emoticon emoticon emoticon to everyone who participated in the challenge!

I have enjoyed doing this challenge and always do! We just got back from Florida and I was pleasantly surprised that I didn't gain weight. But I got up every morning and went to the hotel gym. Even dragged my DH! He hates it!

I've had knee problems since November and I'm tired of dealing with it so I'm going to a knee specialist. Hope to get some answers.

Until the next time!

Thank you, Sharon, for being a devoted Spark leader. and more!
This site wouldn't exist without you.

I will check back later.

Lorraine should arrive today and she has the flu. She has driven 3 days to get here and got over the pass without snow. She lucked out.
I am praying that I don't catch it again. I am just starting to feel good.

She says when she gets the flu she takes aspirin and lets it run the course. This is NOT Good. That means that it has traveled from her chest into her nose and now she is blowing and hacking every 10 seconds. It turns my stomach. Well, I take Sudafed and it has cleared my sinuses up in two days.

She has been grumpy even in her text. So we will see how far we get without her bitching.
I know it takes two but enough is enough.

Will be back to see the results ....Hugs all.

Thanks Sharon for your work and kindness in this challenge. I wish I had been able to do more. I will continue to work at eating healthier and continue to learn more about my own body and hunger signals.

I've spent so many years eating "plans" that I don't listen to my own body signals much of the time. I'm still a work in progress.

Have a great day.

Brenda - I loved the pickle! Thanks for your kind words!

We just got back from the breakfast buffet. Today it featured an egg casserole w/ham, peppers, onions and lots of cheese. Also cinnamon french toast and bacon. I did eat a little of each. I avoided the other bar with muffins, fruit, toast, english muffins and all the other things. I am just glad I weighed in before I ate. I walked more this week and I guess it helps more than I realize as I lost 1.8 lbs - yeah me! Like Tammy, I'm pretty happy with my total of 8.6 lbs in the eight weeks. That's a little over 1 lbs a week. At least it was going down and not up like previous to the challenge!

SEK - what a great loss this week. Sorry it was the results of being sick! Feel better soon.

Peggy - good luck at the District Arts and Craft Show. You can be proud of how far you have already come.

Mary - I've forgotten the recipe you were going to post but I remember I wanted it to so I'll keep my eye out for it.

Tessa - great job with this challenge. You make us all proud that you come back from vacation with such a nice loss!

Lots of good losses this week so keep the losses coming!

I was up this morning - emoticon - am happy about my progress overall, just wish I hadn't shown a gain this last week. If I stress on it too much, I will begin a spiral of gains, so I sure don't want to do that! emoticon

Good morning everyone!! It's 62 and after breakfast I'm on my way to a District Arts and Crafts show. My purple afghan and a photo of Adin playing soccer won blue ribbons at our craft show so they go on to District.

Jerry is going with the band to play at a deployment of the troops. Too bad I have to miss that because I love when they play marches.

Hi everyone. Have been busy being the "carpool" person. Taking kids to and pick up from school, going to visitation with mom, having other grands who need me, It's been a busy week. The house is a mess, but it will be what it is.

Have been good at eating veggies. Did stop and get a sandwich yesterday when I was running. It was very tasty but I paid later as it was higher in fat than I've been eating. Poor gall bladder whined all night.

Ruthann, it's good you found your keys. I like the idea of a key finder. I've lost mine a couple of times and it has been a week or so to a few months before finding them. Each time there were in a strange place. Get some rest and have a good weekend.

Have a great day everyone.

Ok, I had that good loss this morning I was looking for, now I just have to hang onto it for tomorrow. We had lunch out with friends today but I was good. Now I just have to be careful tonight. Darrell is playing at the retirement place his BIL lives and he always likes to treat us to something.

Catch you all later.

TGIF! I am so ready to WI for the challenge. My weight is still down this morning. I will be so miffed if it goes up by morning! I will eat mindfully today, for sure!

