January was a bit of a bust for me on the scale. I have taken the time to reexamine my workouts and work on a new schedule/program for February. I joined the Y challenge at my gym so I'll be working with a personal trainer and a team so that should help.

I've upped my mileage considerably, without injury, and broke every PR running this month. I struggled with a lot of pain but kept on going. My nutrition has been great - and I started sharing my tracker to keep myself accountable.

So I'm feeling good about my direction right now - even though the scale isn't cooperating with me. I'll go into February with the same goal as January - to get out of 150ville - but if I can't do it next month I really WILL cry!

I need to really refocus on my food intake. Also, I need to make a plan to incorporate some strength training in my regime again. Those are my two areas of focus for the next 5 weeks.

Darn it! Why is this so difficult? I gained this past week because I made every excuse not to exercise; I was tired; I had a cold; there was something good on TV; I had other things to do. And then when I realized that I was loosing the battle I gave in and had two portions of dinner, three beers with my friend and a twinky! I enjoyed my week but I will enjoy being healthy and fit so much more. I am focused this week on portion control and regular exercise. I want to loose the pounds I gained this week by the end of January. I need to regain control and just do it. Let's go team!

Sometime we are like LITTLE FAT BURNING MACHINES and just go down Down and more down.... I know how hard AND DEPRESSING it is when we our body takes a break and work it's way up and down annoying 5 lbs....

It might help if you change a little your routine a little. For example increase calories to your max for day 1 go to the low to mid range next 3 on the 4th day increase it to the max again, low to mid again for 2 and max again... Do it for 2 weeks and it will help you push your metabolism to it's max... It worked for me.
WorkOut wise your can do it the other way around...

I just recieved this from SP...

"When you do the same exercises in the same order over and over again, your muscles get smart. They become efficient and aren't challenged as much, leading to plateaus in strength gain and weight loss. Every once in a while, change it up for a week or so and you should continue to see results. "

Jan 15 - goal 148, actual: 155 - sheesh!!! What is the DEAL? This is SO like my usual. Doing everything 'right' and gaining weight. grrrr...

My scales are up another lb from last Friday, but that's okay - I had a very over indulgent weekend, worth every extra calorie!! Hopefully I can pull a loss for next week, I've only lost 1lb this month!

I am doing the SP bootcamp and just jumped into SP in full force and so far 7.8 pounds lost in January...Wow!!!. I will keep it up to see how much I can get at the end of January...

I missed a posting of my friday weigh in because... well I had some family issues that were more important.
Just popping in to read everyone's progress. Wow so many new people --- good for y'all. This is a great challenge. Hats off to those that are meeting their goals--- yay you!!!! I read some confessions, some re-evaulations, and some struggles. Its certainly not easy, yet y'all are focusing on yourself to be more healthier and fitter. Can't wait to read more.

Well, I have gained back a couple of pounds. I have been walking and have added in some strength training as well. I really need to get my diet back on track!
It is hard when the boys have appointments throughout the week, and we end up eating fast food lunches! I can find healthy choices for me, but lately have found myself nibbling on their leftovers! I really need to stop doing that! At least I know what I need to do!
Bought a "new" (to me)elliptical today from the fitness consignment shop, probably getting a new (truly) treadmill from the same place. Checking on brands and reviews. Feel like I got a really good deal, even if it is used. $300 and it has the power adjustable ramp, iFit technology, automatic ramp and resistance adjustment, and a built-in fan. Working on getting the fitness room set up!

Good job to everyone who lost weight this week! Keep plugging away, every little bit counts!



I need to really refocus on my food intake. Also, I need to make a plan to incorporate some strength training in my regime again. Those are my two areas of focus for the next 5 weeks.
