Can't believe I'm failying in my own challenge. :-(

I am doing a lot of activities (Wii Fit, Wii Sports, gardening, yardwork); but still no elliptical. I guess it's because I enjoy the other things better; but, you'd think I could manage 20 mins a day a few days a week.

Pushing away from the computer in a few minutes & have all good intentions of walking upstairs and using the elliptical.

I live far, far away, but I will still participate challenge wise. I will continue to walk my dogs everyday, twice per day and do coach Nicole's butt blaster 20 times between today and Sept. 26. That's my mini goal/challenge

Although the convention is actually close enough I could attend, I had a conflict of sorts. The Pittsburgh Great Race is that Weekend. The Great Race is a 10k and there is also a 5k. Last year, the 5k was supposed to be my very first 5k race ever. However 1 week before the race, I got a terrible case of shin splints and had to back out. I was even registered so I lost my money, too.

Since that time, I have ran in 9 - 5ks (placed 2nd or better in 4 of those), a 5 miler, and two 1/2 marathons. I have registered yet again for the Great Race only this time it will be the 10k.

My goal is to train hard but also train smart so that I show up for this race injury free and finish in under 66 minutes.

Think highly of yourself because the world takes you at your estimate.

My mini-goal is to get back to regular use of my elliptical. I have gotten out of the habit of using it regularly the past few months, and believe I need to get back to some more strenuous cardio than I've done of late.

Specifically, I will do at least 20 mins per day 3 days per week.

Now that I've written it here, I suppose I should go do my first 20 min session of the month. Dang... this just might help. :-)

The SparkPeople convention in Cincinnati is on Sep 26. I thought that would be a good target date to set for some mini-goals, whether or not you will actuall attend. We are all in different stages of our fitness journey and therefore can have very different goals that are right for us. So, from now to the convention, I challenge you to take a fresh look at your goals and your workout routines and determine if anything needs to be tweaked or maybe just have a renewed focus.

If you want to share, please post here and let us know what your goal or focus is and how you do throughout these 3 weeks. What you do just might have an impact & be a motivator to another member -- what a bonus that is -- taking care of yourself and inspiring someone else at the same time!

What will you do?