Ruthann - glad you found your keys. Norm lost the MH keys just before we left and we struggled for a couple days and finally found them under the driver seat of the MH!

The sun is peeking out today so hopefully we are in for a great weekend!

Hi All,

I had a gain at TOPS today but I'm hoping that my hard work will pay off tomorrow and hold for the Sat weigh in. And then of course keep going down. My scale hasn't moved since it went up on Monday.

We spent the afternoon looking at flooring and things for the living room. And Darrell got his prized piece of oak that he had spotted in the random oak bin. That's where he gets his good pieces of oak and then works them into what they're supposed to look like. Sharon, I'm sure Norm will know what that is like.

Well I have some paper work to do for TOPS so I best get to it.

Morning Fellow Challengers!
I can't believe it is Thursday morning already! My weight is down so I'll work hard to hold the loss for Saturday. How is everyone doing on our no gain week?

Ruthann - you just got too much going on! That's why you lost your keys. I sure hope you can find them today. I'm glad Lorraine will be there in a few days. Even though she keeps you busy, you can relax and have fun with her.

Peggy - it seems like I always need veggies, fruit not so much. I'm due to go get more myself. Good luck at the WW scale today!

Good morning everyone:
Yesterday was interesting.
Cuz place has tons and I mean tons of artificial flowers all over it. (Ugly) The yard is nice without them. I filled my car to the top with them and brought them home to the yard sale. I will separate them and then keep what I want and sell the rest for my Cuz.
I went back and filled my car with really nice pictures that the old owners had left. Going into the yard sale. Terry's garage is bursting.
Today I will move a ton of pots nice and not so nice. FOR the yard sale. My car looks like a disaster. I had a plastic tablecloth down so I would wreck my car and Terry was too quick for me. I never treated my old car like this. Moving the pots today and then I will find a car wash to see if they can get al this crap out of my car.

Well, the high light of my day is I moved my car from across the street into Cuz parking area and my back latch got out of sync and I have to shut it and open it by hand until the automatic thing works. That was the last time that I saw my car keys. I can't find them anywhere. I keep wondering if my CUZ picked them up and threw them in her purse by mistake.

I got home and emptied the car 2nd load and NOTHING. I know for a fact.....I will get me a tab locator so that when this happens I can find them. Thank God that I had the 2nd key car key with me but now I don't have a key to Terry's house.
still fighting this flem in my throat and I keep on trucking, but one thing is that when I fall asleep it could be anywhere that I am relaxing. I washed a ton of towels for Cuz last night. And on top of that made Chicken rice soup, picked up our house and did some mending.
You gotta admit that I haven't sat still very long.

Meeting my Cuz at 9 am. They are tearing out all the carpet and she is replacing it with Pego flooring. She has asthma and can't stand carpets or rugs.

OK....Which me luck finding my keys. I should go to a car wash and maybe they can find them?????? Keeping busy. 4 more days Lorraine will arrive. I hope she makes it through the passes with no inccident. Ok, I can worry about that later. Bye emoticon

WG - It was our son not my hubby with the job issues. My hubby's been retired for some time now. I've gotten into watching the Olympics also. I hate politics so it's sports or the cooking shows, oh and I do like the Hallmark channel except they're having a lot of reruns now. I'm finding sports I didn't enjoy before. I agree with Sharon, leave politics out of it.

TC - The gabapentin helps some but some days are worse than others. I have some permanent numbness by some toes on both feet. I know there is other meds out there but both I and my Drs have felt there are less side effects from this. I've done a lot of research on them.

HI everyone.

It's nice to hear all of your stories. It makes me feel better. I have to laugh about some things and smile about others. I certainly have sympathy for those problems so many of you have.

Arlene, glad you got a nap after a poor sleep. It makes a huge difference. I'm so glad your hubby found a good position without having to relocate. It is so hard when that happens.

Mary, it is true that eating healthy and being fit require a lot of planning. It is nice when it can be more automatic but it takes a long time and practice to get there.

