Dry skin? Is that a symptom of "D"? Noticed it too! Thought it was the weather. Darn it!

I can't use moisturizers on a regular basis or I get rashes. But when it gets so bad, I sometimes use coconut oil on the worst areas.

Also, it helps to apply it when fresh out of the shower to "seal" the moisture in....

Thanks everyone! I do drink a lot of water everyday. I will have to pick up a good moisturizer.
Have a great day everyone!

That makes sense- so drink lots of water and use body moisturizer if needed.

My understanding is that when blood sugars get high and urination increases, this can lead to dehydration. It's the dehydration that causes the dry skin so drinking plenty of fluids and water may help.

I use Gold Bond lotion for diabetics. It's a little expensive, but I like it.

I have not experienced dry skin since my diagnosis, however I know that some diabetics definitely do.

Since finding out I am diabetic my skin seems to be really dry. Did anyone else notice dry skin after being diagnosed?
Thanks, Trish
