This week is rest week for me.
Between Mesocycle 2 & 3

Lots of dancing, yoga, stretching.
Today I go to the Chiropractor.
I really need it.

Just wanted to drop in and say "hello". I can't wait for the shock cardio DVD's. I am taking the day off today because I'm very sore and tired. The time change on the east coast kills me - even though we technically gained an hour. It's so dark at night and getting cold outside....blah. Anyway, my goal is always to stay in the top 10 for exercise minutes each month in the "Cathe" group and the "30 Something" group. Also, I will be moving soon so I am sure I will get a lot of minutes for packing and moving. :-) I'm looking forward to some of the short (25 min) HIT workouts from shock cardio to supplement my walking the dogs and packing/moving.

I just got my collagevideo.com cataloque. he he... I circled about EIGHT dvds I wanna get.

A couple of Kelly Coffey workouts, the INTENSE REEBOK MOVES (Gin Miller; I like her), Jari Love, EXTREME Ripped 1000 (I already have Ripped 1000), Petra Kolber's Bootcamp Boogie, Amy Bento's Kickbox Surge & Core Training (looks REALLY GOOD), Amy's Hi-Low Knockout, Kathy Smith's Step Workout (I don't mind some of her workouts).
Since I have ALL of Cathe's DVDs, and not that I am bored with Cathe, but I think the odd workout with other instructors keeps it FRESH, I think I will order these.
I see collagevideo.com now takes paypal payments. Even easier! LOL!

OMG! Ilaria even SOUNDS tough! What a great voice! Love it!

It's not an even flow, but it gives a chance for BREATHING. :o)

That would be cool if it did mix it up each time but it doesn't.
The Scrambled Cardio Blast does some of the blasts out of order from the basic workout. I think it does a couple of the blasts twice (but I can't remember which one). The Ultra Cardio Blast does each blast two times in a row. It's a great calorie burner but I wish there was an option to do all the blasts twice but mix them up so you don't do them back to back.
I think I like the Premixed Cardio Blasts better than the whole workout. I think of DrillMax as a good cardio workout.

No, the premix doesn't change.....you can do different varieties though, ultra and scrambled are both really tough, blast after blast after blast.

I did Scrambled Cardio Blast from Drill Max today. Does it mix up a different routine everytime you do it? I haven't done many premixes...

There is a thread on her forum to report any bugs in the Workout Manager. I discovered it after I did STS and don't remember all the bugs I experienced.
They did a modification to the program while I was doing STS. They added the feature that allows you to make notes while I was on Meso 3.
I think they regularly make improvements to the site which is good.

She posted the rotation late this month. This is the first time I've followed her rotation. I don't think she had it posted as prominently as she usually does. Thanks for posting the link Laura.

I really like the Cathe Workout Manager. If you log your workout on the calendar you will see a selection for STS workouts. When you select the disc you did, it shows your target weights and gives you a place to record your actual weights/reps. You can even enter notes about the exercise, which was a new feature added when I was mid-way through STS.

There were a few bugs though. It never let me enter a weight for the calf raise. There were a few other exercises that I wasn't able to update but I forget what they were. There were also some exercises that were listed NA for weights but Cathe used weights.

I just need to play with the site awhile, to learn how to change the weights used rather than the target one that the work out card generated from the rep tests (help for the future workouts)

KFEARS - I know I have the endurance for the 1/2 marathon. My worry is my left knee starts to get an attitude whenever I run more than 6 miles.
The Dallas/Ft Worth 1/2 marathon sounds tempting in Feb. I knew a group that did it a few years ago when I lived in N. Texas.
Winter training is easier here than summer training. It gets too hot after 9 am to run in the morning during the summer so that makes scheduling long runs a challenge.

I'm following Cathe's Nov rotation instead of STS so today I did Muscle Endurance. I'm one day behind her schedule because I was out of town at the beginning of the week.

I just posted on the other thread, but I will post here also...

Also, I just did LEGS. My 1RM are ALL WRONG. So, after I complete the workout, I adjusted my 1RM. Here is an easy way to do it...
After a workout, if you find you need to adjust your 1RM, take the weight you actually used to complete the REP SEQUENCE... times it by 100. Now, for Disc 3 the % of 1RM is 60%. So, if you take your answer and divide by 60, you will get your 1RM, without having to do the test all over again, plus it should actually be more accurate. Don't forget to update it on Cathe's website for future workouts...

This is my second time through STS.
I've decided that when I miss a workout I simply miss it. It is to frustrating to try to make up by either doubling up or using up my rest day.

I've been doing the miss it-skip it 'method' for over a year now. I don't get nearly as pressured.
The goal for me is to be better tomorrow than I was today.

Whatever works for the individual is what works. emoticon

Next week is all yoga/stretch for me.
Can't wait!!!

I missed one mid meso 2 and I hated being behind. I kept telling myself I'd catch it up, but never did. I ended up doing 1 workout on Monday of my recovery week. Blah. I'd best get working out today or I'll end up in the same predicament. LOL

Good Luck Indy! You should be fine if you have trained well. I've run 2 half marathons. My running group friends are trying to get me to run a full, but they want to do the one in Dallas/Fort Worth in February. I'm still undecided there. Not sure I want to train all winter and over the holidays. I did run 10.8 on Saturday because it was my rest week for STS. I try to do a long run on Saturday, but since starting back to STS I've been lazy and only done my regular 5 on Saturday except for active recovery weeks.

I started Meso 3 this week. Gotta love STS. It keeps me exercising even when I'd rather sleep in because I don't want to get off schedule. I've been a slacker on the abs this week though. Should be doing those right now rather than typing.

It's 13.1 miles. The San Antonio marathon is a Rock and Roll marathon which means it will be a big one with lots of people. One of the guys at work that ran the marathon last year said they have lots of concerts along the route and it's a very motivational environment.
I haven't run that far before - 9 miles is my longest recorded run so I may be getting in over my head on this one.

You all are making me want to do a second round of STS with you. I know you will all love it.
I am following Cathe's November rotation so I can take advantage of downloading all of her workouts.
Today I did the first Plyo Legs (week 1 of Meso 3), so at least I'm getting some STS in with you all.
I will be running my first half-marathon next weekend so I won't push it too hard on my workouts this week.

I have/had valslides which work well but I can't seem to find them. However, I found something that works as well, furniture movers. One thing nice about the furniture movers are much cheaper asnd I got a pack of 8, 4 big ones and 4 small ones.

I didn't get the slanted risers; I bought myself an incline/decline bench instead.

I've been off track this week.
I was off work last week 5 days (doing manual labor around here -- found a leak in the roof that needed patched....thank goodness for J.(son's best friend who lives near by) ...That was a workout in itself...sore for days.

Then when I got back on Monday I had a TON of stuff to do.
9+ hr days makes for one tired Terri.

I need YOGA.....next week it is on schedule for the entire week. YIPEE