I'm enjoying the Olympics as well. It has been fun seeing some contests that were ignored in the past. I'm exhausted. I'll be glad to get some sleep since I can't catch up in the morning any more.

My kids started doing their own laundry when they turned 10 or 11. They each had their own basket and had to take care of their own wash. I did towels but they did their own bedding. It is interesting how they actually took care of their clothes after that. Laundry is a life skill and my kids learned. My DIL has a "laundry day" for each of her kids and they are doing their own as well. Even the 8 year old does hers. The 5 year old gets some help but she sorts and folds.

They all knew how to wash and had learned the hard lessons much earlier. They often do laundry better than their spouses but have no problem pitching in (the boys) or doing it themselves. The grands who live with me are learning how as well. It was originally a survival thing as their mother doesn't wash clothes, but it really is for a life skill now.

Ruthann, the dementia may make it difficult for your cousin to live in the new place as well. Unfamiliar surroundings causes more distress than it does without dementia. Your cousin needs to do some other things like power of attorney both legal and medical as well. With her dementia, she may not be able to care for those things for long. It is important to make sure that her wishes are honored and she is able to live comfortably for her lifetime. I hope she doesn't take too long to deal with those things.

Otherwise, enjoy your plans.

TC, enjoy the lobster. I'm a bit envious.

Gotta run. The kids are due home. Have a great day.

Morning! I agree that nutrition and exercise can absorb the majority of your day. Some times I just refuse as when I focus on it too much, it makes me want to eat more!

TC - I make my fat bombs in what looks like an ice cube tray with silicone molds. It is made for candy and I got it at a Dollar store. Each bomb is a good mouthful and has less than 100 calories and less than 1 Net Carb. I love how they pop out of the mold as well. Some times you just have to search until you find the right combination that works for you. I hope you enjoy your FREE lobster dinner! Wish it were me. At least you can eat a lot of lobster and butter with low carb!

Ruthann - getting old and adding dementia is making it hard to be patient with your cousin. She isn't thinking correctly so try to love her through this. I believe I told you my sister in law has PIC disease. which will eventually be fatal. Well, she has digressed so quickly that my brother had to put her in an assisted living home. The drs say she will never return home which is a blow to our whole family. They are on a waiting list for a suite so my DB can stay there with her but for now he goes home to sleep at night. It is so sad when it happens to our loved ones.

Heather - I think Norm and Alex have figured it out! Norm used to do laundry until he did a load of my expensive outfits (when I was still working) and through them in the dryer. Ruined all of them. Since our slight disagreement over it, he refuses to touch laundry again and I'm just fine with that. He also does not do dishes which I blame on his parents. He had to wash all their dishes even when he was 18 and his younger spoiled sister never did any! He swore to himself when he got married he would not do dishes and he's pretty much kept his promise to himself. All of that aside, he can and will do it all if I can't.

Peggy - I can relate to getting hot for a walk! Now that our temps are climbing, it gets uncomfortable to walk with the heat and humidity. So first thing in the morning works for me.

Mary - good job at the scale at WW's even with less exercise! I find some times if I exercise too much I retain water in my muscles which shows up at the scale. Never fear, the Olympics will be over too soon. I'm not as happy with these Olympics as so many political statements are being made and discussed. I am not taking sides, I just don't think football games, emmy's, Oscars or the Olympics is the right platform to discuss politics. Leave everyone to their own and play for the USA to win. We aren't winning as many medals either this year - perhaps it is connected.

Arlene - I feel so sorry for you and Eileen with your foot issues. It is so hard to get around with all that pain. It will be a while before you forget to take your meds again! I am just glad Brian has a job and it sounds like he is going to stay where he is.which is the best choice IMHO.

WG - some time you just have to give in to a craving. It didn't hurt so just get back on track and you'll be fine.

