Krissy, Rose, Melody and me! How fun it's going to be to encourage and support each other through the month of June!
emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I know I stated that I want to lose 5% of my current weight, but one of the things the Health Coach manual strongly encourages is process-based goals over outcome-based goals. (Weight loss is an outcome-based goal.)

A process-based goal is more of something that we can outright control: I will exercise for 45 minutes at moderate intensity five days per week.

So... keeping in mind that I recently twisted my ankle severely and my back has been bothering me, I want to start my first week with three bouts of 10-minute cardio exercise, plus three back strengthening exercises.

This also fits the SMART principle of making one's goals Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Timely!

Then I plan for my Week 2 goals to change as my back and ankle improves!

Off to do my first 10 minutes of the day!

Hello, I've added rebounding as my June goal, which by the way I started today. I'm already tracking on S/P and WW. Also in the 5% weight loss challenge, which is keeping me accountable. I'm excited to see where the extra bouncing will take me. I sure feel the jiggle when I bounce.Time will tell.

Hi Melody!

You have LOTS of clear goals! And variable too. Sounds g-r-e-a-t!

One of my other Spark groups wanted to start a challenge today, instead of waiting until 6/1. Since we all knew about it close to a week ago, most of us were ready to go today.

My goal (whether it's attained in June or not) is to lose 5% of my total body weight: 8.4 lbs. THAT would get me out of the 160s and would please me VERY much!

And... losing that 8.4 lbs would drop my BMI down, as well as improve my Waist-to-Hip ratio. I'll take it!

That is a great June Goal Susy! I have to get better at tracking my nutrition, I start the day out strong but then usually leave off dinner. ( I have started mine as well)

My June Goals are about the same as May's were as they didn't get accomplished :(
1)Study for my Group X III Cert (hope to finish it by end of June or early July)
2)Training for Half Marathon in August
3)Succeed at Jillian Michaels Making The Cut 30 day program (on day 3 now)
4)Lose approx 1.5-2lbs a week-more interested in non-scale victories though so this is just a basis to go by.
5) Keep up the clean eating that I have finally settled back in to!

Thank you, Melody, for starting this thread!

This may, or may not, sound stupid... but my ONLY goal for May was to study for my ACE Health Coach certification test at the end of the month. That is ALL I did up until 5/24 when I took the proctored exam--and I passed! W..h..e..w..!!!

So now June has new goals. Thankfully, they are goals that have me tracking my nutrition, as well as my fitness.

So: My only goal(s) for June is to TRACK.

I've figured my Basal Metabolic Rate using the Owens Equation. So that's a big help towards my nutrition intake.

Also, I have two options (really MORE than two options) for my fitness. Snap Fitness is offering 30-Days Free... or I can sign up for 8 weight training classes for $30 at a local hospital.

Snap Fitness (I used to work at one of those!) is closest to my location. But... the local hospital has designated days/hours for me to show up. Sometimes I need the pre-determined structure!

Stay tuned; I'll let ya know!

June is right around the corner. Time to revisit your goals..have you met some that you set and need new ones, or maybe tweak them a bit...share with us and let us congratulate you on ones you have reached and cheer you on for any new ones that you have set:
SparkPeople's Coach Tanya says:
Visualizing and goal setting are important steps to success, especially when it comes to weight loss.

Also if you have any ideas for June Challenges to set for the team share them here or in an email to any of the Team Leaders!
