... you might want to ask your doctor what your glomular filtration rate (GFR) is.

Protein in the urine can also be because of kidney damage due to the diabetes. It's something that needs to be addressed as soon as possible because there ARE things you can do to help yourself if that's the case, but not if the doctor doesn't explain it to you.

I have that problem... there is a little natural fluctuation, but a good GFR is in the 90's. Mine is 31. That means basically that I have 31% of my kidneys that actually work.

P.S. Stress can be a factor too! So don't stress over it, just look for answers and do what you can do!

"The real secret of success is enthusiasm..." thanks, Walter P. Chrysler. I believe it. That's what I want in my life--to give my imagination a chance, to live with energy and enthusiasm!
P.S. I looked up enthusiasm, and it says the root words mean God within... interesting...!

Ralph Waldo Emerson said 'Life belongs to the energetic.' But you don't have to be frenetic and hyper--some energy is quiet and steady, like a heartbeat... and that works too! LOL

Life comes one mome

Excess protein in the urine is generally in response to low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). It's likely to occur when a person is taking insulin and not so common with oral medications. The key is to tie your meals to your medication so that your blood sugar won't go too low after taking insulin. Another cause is over exercising resulting in low blood sugar and protein in the urine. The key is to time food and medication. If this is happening frequently, you may need a medication change.