Marianne - so sorry about your pulled muscle. It does make us all angry when we try to do something we have always done and can't without injuring something! One thing about getting older we all hate. I hope you are getting around better today. I did spend time in the sitting room which is right next to the laundry room (same building) yesterday. There are some exercise machines in there as well. Plus magazine, puzzles and books to read. I could spend all day and not be bored.

PS - sorry my post is so long! Some days it's easy to go on and on. Other days I can't think of anything to say.

Good morning team !

Mary, you are so right about nutrition and fitness being a full time job. I spend more time planning, cooking, and walking biking than I do watching TV, shopping, or playing on the PC. That is probably the way it should be.. LOL !

Marianne, sorry to hear about your pulled muscle. I hope it heals fast.

Ruthann, as usual you have the busiest life of all of us. I hope your cousin is able to get moved w/o you helping. you are good to her.

Arlene, Sorry to hear about the neuropathy pain. I see that a lot in my patients and it can be quite debilitating and makes many depressed so I am always glad to see you post. I hope whatever you take or do for it helps some.

Working next 2 days so cooking some today. Already boiled eggs and made some fat bombs. It is so much easier in the candy bar molds. Wish I had known earlier.. LOL !! Mike has free unlimited lobster buffet tonight. Will probably go over in calories... LOL ! It is FREE after all. I LOVE lobster even when they are small. Better get exercising. TC

Another sunny morning.
But the air is cool.

Marianne; you are so right. I have been telling my cousin where and what needs to be done.
She is getting to forget a lot. She has promised to leave me the home in her will. She has been going to get the will changed but she can't get it done because she has to walk up stairs to get to her lawyer and another time she was going to do it on the way to the hairdressers. Needless to say, she doesn't meet with people until she leaves the hairdressers. I have to laugh although It now is getting down to crunch time and I have been working with her November, December, January and now February. She is very good to me so I try to have A LOT OF PATIENCE.

She called me last night and said that she is not moving until next Monday??? Well, Sunday Lorraine is coming and we are gone to Yuma. So she will have to hire friends ??? (where were they while I repacked the whole house???) So I will go over today and talk to her and I think that she will have to keep it under control on her own. I will call her just to remind her of things. She is getting Dimenchia and there is no stopping her. She wants to do something there is no stopping her. Terry says that I will be lucky if I get the home. But she said I am the only American Living relative she has. Just takes a little effort .....
WE WILL SEE..........
I hope that you are feeling better. I just hate it when life slows me down. I always let Larry and Terry do their own laundry. Sometimes they do mine.

I hope that everyone is in tune for this week. Eating Healthy that is.
Later.......

Wow Marianne.......how did you manage to get all 5 people to do their own laundry? I did teach my 2 boys how to use the washer and dryer and they did when they wanted clothes washed ( mostly that was jeans ) and I was either not home or not ready to do a household washing yet.....
Was your washing machine not running 24/ 7 ? With all that? emoticon emoticon

Sharon.....Alex is like Norm.....leaves the washing machine up to me!
Actually.....a few times he did try.....he put darks ( like jeans ) in with my white tops emoticon guess what happened eh? I kept telling him what to seperate......so he never put jeans in with the whites again but I would find a dark T-Shirt in with them!
Finally I just said.....stop trying to help.....I'll just do the washing!!

I sometimes think there is a method in his scheme emoticon because these things happen with other things like washing dishes or mopping the floors etc.......

Good morning everyone!! It is 67 and we are going for our walk before Bagel King. It is starting to get too warm to walk afterwards.

Then we have to go to the bank and Walgreens before it's home to do the laundry.

Have fun at the Olympics Mary

Good Morning all!

Heather...did not forget....I will get that recipe on the recipe thread here soon! I....haven't been on the computer as much lately...but use my phone at work in the day time...but I promise!

So you all know....I went to wws yesterday and had a very nice loss for me! So...with Saturday around the corner...just sayin....!

Something I learned...and after our challenge....

