Something that I'm finding that sometimes saves money is buying nuts on sale and using my food processor to make my own nut butter. I am a huge nut butter fan. It takes about 5 mins or more to form into the butter. It goes through several stages before looking like nut butter, and just when you're about to give up on it, it starts smoothing out.
Anyway, I prefer it this way. You can use any kind of nuts. If you don't like plain nut butter you can buy the honey roasted, salted, add flavorings, etc. For me, I use plan to avoid the sugar. Now this won't be a cheap recipe unless you buy the nuts on sale or go some place that sells something like peanuts cheap.
