Wow, major POOR eating while on vacation!! Seriously, I weighed 153 when I got home on Friday (a 10 pound gain in a week!) I tried to make good choices, but just couldn't make it work. I chose veggies and fruits for sides, and bought/brought healthy snacks. However, portions were out of control and it seemed the more I ate, the hungrier I was!

Oh well, March is a new month. No major changes on the horizon or out-of-the-ordinary events coming up, so I AM getting back on track this month. I will NOT see 150 EVER again! Working in intervals and circuit training to boost my heart rate and get my strength training in.

Didn't make my goal, but I DID stay out of 150ville for the entire month. This is a good thing. Also, when I got back from my run yesterday I SAW 145 on the scale for the first time in a long time. That was something. Then I had some water and... well it was still cool. Something to look forward to next month.

Total loss - .5 lb. Aw mannnnn.

*** Disappointed in myself got discouraged by my plateau and fell off wagon all week, no water, no exercise, however did watch what I ate, BUT didn't journal it.. :( , back on track starting today, no more excuses, I want this new healthy lifestyle for me! I am up by 2 lbs from when I was stuck in plateau...But I'm back on board, life is way to precious to give up on it!

I missed all my workout this week, I think I have sprained my ankle, no excuse though I should have done some upper body this week! but I made my goal, I tracked my food all week and I know it helped a ton!

I did have a lot to eat yesterday and didn't track. Plus, I got my TOM today(sorry about the tmi), so I think I will notice some changes by next week.)

Hi everybody! Sorry that I have been missing in Action this month, I have really been struggling with time management issues. I started a very part time call in job, my first job in over 10 years! I have still been dealing with vertigo issues too, and trying to get refocused on my weight loss. I think I am finally there, and I am back to cheer everyone on, and seek encouragement from the gang too! There is only one week left for February, but I am ready to get to work, with a very small goal of about 1/2 a pound this week. I look forward to getting a head start for March! It is great to see that you guys have kept on with the 5 pound challenge, what a great turnout too! Keep up the good work folks!

I add soy protein and hemp seeds to muffins for the kids - I can never get enough protein (or, uh, FOOD! in them. They LOVE edamame (soy beans!) too. I sometimes give them Carnation Instant Breakfast in a shake for dessert too. I prefer 'real food' but I get desperate sometimes!

Today's meal plan puts me in range for everything; literally at the highest it possibly could be for fat content. I haven't been following the meal plan usually, but decided to look at it to see if it balanced out for everything.

I think I should actually get there on the protein today, but usually it is a struggle and I think I will be over on fat for the day because of trying to increase protein.

I have been more conscious of this because of trying to help my boys put weight back on after their wreck and being in the hospital. I have been thinking of getting them some protein powders to try to help them rebuild muscle. I may try some myself as well. Muscle milk or something like it for them; I'll look for the Spring Valley for me!

KT- I always have a shake mid-morning with 1/2 banana (or other fruit), 1 scoop of Spring Valley soy protein powder and 1 C skim milk. This is a good, easy way to bump up the protein intake...just a suggestion.

The problem with playing with skunks is, you both end up stinkin'...and the skunk likes it! So done playing with skunks! Surround yourself with people who lift you up and support you!

KT, does your meal plan give you all your calories for the day? I wonder how much 'wiggle room' those are meant to have, since there aren't different plans for men/women or different age groups, yet there are different caloric/nutritional needs. I'm not sure.

Is anyone else having problems reaching the Spark recommendations for protein intake? I noticed that I am usually below the target. However, I added up the recommended meal plan from Spark, and it is also less than what they recommended for me. I hit my targets on everything else yesterday, but target for protein was 60+, and I took in 46g. Today's meal plan totals 47g, so I don't know what to think! If the recommended meal plan isn't reaching that mark, should I be concerned that I'm not?

This week has been difficult. Struggles abound! Having trouble getting my heart rate up on my walks; eating healthy foods, but finding that I am snacking way too much. Too much is still too much, even if it is healthy! Boys are struggling with their online classes, so lots of stress with helping them catch up. Plus the normal, everyday stresses of a large family. It all really added up this week! I also think I am taking in too much fiber. Not sure how to remedy that one, but working on a plan!

Plan to turn things around:
- track food intake (every bite!!)
- only eat when I can sit down and eat like it is a true meal, not standing in the kitchen, grabbing something quick!
- brush teeth after every meal or snack (I find this deters me from eating more)
- find ways to step up the exercise to get my heart rate back up and burn more calories (walk/run intervals?)

I didn't weigh in this week because I really blew it. I couldn't face looking at the scale. We lost power over the weekend due to big storm and I started to get bored and restless and eat a lot of bad choices from the fridge that would have gone bad otherwise. I am going to start from scatch this week and get down to 163 by next Sunday. It will take a lot of motivational talking to myself but I don't want to give up on my goal. Just keep going!

I am part of Biggest Loser Challenge where I work and weigh in on Wednesdays. This is the first challenge I am taking part in on SparkPeople. I have lost 10 lbs since January 7th and am feeling great! Hope I meet my February goal!!