I have really lacked in my fitness with the Olympics being on...I am an addict....however when they end...I shall continue. What I learned....that nutrition and fitness...are really full time jobs...and need to treat them as so!

I am wishing all a grand day!

The day was spent doing stuff around the house after I came home from the Y and running errands. I did take a nap when I got home which is unusual for me. I felt rally tired and funky. I did figure it all out though. First I had a hubby that I couldn't get to quit snoring and then my pneuropathy kicked in big time making my toes burn big time. Also figured that out, I missed taking my meds last night and that is when I take my biggest dosage for the neurapathy.. It should all be better.

Sharon - I agree with your statement about Brians job. The former employer was Food Services of America. He had worked for them for quit a bit of time some time ago and left, like many others because of poor management, they called him to come back at that time and when he asked if anything had changed they said no and he didn't go back. He went back about a year ago when his last employer at that time moved out of state to Denver and he didn't want to go there. They were so thrilled to have him back and he did a super job for them (which some of his immediate supervisors knew) cleaning up the messes that they were dealing with. The issue with the company now was that they moved out of MInot to Fargo and even though they said they wanted to come there they had no job or salary to offer him, of course he couldn't just up and go. He has a house that they'd have to sell and then homes and the cost of living in Fargo is much higher than here. Though it's gotten costly to live here too. And the new job he actually just got 2 weeks ago 2 days before his last day at job. The new job is with a company that has been established in our city since 1916 and is a fifth generation family business. So I don't see them deciding to move. OK, enough on that.

Marianne - I sure hope you are doing better. I know how it feels to do something we shouldn't. I'v found climbing into Darrells Blazer isn't good for my hips and knees because it's so high. My legs are too short for it. We were using it the days Darrell was fixing my Jeep.

Darrell will do laundry when needed. He did all of these things when I was laid up after my knee surgeries. Now he will do his work clothes and any of the others that I need him to.

We've been having some colder temps, the do tell us that it may warm up just a tiny bit but I won't hold my breath.

Well I better go.

Hi everyone. I'm enjoying another snowy day. The area needs water badly so it is welcome. I still hate snow after mid February, but will survive. At least the days are getting longer.

Had some good food yesterday and then ate something I was craving for dinner. It didn't hurt the weight, so it is fine.

Arlene, it is good that Brian is able to do something else rather than rely on an employer who isn't likely to be loyal.

Marianne, feel better soon. That's a lot of leg lift to get over a gate of that height.

Tammy, glad the dress shopping went well. It is fun. I hope your life is settling a bit otherwise.

SS, enjoy laundry day. Lots of fun with exercise machines.

Gotta run. Have a great day.

I had a meeting this morning, then we went to the library, came home, ate lunch and had Hands in Motion from 1-3. They left a while ago and I made macaroni and cheese to put in the oven and now we're going to watch a new show from Netflix

Arlene, good to hear Brian found a new job in the community he wants and hope it works out for him. I agree with Sharon, old employer sounds flakey.

Ruthann, hmm, you seem more worried about your cousinís move than she is. Enjoy your day off - rest will help your arm and maybe keep a virus away.

Sharon, I think I remember that the rv parkís laundry room is near the exercise room? When Pete and I got married I taught everyone how to do laundry - all 4 kids and Pete. I took care of sheets and towels but everyone was responsible for their own laundry otherwise. Pete still does his own, mostly, since I retired, although I have been known to help him out. emoticon

I am majorly bummed because I pulled a leg muscle Sunday, stepping over a 32Ē gate, and walking really hurts! Itís annoying how something I usually easily do can result in pain. Another reminder of how out of condition I am! emoticon So Iím resting the leg as much as possible, although I have grandkids all week because school is out for them.

Good Morning Sunshine but the air is cold today. Unusual for this time of year in CA.

Cousin Nancy has done nothing to help move. I have been busting my butt for her and we went over to get the keys to the home.

