I always take a packed lunch to work. Most often I take soup or salad as the main course. I like just a light meal while I'm at work.

I always cook enough the night before to take something to work to eat,, and that way I also avoid , the co-workers that ask me to go with them to the local Mexican restaraunt to eat , which is one place I cant seem to not over eat.

Hey all. I'm in the same boat as many of you - I already pack my lunch. Since starting Spark, though, I've been very aware of what types of foods I'm taking for lunch. I try to be really balanced, ensuring that I'm taking complex carbs, lots of veggies, enough protein to keep me going for the day. I also like that I can keep healthy snacks with me - it allows me to have a few small snacks throughout the day, keeping the hunger at bay.

Current short term goal: Into ONE-derland by the end of August! YES! *** ACHIEVED! Aug. 11, 2008 ***

New Goal: 190 lbs by September 30. Update on this goal, Sept. 2/08 - Current weight: 195.6 lbs. Only 5.6 lbs to go to my September goal!
*** Didn't make it to 190, but got done to 193.7! YES!

New Goal: 188 lbs by October 31, that's 5.7 lbs to lose in 1 month.

I am a SAHM, so I don't eat out much, but just as a note - my husband started taking his lunch with him to work everyday instead of grabbing lunch out, and without even trying he lost several pounds right away. This is a great challenge, and one that saves money and calories!

I always bring my lunch. Usually salad and sf chocolate pudding.I do occasionally eat out on thursdays with everyone else, but lately I have been saying no. There are alot of people that eat out everyday and I do not know how they do it. It can get expensive. take care everyone

We can do anything we set our minds to, we just have to set our minds to do it.

Every Monday I put everything except what will spoil in a bag and put it in the frig at work. I have found that already having extra fruits and veggies I don't go to the vending machine when I need a snack.

This week I have strawberries, grapes, deli-meat, wraps, lettuce, cheese and sugar-free pudding in the frig and cottage cheese. So I'm set the week and don't have to think each day.

This week's challenge is to brown bag it --- pack your lunch. Got the day off? Plan lunches for the work week ahead. No lunches to pack? Plan for those times when you're away from home (healthy snacks, etc.).

Packing your lunch ensures that you're eating healthier and saving money. Try lean proteins, whole grain bread, fruit, vegetables with dip, and broth-based soups for a filling meal.
