Do you take the bottles/soaps from hotels?

I worked as a maid at a local motel, these small items were placed in the rooms for the customers convience, they were bought in bulk, I rarely stay in a motel but when I do I use them or take what I will use. I have a friend who stays in a motel quite often she keeps all these small bottles and donates them to a homeless shelter or to a local place that helps people who are low income, etc. When the motel where I worked changed brands they donate to similar charities.

I don't take them, generally because they're junk. But, if it's opened, it goes in the trash, so take them without feeling guilty. They probably cost them pennies. I think they worry more about towels than they do about the shampoo.

Wow, You mean it's not part of the deal. If you don't use them, or like all of them they have to throw them away. I mean have you ever got a room with a open, half used shampoo...LOL

It all depends on the type of hotel and the quality of the toiletries. I don't take (or even use) those things at a budget hotel/motel. But I will admit to taking French milled soap at a high end hotel where I pay a high end price.

I want it on the record that I don't take bath sheets, ash trays, or anything bolted to a wall.

It's been sooooo long since I stayed in a Motel/hotel that I don't believe I do. Now USED TOO be that I took the one's we used with us, not new one's. They throw them away anyway.

I'm not saying anyone is right or wrong. It was just a discussion DH and I had recently and wanted to get thoughts from others!

Heck yes... great to have for camping or other vacations where those items are not available. Perfect size to carry LOL

In the past I had thought those little bottles & soaps were included with the room, and ok to take, even if you did not use them, but I have been shown the error of my ways, and would not dream of doing that now !

No, however someone else that I live with tries to!
