I would put in the time of the video and marching time separately. It would give you a far more accurate count. After all you want and need to know accurately so you can keep track of your own personal improvement.

I agree for now I would log it as 26 minutes, keeping mind that it's probably going to give you a higher number of calories burned than is accurate. I wear a heart rate monitor too and the number the tracker gives me is lower than what SP tells me.

If it were me I would put the time the video ran as doing the workout and log the time marching in place as walking. That would cut down the calorie count but still give you credit for the exercise.

I would also agree- log the full 26 minutes. As for the calories burned, I find that SP often over estimates calories burned for me, according to my HR monitor. When I do the cardio bootcamp video for 11:20 I burn ~ 70 calories, which is significantly lower than SP estimates (something in the 200 range, I don't remember what exactly). I think it is a great idea to get a HR monitor. I LOVE mine, it motivates me to do my workouts and I love recording all of the data.

GREAT job for doing the entire video and not stopping! Very commendable! emoticon emoticon

I'd log the 26 minutes

I would think you would put in the whole time - if you were marching in place - you were burning calories! Now if you stopped and rested, then I would only put in the time you worked out.

Personally, I find to get any benefit out of these videos I have to do them 2 -3 times in one sitting and since I don't have high speed internet, it takes forever for them to load and play without stopping.
As soon as it starts, I pause it, go work out on my treadmill and by the time I've run for 30 minutes the video is finally loaded where it will play all the way thru.

i did my first bootcamp workout today. i had to do some modified versions of the scissor jumps and squat thrusts, but overall i was so proud to finish. my real question i guess is...i paused the video when i need a mini break and marched in place for 20-30secs or however long i needed to catch my breath again...so overall it took me 26 min to finish the workout (so so relieved and proud that i kept moving the entire video and never gave up) do i log in 26 min when i log in cardio or just the 10min and leave off the marching in place? i am buying a heart rate monitor later today to get a more accurate rating of just how many calories i'm burning, but when i typed in 26 min it says i burned 416 calories...that just doesn't seem right (seems like way too many tho i am definitely feeling the workout in my thighs :P) just wondering how i'm supposed to log it for the most accurate results...thx for the help and can't wait until tomorrows day 2 routine :D
