I believe HP can and does restore me to a sane way of eating...by always leading me back to OA and by relieving the desire to overeat every time I ask.

My hope today, is that this sadness will be relieved and I will get on the right meds soon. I know I am actually happy and grateful but I can't seem to get past the sadness that has taken hold.

In Step 2 we look to hope- hope to recover and stay in recovery.

I have hope to stay in recovery, I fear going back out there in the food. My life is so much better now. I have normal moods, balance, peace, contentment, and guidance in all decisions.

I fear going back to the food and the sad, depressed way I was. There is a lot of work in keeping sober, it is worth doing and I enjoy it but I worry about skipping a day then another, or when I go away or have big schedule changes. I'm still in my first year of sobriety and I fear I'm in the "pink cloud" and not really fully working the program that will be permanent.

I have today, and today I am working the program, following guidance of my HP. That is all I can do. My hope is it is enough.

Hi Liz,

I'm in a step class and one of the suggestions is to make a daily gratitude list. I like to add to my list all day (not feasible for everyone)- I add small, thanks for yummy coffee, big things a job so I can pay my bills, etc. This has really made my sobriety- I feel more positive. It is difficult for me to accept I am not in control of my addiction.

The new workbook is great, but not having that yet, don't let that stop you, the 12 & 12 OA or AA book is what the workbook is based on.

I'm so glad you are here with us! Never give up- falling down means you either made a mistake (happens to all of us) or you may not have found what works for you. You are worth all the amazing things this life has to offer.

Step 2 is getting more in tune with my Higher Power and focus on positive notes, if I fall down, I will pick myself up and keep going.
I still need to get the workbook

Step 2 is all about hope for me. Hope in my Higher Power, hope that the program will work, hope that I don't give up/in. Hope that I can recover and stay recovered. Hope that I don't have to be miserable and lonely.

I wish you all the Hope this step and program offers.

Yes! I think I am on Step 3, but I've just received my Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions workbooks, so I'm going back to the first 2 to be sure I truly "get it." Thanks for sharing!
