I drink most of my water at work, I'll let you know where I stand before I leave work.

Thanks for the thoughts Shuttler, just remember though that your body has as much as a 2lb change from day to day with different things including water weight. It also depends on what you eat and the amount of activity you do that day.

Yes water plays a big part of your weight loss journey it helps reduce the toxins amount in your body, helps keep your skin healthy and supple, it even boosts your metabolism. BUT is just 1 act in a 3 act play. You need to eat healthy, exercise regularly and drink your water.

just wanted to say drinking enough water does make a difference...

i've been weighing myself on a daily basis (although the recommended is weekly) and i do see fluctuations when i don't drink enough water.

i'm not exactly dieting or exercising a lot but the moment i get enough water, at least 8 glasses a day, i actually see a loss in weight the next day. on the other hand, if i don't drink enough water, less than 8 glasses, my weight goes right back up the next day...

so... keep drinking...

Sorry I havent been on for a couple of days. I had a rough weekend. Spent it overeating and eating wrong foods. Im not guilty for what I did I needed the stress free thoughts with my diet while I focused on the other stresses in my life.

I haven't tried to sparkling water. I'm always afraid I won't like it. I'm really picky about my drink flavors. I just wish I could be picky about my food. I have found that I really do not want anything but water lately. I haven't even been drinking coffee lately.

I LOVE the flavored sparkling water from wal-mart, kroger, target etc! So cheap and soooo good! My fav is cherry. its easy to drink a liter or 2 per day!

Chansontia- I drink walmart version of crystal light everytime I drink water. I know that for every bottle I drink its 10 cals but right it is the only way I can drink water. I will soon be weaning myself off of it.

Have you tried drinking those flavored sparkling waters? I used to drink those a lot...they're about .50 for a liter @ wally world...they taste good & you get your water in!

It was a little hard for me to quit drinking pop also, but I had the motivation of learning that I am prediabetic. I switched to drinking coffee everyday. That made the caffiene headaches a little easier to manage.

I am getting there. Better and better everyday. It has helped tremendously to join SP and be a part of the different groups. The biggest thing is the weightloss challenge that I joined. Baby Steps!
Sourfishbait- your yesterday was great! Everytime I drink pop I end up not getting my full water intake. So you did great!

I have been with SP since 2006. I have never completed the program (due to nothing other than myself and hating diets). This is the second time that I would have went to stage 2. So Im excited, because this time its going to work.. Im going to make it..

Gypse- You are supposed to go from Fast break to stage 2 after two weeks. There is a thing you can read to before you change the stage that helps determine if you are ready to change. Baby steps is better for you because then you can focus on each habit and change it, which is the way of SP.

Thanks on congrating me on my weight loss.

Chans- Congrats on changing over to water. Drink a smoothie but I consider the smoothie to be more of a breakfast item and i still have my water beside me while I drink it :) I have changed over since July 25th. I have probably had something different 5 times at most since then.

Kels- it is great to go from wanting, needing a soda to enjoying water.

CHANSONTIA, I've found that since I've changed my whole mindset about dieting, and decided that I want to drink more water, I've wanted it more, I don't mind that it tastes like nothing and I just don't want the sugary fizzy stuff :) It's great aye??

I started drinking water only since around Valentines Day & its actually been working very well for me. I stuck to strictly water to drink for about three months (is it weird that I didn't like the taste of water before?) Now I will drink things like tea, coffee or a smoothie on occasion, but don't really feel the desire to that often (water is now what I want mostly:). I have this HUGE cup @ work...I think its about a liter and a half (those huge cups you see @ the gas station)I will drink @ least two of those while I am @ work. My real problem now is that I eat on the go & choose what's convenient over what's healthy.

I am with you! I am a little nervous about starting Stage 2 and don't know how to gage when I am ready. Any advice? I am pretty sure I have the water intake down, and I have finally gotten on the exercise band wagon. Now I am realizing the eating heathly part. It took me a while, but baby steps is all I can do right now.

Congrats on the baby. I have two children now, they are older though. 6 and just a few days away from 9. They are both boys. Nervousness is normal, no matter how many children you have. Enjoy every moment of their lives as a baby, cause they grow up so quickly. Kiss him and tell him you love him everyday. I agree with sourfishbait, sleep when he sleeps, and relax. You will be a wonderful mom. I wish my kids were babies again. I miss those days. Now I will have a first grader and a third grader and they will both be in school full time. I am not sure what I am going to do...:)

MJanelle- Congrats on the baby boy they are lots of fun! My turns two on Oct 9th! He is my first so I understand about being nervous!!

If I could give you any advice it would be when someone offers to help you, take it. In the beginning you will be stretched to your limits and sometimes its best if you do give someone else responsibility. Sleep when ur baby does, you will need all the energy you can get! and enjoy it...

