I know the feeling been their where people give me fudge for Christmas and I turn,
around and give it too someone else lol...but I know it's wrong but since I became a,
diabetic had to do something instead of eating that fudge.

Looked good but cannot eat it since I became a diabetic.

gosh I thought it was just me. I have a love relationship with chips. I can stay away from junk most of the time excluding chips. hubbie is the world worst sweet tooth demon. he brings in requested baked goods. I have grown so desperate I told him to keep it in the car and outside. He hid a cake in the laundry room. It is so hard. Times I do not want to see a vegetable. Still i know they are good for you. up and sometimes down. emoticon

I just have trouble staying away from some of the things. Last year one person gave me fudge for Christmas. Fortunately not a whole lot, but more than I should have had. Another person gave me a special kind of cake mix (haven't tried that one). Sometimes I can resist, but not most of the time. I keep trying, though. I would like to eat the carrots and maybe some celery, but I can't chew them, so I end up with the other things that I can and they usually turn out to be high carb.

I hit a plateau last year a bit before the holidays and was stuck on that until about June. Then gained back everything I had lost. I just can't go any lower than I got last year and I can't keep it off.

Thanks Janice and Donna! I bought some new vegetables and some other low carb things to try at the grocery store today. I'm hoping that some new healthy foods will brighten things up for me alittle!

Does anyone else have the holiday diabetic blues? This is my first Christmas season with diabetes. Holiday baking and eating has always been a large part of my family's Christmas. I'm trying very hard to watch what and when I am eating and I have lost 14 pounds so far. My family says I'm not eating enough. How does everyone else deal with being around holiday foods and functions without feeling left out?