I found out that she hasn't even turned over the lights, cable or does she have homeowners insurance on it. She has done nothing. The most favorite thing in her life is to get her hair done. She is becoming a piece of work.
She knew that I wasn't very happy with her. I gave her a list of things she needed to do this morning. She has people over there cleaning the floors and cleaning and if they ever get hurt she is screwed. But .." me worry? She knew I was concerned. So she told me to take today off. So I am.
I will check with her and see if she has done any of it at 10 am.
She was cold in the house yesterday and she just wanted to get out of it and go where it was warm. To her apartment. I have been trying to catch the flu but seem to keep it in line.
Sleep helped.

It's nice not to have to worry about moving for one day.

Terry is moving around and breakfast is the next thing on my list. Hahaha, the only thing on my list.

Everyone have a wonderful day......

Can I just say, we sure have a lot of emotional issues going around that will deter us from focusing on our health goals.

Arlene - I was also unaware that Brian found a new job! I hope he keeps the new job as it sounds like the old employer is jerking him around. They probably had someone they thought was better when they told him no job. Then perhaps the other person didn't work out and now they are after Brian again. It's time to move on and find a new workplace home.

Today I am going to do laundry. It is also a social time with other people doing their laundry. Lots of men do laundry here which surprises me as laundry is my domain and Norm never touches it!

Thanks to the ladies on our team that kept us above water LOL. I'll have to work hard this week to come up with a loss. I thought the drama was all done in our family but Brians old employers are messing with him. He started his new job today and the old ones called and said that now they have a position for him in the new city (which they kept saying they didn't have before). There are a lot of factors why it's still not a good deal but it just gets things all irritating again. This stuff is hard on this mom.

Sharon - Thanks for doing the work on the challenge.

Hi everyone. It was a good weekend. I behaved yesterday. Saturday after WI, I went a little nuts. I have pretzels left over from Super Bowl so I opened a bag. I ate a lot of them. White flour and salt. Lots of empty calories. It still tasted good.

Now back to eating more veggies. It snowed last night so I'm heading out in a bit to get some food for the week. It is still snowing which is wonderful. We need it here. Just wish it would fall on the grass and not the pavement.

Have a great day.

Good Afternoon Ladies!
We went to IHOP for breakfast this morning so I ate heavier than normal for breakfast but it's 1pm and still not ready for anything to eat. We will eat lighter later and should be OK with the scale!

I was just about to walk down to the office to check on our mail when it dawned on me that it's President's Day so no mail. I will wait and go for a longer walk later... It's 77 and 77% humidity so a pretty comfortable day although it is windy!

Tessa - good job on not gaining. You must of got lots of exercise!

Good morning everyone!!! It was 62 when we went to Bagel King and now it is 78.

We went for our walk when we got back after our bagels and then I cleaned out the side of my dresser. It looks much neater now.

Good morning Rvers:
Off to another busy week. D day is today and we are going to go over and get the keys to the house and it is finally hers.
Moving stuff as we go to get the keys. There will be stuff that we will have to remove from there also. I just hope that there isn't too much stuff left.
It just means more lugging for me YUCK! This moving thing is getting to be really old.
I have been moving since September with my junk. Moved it twice and sorted it and we still haven't had a yard sale yet. Moved Nancy twice. The end of this week I will be in Yuma seeing old friends. Talked to Lorraine Last night and she was uptight and by the time that we finished talking she calmed down. WAY too much stress.
Looking forward to everything calming down and then I can think of getting the yard sale done. maybe in March after everyone is settled and I can think on my own.

