I always plant i containers because of gofers...I'm going to build and use raised beds soon.

If they just ate the leaves and left the stems its probably something like a rabbit or squirrel, in which case sprinkling the area with cayenne pepper when you plant and after each rain or watering will help keep them away. If the whole plant disappeared it might be birds, netting the area until the plants get bigger whould help with that.

Hi, I live in Boise Idaho and I planted cucumber seeds three weeks ago. This weekend, something ate the leaves down to the stems! Any ideas what would do that and how to prevent it?
