-talk" of late, so that's good!
I'm really going to try to swich up my workouts, hopefully that will help. A bit of progress would really help with the motivation, otherwise, it's so easy to just give up since I haven't been seeing any results.
So, what I guess I'm saying (in a round about way) is hang in there. It'll happen. (and we can help each other through it!)

I could use a buddy to help motivate me through these last 10 lbs. I've been at a plateau for 3 weeks, and it doesn't sound long, but I had a constant 1 lb loss for the previous 15 weeks before that.
I need all the help I can get. I'm now logging everything every day, so I can stop by and see how you are doing as well.

Lovely! Hope your Mondays went well. Mine was stressful for a day off, but I've managed to circumvent the emotional eating so far... so that's good! I also got my new workout DVDs in this afternoon, so I can't wait to give them a shot tomorrow!!

Hi!
So, as you've probably guessed, I'm looking for a buddy. Support, motivation... working both ways. I'd love to have someone (or multiple someones) to check in with at least a couple times a week. I've been using SP for a while... but originally just for the articles. But now, it's go time (or... should I say, "Time to Jam"... love myself some Turbo Jam)
