Speaking of dancing...Music seems to be contorted to me (with hearing aids) so I seldom listen to it - however, I do appreciate some slow easy going music and singers from years past, but it is so seldom I forget who and what...however, I took line dancing lessons for the last few years and love it. I don't need music to practice the steps and I do this often... Often in the kitchen when I'm waiting for the microwave or while doing the laundry waiting for it's finish...My fitbit shows it too with extra steps! I can fill up a final 200 more steps pretty quickly!

My DH loves biking. I have a bike but in the last two years am afraid of falling (never fell but have heard of others). So I've let my bike sit...DH has been researching a trike for me - brought some of them home for me to try... or me to the shop ...Yesterday we bought one that I think I like...just have to get used to it. It is not big and bulky but has 3 wheels and sit up straight as in a car...we'll see...

Jackie I'm a Halloween baby but many years ago.

5'1.5" - I shrunk from 5'4"
Summer: Minesota
Winter: Arizona (as of Dec. '08)

Personal goal is to weigh in 159 by the end of March 2017. I did not make my previous goal so must do better...I ACHIEVED THE GOAL OF REACHING 151 IN MAY 2013. A LOSS OF 37 POUNDS! Summer of 2014 I gained 10 pounds of it back while traveling to the BVI's and Ireland so I have set a new goal for 2017 to be back to below 155.

What a great idea! I'm going to think about it, okay? I'm really tired right now.
Thanks for the ideas!

Build up the Culture of Life!
We can change hearts, by bringing up the next generation to embrace Life at an early age.
If only moral people are willing to do that, mass abortion will end.

That is all really awesome Carol. Now I want to listen to some oldies and jump up and dance too. That reminded me of Sugar, Sugar by the Archies. For some reason when ever I hear that song it reminded me of my aunt. When I asked her about it, she said we would dance together to that song. She described my dance moves and it had me laughing! emoticon So when we get together we've made an agreement to dance to it! I'm going to try and replicate her decription of my four year old self dance moves.

I was never a Girl Scout, but I led my daughter's Brownie troop for 3 years. Out of that came the habit of trying to do at least one good deed for someone else every day. Sometimes it's simple: when I return my grocery cart to the parking lot holder I make sure the carts are nested and in line to make more room for other carts and also make it easier for the grocery staff to collect them. Other times it takes more effort. Yesterday I drove my grandson to his girlfriend's house for a big semi-formal prom date; he doesn't drive and his mother was out of town and the girlfriend would drive the rest of the evening. For myself? I was listening to oldies on PBS and they played a lot of songs from my old Richard Simmons workout tapes. For one particular song I stood up and really moved my body - stretches, swinging my arms, lunges, all kinds of stuff, giving my body a movement workout it has needed. I need to do that more often.

Carol

How is everyone doing on their personal goals?

This week I thought we could do a two-fold goal;
this week, hopefully daily, do something nice for someone, but then do something nice for yourself too.

Women seem to be especially bad at finding a good balance of treating themselves and putting everyone first.

But what do men do to treat themselves? I'm at a loss. So I'm hoping everyone will share what they do for someone as well as what they do for themselves.

Also, the nice thing can be for a family member. It's said that sometimes we treat others better than our own family and that isn't right. (On a side note, this year I have been writing down special things my son does that I appreciate. The other day we had a lunch date and while we were waiting for the hostess to be seated, and elderly couple was leaving and my son held the door open for them. I could have kicked myself for not realizing that would be a courteous thing to do. The man was behind the wife and he was using a cane. I turned and noticed my son was a step ahead of me. It really just warmed my heart. So I wrote that down and put it in the jar. He'll get to read them at Christmas time. It's one of those gifts that doesn't cost anything).

I'm looking forward to hearing what you all decided to do.
