I haven't been able to exercise for a few days because of the pain in my belly. Thought it was hernia or kidney stones but no, it was cysts in my lower abdomen that were bursting (so to speak). Tummy is still tender but I'm supposed to walk but not exercise hard. So no bootcamp for me for sometime.

I joined the "New You Bootcamp" as a challenge. Hopefully I will get past this plateau and start losing weight again. I sure hope this gets my weight going in the correct direction. We'll see soon.

Ok, a couple of you have shown some interest in a fitness challenge.

We have been at this for over 6 weeks. I have seen lots of cardio on the board. Let's rev it up with some strength training.

Choose three different strength training exercises and do them every other day, or better yet, choose a different body part to work on and do it everyday.

The Challenge is to loose the most overall inches. Grab a tape measure and post your basic stats by Monday 10pm EST. The Challenge ends June 30.

Rules: Post your measurements once at the beginning and then at the end. Post your strength training workout daily if you can, but at least twice a week so we can keep tabs on each other.

Comments and Suggestions please.

Hubby & I started going to the gym on Sunday. We go daily @ 4:30am. At my weight I have to start out slow and work my way up.

Wednesday I could do LITERALLY 35 SECONDS on the Elliptical. lol I've decided to work my way up a little each day. Thursday I did 1 min, today I did 1 min 34 secs. I don't feel so bad though because hubby's in MUCH better shape than me and could only do a minute today! YAAAAAAY! ha!

I do treadmill for 15 mins, then recumbent bike for 5 mins, with 3 "power bursts" in there for good measure. Then today was abs... so I did the machines for Abs 3 sets of 10 reps @ 50 lbs each.

I have to say... I'm a night owl and have always hated gyms, but I'm REALLY enjoying the gym this go round (the last was EONS ago) and don't even mind the early starting time....

I WILL SUCCEED!

I was jumping on a trampoline about 3 years ago for the first time (I am 35). I could not get out of the bed the next morning. I never realized how much of an exercise it is. I have one on my wish list.

Well I have managed to go walking everyday although only for a short while on sunday.I just danced for 45 minutes.I think I just had an energy rush!!! maybe my body was happy to just lose 2lbs and is celebrating!! I shall be going out for my daily walk in a minute after a few glasses of water. emoticon

Had a family crisis on Fri so I didnt do anything Friday...Saturday I spent the day running errands & doing housework...that was enough of a workout for me...and I cut 15" of hair off so that alone made me lose 5lbs! LOL

Sunday I crawled around the City Museum (www.citymuseum.org) for about 3 hours...then after lunch walked leisurely around the park for an hour or so

yesterday i made it to my 30 min circuit class, focusing on upper body....skipped my kick-punch class b/c my son had a school thing

i skipped my cardio pilates class today b/c i couldnt get out of work...but I did do 10 mins on the bike & 30 on the elliptical while my son was down in his swim lessons

I got up energized so went to my 30 mi yoga class,then walked the park and came home-
did my treadmill 40 mins on 10% incline lowering it to 3 when I run.

I love Billy. I'm doing one of his advanced tapes that is still on VHS! Don't give me too much grief about that. At least, I didn't say BETA. :)

Exercise is key to losing weight and keeping it off. You may like to cycle. Someone else may like to walk. There is room for variation. The important elements include finding something that you enjoy and will stick to... finding something that gets your heart rate up to the target range (SP has articles that can help you find your target heart range if you don't know it. I'll send you links, if you'd like.)...finding something that gets your metabolism revved up and gets calories burned!
