It's the same thing with myself and Ian: he's 6'5 and about 315 lbs, and seems to care a little less about his health than I do. It's a little concerning sometimes, but I think that I'm the influence here. Often the following statement will be uttered from my lips, "Babe....... let's go to Wendy's."
Argh! It's so terrible, I want to slap myself silly some days!

My husband and I are the same way too! When he's around, we'll eat dinner and instead of doing something active, one of us will suggest going to get some ice cream or something sweet... and of course, the other one of us totally goes along with the idea! And it is different for guys. For one thing, my hubs weighs almost a hundred pounds more than me... and he's a foot taller than me. Of course, he can splurge on some treats after dinner!

Elissa your last post made me laugh. My husband and I just had a discussion about how guys do that very thing. My husband will offer me root-beer floats, oreos, ice cream, and anything else sweet after dinner. It drives me crazy. I keep telling him he's not helping my cause. If he wants me to be hot he needs to stop with the sweets. It's different for guys I guess. I know Adrian, my husband, needed to lose a few pounds and he lost it all in a about a week. That's why I'm glad I found you ladies.

Hey ladies!

My biggest hurdle is indifference/laziness! I'm the first person to admit it! I can be doing great all day, but as soon as I get home from work I'm so mentally strained that I run for the comfort food INSTEAD of running outside. I love my boyriend to bits, but he doesn't like saying "no" to me when I ask for anything non-healthy. I guess that's something that we'll both have to work on.

Renee, it sounds like you are doing great! I'd say with cardio 5-6 times per week and adding in strength training, you'll be down to your goal in no time! My biggest hurdle definitely deals with consistency. Life is always throwing something in my way, and I find I have to work extra hard to keep myself on track with both workouts and diet. Especially on the weekends... I'm usually out of town on the weekend, visiting friends or family. When I'm visiting friends, it's easier to eat healthily, but harder to exercise. When I'm visiting family, it's easier to exercise, but harder to eat healthily. Haha... no win situations!

I would love another buddy! I can use all the motivation I can get. I also have a treadmill and I am running for about 30-40 minutes 5-6 times a week. I go for walks a lot with my husband and my 3 kids and want to start strength training. What are your biggest hurdles? For me it's coffee. I love coffee so cutting down has been a challenge but I'm working on it.

Hi ladies!

If you two would like another buddy, I'd love to work with you to keep each other motivated. Working out isn't really something I love to do, but it feels so good once I actually do it. What kinds of exercises do you both like? I'm not a member of a gym, but I own a treadmill and some free weights. When it's nice outside, I like to take walks and go for jogs.

Hope we can all help each other succeed in our goals!

Hi Elissa,

My name is Renee and I'd love to be your buddy. I'm 27 and trying to lose about 36 lbs. I've been apart of sp since Jan but I've only gotten serious about it just recently.

I'm married, have three kids and work part time. Exercise seems to fall last on my list, but I'm trying to change that. I need someone to give me that extra push and keep me motivated. I hope we can help each other out.

Please be my buddy!
