I had beef stew for dinner last night and had already counted all the calories for dinner. I was going to have a slice of bread w/ the stew and said no. Didn't want the extra 129 calories!

This afternoon I almost had some animal crackers with my coffee when I remembered this post and thought "just say no". Well not only did it work, but it let me pause long enough to realized I really didn't want anything to eat and my reaching for animal crackers was all about an especially difficult week at work.

I love it! Such a simple notion, saying no. In 12 step programs there's an expression "kiss" ---it stands for "keep it simple, stupid".

What I like about "just say no" is that there's no wiggle room or decisions. There's no "just one bite", "just a smidgen", "I think it fits in my calories today". AND there's a lot of power in the word "NO"!

Very good, glad to know there are still particpants with me. I am still practicing saying no also, as a matter of fact I was grocery shoppin, unfortunately before dinner and I saw some lemon cookies that were calling my name, and said no, along with the Resess PB cups at checkout. Good job and keep up the good work, it really is those little things that make a difference in the end. Have a good week.

Had a bunch of friends from church over to our home for refreshments of coffee and donuts. Totally soft, abounding with frosting, I didn't eat one, and when there were 2 left, begged the group for someone to "put them out of their misery!" (I didn't want them left around!!) emoticon

Finally after 6 weeks of nothin I lost a pound when I weighed in the am. Thanks a lot everyone for helping me to stay on track and joining me in just saying NO, your particpation was helpful. I hope this is a new beginning for me. Happy weekend.

emoticon I have been saying no for 2 weeks now to all the extra, so I have high expectations for my weigh in tomorrow. I hope I am not too disappointed. I will take anything right now, i have not lost in weeks. Have a good weekend.

I said NO to cheesecake... I think I floored my mother! But after eating diner I was not interested in strawberry shortcake over gluten free cheesecake!

My mother couldn't believe it. I smiled and said I was not hungry. I got a bowl of strawberries and some whip cream anyway. emoticon I ate the strawberries and my BF took my whipped cream for his shortcake.

I came home from camp with an extra 1/2 lb. and at least 2 lbs. of red vines licorice. I think I'm the only one in the house who eats it. Yikes! I pledge to Just Say No to over-doing it on the sweet treats. And I'm taking this tub of red licorice to my dd's soccer practice tomorrow night.

Just remember there is a time to say Yes, just not always. And I agree with you sometimes saying no is easier than saying, I think I will take a bite and throw the rest away. Glad you all joined me. I have said no to several desserts this week, and choose fruit instead of a donut on Wednesday for goodie day at work. Have a good weekend. Thanks for sharing. Nancy

Well, I joined the club a few days ago, but have to confess I binged today on my mom in laws delicious p-nut butter pie! BOO!!!!!!!!!

I think the best thing for me is to not have ONE BITE of sweets. I do better by just banning them completely, vs. trying to moderate.

O.K. _ I REFUSE to give up. I rejoin again the "Just Say No!". Someone pray for me, that I will resist temptation. For some reason I've really been having a battle there.

Count me in to just saying NO! My biggest pitfall is giving in to my DH and snacking with him in between meals or being part of the clean plate club. I will take smaller portions, I can always add more and to snaking, I need to just say NO.

I am in to the just say NO campaign. I am the same way one piece of cake leads to a total binge. It is going to be a great challenge of discipline to say no with all the parties going on this time of year. But ,I am into the challenge thanks! emoticon

I'm in! I sadly gave in and majorly binged on cake last night... the kind with the buttercream icing.
Before I began eating it (my husband brought it home from an office party), I said to myself, it would be best if I just avoided the temptation. Well, I didn't. Down the hatch it went. I felt yucky afterwards physically (lethargic and grumpy) and emotionally (regret). The few minutes of pleasure weren't worth the dissappointment and regret of sabotaging my goals. For some, having a few bites is no problem....for me, taking a bite of something that intensely sweet just triggers a raging craving for sweets. I knew better.

I'm joining in on the "Just say no!" I KNOW better. Now I need to say "NO"!

Thanks for the challenge!

I do not like to consume artifical sweetners.. but lately when I crave.. I have put 1/2 of a crystal light flavor enhancer in my water and that makes a huge difference. Gives me the sweet for 2.5 calories.

I'm with you sister. I've found myself snacking on sweets too much and - I've noticed I've gained a bit of weight back. Sooooo, I have to change. I'm with you on the "Just Say No" campaign. Thanks!

I know it has been used before but I am reinstating the Just say NO campaign for myself. I have been working out really hard, changing in up a bit, but to my own disappointment there has been no weight loss. After further evaluating my situation, I had to be honest with myself and admit I have been eating way to many "extra" snacks. An extra cookie here, a little candy there, only a piece of a donut. Well after not losing for several weeks, make that over a month. I am now saying NO to that extra food. So far it seems to be working, it gets me back into that conscience state of mind of making the right choice and walking away. It even working on vacation over the last few days. Does anyone care to join me in my reinstated campaign? I hope so, Have a great week everyone. Nancy emoticon and just say NO!