Cheers to a better week to lose but mostly I am praying that I don't gain. Haven't felt good since Laughlin and yesterday I just stayed in one place and slept. Actually, it did me some good for I am feeling a lot better this morning. Have a good week. Later

I have decided to give myself another challenge for this last week ~~ emoticon

Since I joined SW last October....I have used what they call my Healthy Extras ( dairy and bread and crackers ) for a bedtime snack EVERY night! This is what I would have~~

By following advice from all of you last week and changing up my foods....I lost a good bit of weight this week... emoticon
SO going to change up my routine this week by eating my Healthy Extras during the day meals and NOT having any bedtime snack~~ ( going to have fruit or fruit and yoghurt as dessert after supper...BUT nothing after that before going to bed )

Today I had my Healthy Extras as whole wheat toast spread with 2 triangles of Laughing Cow Lite....along with my omelette full of chopped carrots/celery/red onion/spring onion and low fat deli ham.....

I think I am ready for this NO bedtime snack challenge to myself.... emoticon

But at the end of the WI's, Heather (HOLDINGMYOWN) won the Biggest Loser of the Week with her 2.4 lbs! emoticon She was due for a good loss as she has been sticking faithfully to her Slimming World Plan. Enjoy that loss, Heather as you deserve it!

Here is how the teams stand at the end of our 7th week with one more week to go

I am happy to announce our total weight loss to date is 99.8 lbs! We are so close to that 100 lb mark! My final week I always challenge everyone to a no gain week! Please, don't blow it the last week - keep it in your thoughts to not be the only one who gains.

Last night I had a scare of a scratchy throat. I slept in a chair to keep my sinuses from getting the best of me. I had an old box of Sudafed and it dried it up right away. And I kept gargling with mouthwash and this morning I am only tired and I am feeling a lot better. Nothing in the throat area or sinuses. but just feeling tired. I am praying that I caught it in time.

I meet with Cuz Nancy and the realtor to get the keys. She is getting excited for sure. We worked yesterday finishing up the kitchen and tomorrow we will hit the bedroom. I will be glad to see all this moving crap over with. No wonder I keep getting shots in my arm. I never leave it alone enough to settle down.

The end of the week Lorraine will be here. Then one week in Yuma. Then when she leaves I will probably fall in a heap. The mountain of poop is getting lower and I will be glad when it is all gone.

OK, eeveryone focus.... Good job Jauque. that may bring our team up from the bottom.

Everyone have a great Sunday. Hugs

Well my weight is the same as yesterday. So often it will go down the day after a weigh in.

Yesterday wasn't a very good day. Darrell went to fix the Jeep and the code was gone, he checked what he could at that time and the part that originally he thought was the defective part wasn't so holding our breath we drove the Jeep out to lunch and then while at Hobby Lobby he was waiting for me and the darn thing shut off and wouldn't start so.... we called Brian to come and get us. We went home and called our Good Sam Road Assistant card number and had it brought back home. It can't be towed it has to be hauled. So now he has to dig in and find the issue. He figures it's still the same thing he thought before but just has to find the right part on the vehicle. OF COURSE when the towing company was there to pick it up it did start but who knows how long that would have lasted, it could quit driving down the road.

Best go
Arlene

Good morning everyone!! it's 59 so it' even cooling down here but nowhere like your cooling down.

Jodi sent a video yesterday of Adin out in the grass whacking the piles of ice with a sledge hammer. He wanted something to do besides homework.

Jerry is going to play with the band at a memorial service for a guy who used to be in the band. It's outside under a tent so at least they are out of the sun.

Our meeting was great yesterday we had set up five tables that seat 8 and they were almost full.

I think that we got quite a few prospective new members.

No weigh in for me, we are still in France, home tonight. Not sure what the scale will say on Monday morning.
The thing that has been working for me is avoiding flour and sugar (mostly). I haven't been doing this while away. Lots more to lose so I need to get back on track tomorrow.

We are back home! We found lots of stuff we wanted but restrained ourselves. We did buy a Purple Seat Cushion. It's the one on TV where they show you putting an egg on it and then have you sit and it doesn't break the egg. It will be a good cushion for Norm when traveling and great for my back when he's not using it.