Thanks SourFish. We are having a boy and he's due October 8th. This is our first, so it is a new experience! emoticon I am starting to get nervous about being a mom!

I haven't started my water intake for the day, I usually wait until after breakfast, I like a glass of milk or OJ with my breakfast better than water! But I will be back later on to update!

Welcome everyone,

It is so nice to have you all joining in drinking water and being healthy with us!!
Yesterday I did not make my water total. Close, but not the full amount. I have 6 cups, but today I have already had my 8 cups and I am still going. It is going down smooth today. I also have decided to start getting up earlier and taking a morning walk before my husband gets up for work. 5am comes early, but I am starting small and walking 15-20minutes in the morning. Baby Steps to a healthier me!!

I will join in on this! I am pregnant, so I am not really in for losing weight. I have maintained my weight through my entire pregnancy (not sure how) I have 9 weeks left and I think I have gained MAYBE 5 lbs, but it definitely fluctuates (the doctor's office weighed me in at 224 one day - fully dressed, and the next day I weighed at home and it said 217 - not dressed). So I don't really know.

Kel- Here are a few pointers to help with the water intake and (less potty breaks)
* start slowly when adding more water, that will give your kidneys and bladder time to adjust
* try to drink most of the water before 7 pm .. that will lessen the wake up in the night and potty times
*adding some sliced citrus fruits and letting them sit in a pticher of cold water is refreshing
* hydrate before, during and after workouts. Your muscles need water more during those times than any other.

Hey team,

I never used to drink water. Loved my lemonade, but I've found changing to water has been awesome. Have lost 3kg in the last 2 weeks, all that sugar! Water bores me, but I do like a challenge!!!!!!! Been getting up a few times a night to wee though which is annoying!!

Gypselynn- Dont beat yourself up overing having a pop. I did to yesturday. I had two of them actually, it was during my date with my husband. Sometimes you just need to have the one thing because craving it and then spurging and regreting it isnt healthy.

We have to allow ourselves time and step backs if you want to call it that.

Welcome Ourslun,

I did horrible yesterday. I didn't meet my water intake and I totally splurged on unhealthy food and water. It was dinner, but it was a really late dinner.
So yesterday I had pop! I shared a large pop with my hubby. Today I completely regret it, because I felt sick after dinner last night.
I have learned my lesson though. Onto a new day. Atleast I burned a lot of calories yesterday. Over 1200.
Yesterday: Large pop, 6 cups of water.
So Far Today: 2 cups of water and going! emoticon

one good thing i try to do when my tongue doesn't seem to want water much that day is to make sure after i drink a cup of coffee, i drink 2 cups of water, and i alternate throughout the early part of the day. i can get to 8 pretty quick usually these days, but its good for the coffee drinker because it helps you avoid dehydrating, which coffee does a bit, and in this heat we need water bad.

Thank you. I have just come to the conclusion that it is necessary to my health. So now I keep a few 32oz bottles and force myself to drink them before I drink anything else for the day, with the exception of coffee!
You deserve credit also! You have also met your goal of 64oz!

I stopped drinking pop just recently also. I have now found that I do not really like the taste. I really only have any when I want to have a drink with friends. I used to drink all kinds of junk, energy drinks...I quit drinking those also. I buy the 0cal, 0sugars, 0carb lemonade and tea for my hubby and children, but I do not really like them. I do not like the really sweet things. I have basically cut down everything buy unsweetened tea, coffee (a must), and water. I keep a couple of 32oz water bottles in the fridge and drink out of those only.

Thanks for joining me! I stopped drinking pop in July. Water is all I drink anymore. I do add crystal light to my water,which I will eventually slow down and stop, because for every bottle of water (I refill the same two bottles, contantly) it is 10 calories, plus my favorite crystal light (wild strawberry) has caffiene in it.

Im not going to be horrible with no pop. I will occasionally have one or two, but now its going to be left up to special occasion times. :)

I will join you. I need to step up my game and get involved more in my weightloss journey.
Maybe this will help me to maintain my goal of drinking atleast 64oz of water a day!! Feel free to friend request me.

Yesterday's total: 64oz of water and 32 oz of unsweetened tea.
I wish everyday could be like yesterday. emoticon

Again, im the only one continueing to post in hopes someone else joins me in this needed challenge.

Todays total: 1 cup of water/ 1/2 cup of milk

Yesturday total:- 10 cups of water/ 1 12 oz smoothie.

I can do anything through Christ who strengthens me.

Todays totals: 1 12 oz smoothie

Yesturday totals: 80 ozs of water (10 cups)/ 1 cup of milk

I didnt see this as a challenge. I think we should get together and challenge ourselves to make sure we get our 64 ozs or 8 cups of water a day.

Yes it is all over SP but we need to be accountable everday for what we eat and drink! Lets power together and get hydrated!!
