Tip of the Day: Emotion is created by motion. Next time you're getting ready to jog but don't feel 100 percent eager to do it, why not go out for a skip instead? Skipping is such a powerful way to change your state because:

1. It's great exercise.
2. It causes less stress on your body than running.
3. You won't be able to keep a straight face.
4. You'll entertain anyone who drives by!

My Rest Day certainly did me a world of good! I have joined another July Challenge where the folks make their own Goal and all do different things. Hence, you see I upped my Goal further than the 480 since I've been doing so well.

Today: 7/20/13. These exercises were done throughout the day - certainly not all at once.

Rebounder: 10 minutes/1x; 5 minutes/1x (actually used for warm up before Yoga)
Rebounder: Jumpsport Basic Workout, 30 minutes. (This is the one where I overdid it last Friday, but was fine today as I'm getting stronger.)
Yoga: 30 Minutes

Total: 75 Minutes

YAY! thanks for joining JOYCEE!!
I am staying within my calorie range this week..(I am actually on a special 10 day program and eating the same thing each day so that makes it easy:))
I have huddled and shared motivational quotes.
Adding at least an extra 10 minutes to my daily exercise..this week will plan to add an additional 10 since the first 10 is now the norm!

Bounced on my stability ball -3- minutes (felt more like fun than work!)

= Bicep curls: 2 sets of 21's - once with dumbbells; once with resistance band

= Tricep kickbacks: 2 sets of 10

= Squats with diagonal woodchop: 2 sets of 12 each side

= Kettlebell swing: 20

= Kettlebell deadlift: 20

= Plank (on my knees): 1 minute

Cool down:
Bounced on my stability ball -3- minutes (felt like relief!)

12-Minute Seated Core Workout; Rebounding, 5 Minutes/4x = 20 minutes

Total: 32 minutes

I didn't count my extra stretching before and after each Rebounding time or that would have been an extra 24 minutes. LOL Stiffness is an issue with me so I need to stretch a lot.

It may seem funny to do the Seated Core Workout, but it's great for loosening the back while strengthening the core. Doing something at the computer while I'm watching the market.

Surely, we can figure SOMETHING out on how to get your Fitness Ticker to move!

Let's try this:

1. Do you see the orange bar across the top of your computer screen that says:
My Trackers / Articles & Videos / Community / Shop ???

2. Click on MY TRACKERS to get the drop-down menu.

3. From the drop-down menu, click on the START button.

4. Once on that page, scroll down until you see the light orange box (left side of computer screen) that says: My QuickTrack.

5. My QuickTrack will show the current day's date; Fruit/Veggie Servings; Cups of Water; FITNESS MINUTES + ACTIVITY and the SAVE button.

6. I enter my fitness minutes + I name the activity I did and then press the SAVE button.

This -should- now begin tracking your fitness minutes onto your tracker. You can also go to past dates to enter your fitness minutes.

Please let me know if this is working for you. If not, we'll try asking the Spark Help Desk.

How was week 1 of the challenge? I am adding 10 minutes to my exercise..I go to the gym early and do a minimum of 10 minutes on some sort of cardio machine as a pre-class warm up.
I have huddled almost every day :) and I have been within my calorie range every day last week but 1, shooting for all 7 this week!

Week 2 is off to a great start, how about you :) ?????
Share with your team how things went, or are going..or if you didn't do week 1 jump on in for week 2!!!

(1) My rebounder is now put away in expectation of our travels. So... I will be doing some sort of different exercises today to start on my weekly 120 minutes! A mere 17 minutes a day will ensure that you get all 120 minutes!

July Team Challenge, we hope you will all have a go at this!! YOU CAN DO IT! emoticon m emoticon emoticon emoticon

Listed below will be THREE (3) Challenges. We are asking that you do 2 of them a week (of course you can pick all 3), you can switch them out each week throughout the month as long as you do at least 2 of them, for example, week 1 you can do 1 and 3, week 2, 2 and 3 etc.
Come back at the end of each week and let us know how you did. This will start on Sunday June 30th just to make it easier to track: emoticon

1)Physical Challenge: Do a minimum 120 minutes a week on your rebounder: This can be 2 days of an hour each, 4 days at 30 minutes, or however you want to do it. Short 10 minute spurts throughout the day if you want (if you presently can't use your rebounder for some reason, then shoot for the same challenge in another form of exercise) emoticon

2) Nutritional challenge: Make sure you are within your calorie range at least 6 out of 7 days, logging in each day to find this out helps! (remember being below your calories can be just as bad as being above-try to have a balance throughout the week, if you are higher one day then go a little lower the next) emoticon

3) Team Forum challenge: Huddle 4 times a week, post a motivational quote on this link to your fellow team members 4 times a week, or 4 days a week pick a different team member and visit their page to leave a positive comment. emoticon

Back up challenge: If you already do most of the things listed above then this is your back-up plan:
1) Add something different, 60 minutes a week, to your current exercise plan. So if you work out 6 days a week and you do your rebounder for 30 minutes..then add on 10 minutes of core work, or yoga etc each day.
2) Add something new to your nutritional intake each week, a new fruit, new vegetable, new recipe etc.
3) There is no back-up to 3, if you already do any of that, pick one of the other choices, or make it more days :)