I also got info from an Independent dealer that is selling a Keto product at pruvitnow.com. According to her, it's a drink you drink each morning and it puts you in Ketosis within an hour. You don't have to cut your carbs. It is healthier for you as it doesn't affect your kidneys. It sounded interesting but it was too expensive for me. I just wondered it any of you low carbers have ever heard of it. It sounds too good to be true! I will check it out further when I have the time!

Now I went back and read all the posts so I am caught up. I will check back later to see how everyone did with their WI's.

I think the biggest learning curve for me was last week when I had only lost 0.2 lbs.....
Everyone seemed to be saying.....change up what you are eating....so I did this past week and lookie me....I lost 2.4 lbs! emoticon

So I need to watch that I don't let my body get use to what I am eating. Last week I ate a bit more carbs and used a few of my syns ( and ate less roasted veggies )
So lesson learned! emoticon

OH.....and I learned that I need to pay attention to the battery in my scales.....lol.....it is not jumping all over the place when I get weighed now!

Hi everyone. I've been swamped and in the grandmother mode all month. Thursday I rocked grands for six hours. It wasn't all at once, but it was a long time. It worked well as my girls were painting for me (they don't like the way I paint) and I love to hold the babies.

Also been enjoying the Olympics. It is not an active thing to watch others being active.

I've been more successful with increasing veggies and fruits and less processed food and less grains. It helps my body in so many ways to concentrate there.

Ruthann, you are still very busy. I hope things settle down soon so you can take care of you. Hope Terry feels better soon.

Marianne, that sounds like a fun day, though. I'm glad you enjoy your grands.

I agree that Spark is so helpful with the support of teammates.

Weight stayed the same which is a blessing with the stress at home. It is not fun but it is what it is.

I have to get groceries today. I have a family dinner tomorrow and we are doing pot luck. DD is hosting so I don't have to deal with dishes or leftovers. I like having fun foods to eat here as well. I've been enjoying a veggie salad daily. I've got to replenish my supplies.

Have a great day.

Iím up slightly and annoyed with myself. I really want to get out of the 160ís! I ate well yesterday but not much exercise; the grandsons wanted me to play Legos and watch a Spider-Man movie.

I am focusing on eating less processed food and will continue to make that a goal. I agree with TC and Tammy ó without Spark Iíd be less healthier and weigh more.

Ruthann, Iíve always enjoyed Crystal Gayle and am very jealous, lol. Sorry Terry got the flu, you need to take care of yourself.

Morning!

I am home between breakfast and a craft show. Norm is waiting for me to check in. I won't take time to read the posts until we get back.

I lost .8 lb this week! Not as much as I gained last week but better than it looked yesterday so I guess I'll try to be happy.

For the guideline this week. The hardest week for me was the mindful eating. I eat too fast and while watching TV. So I am going to continue working on at least slowing my eating down!

Well, 2 days in Laughlin was fun but as far as gambling I only lost $10 and $10 of my cousins $ and $10 of Terry's money. I was bored and the machine knew it.
Terry has the flu and we sat most of the time in the room watching the winter Olympics.
We did get to see Christal Gayle. She told stories of Loretta Lynn. and she also had her younger sister there who wrote songs. (she sang but she wasn't the best singer.) Loretta had broken her hip and you could tell that they were close throughout their lives...

Got home and got stuff done around the house. Wash is done. yeah!

Lots of food but seemed to gag at the end of it. I just couldn't eat anything. Leaving me in a -.2 loss. I will take it for sure.

Working with cousin Nancy today. The Realtor called me on the way out to Laughlin. My CUZ was supposed to go and wire the money last Monday. She said she was going and I called her and then she said she was going Tuesday. That is when she has her hair appointment. I knew she wouldn't do it until after the hair appointment. The sellers wanted to have the money so they could pay their movers. They all called me and said that it was signed and almost hers. We are meeting tomorrow and getting the keys. Then the rough week begins. Moving and packing last minute stuff. You remember she only gives me 4 hours a day to do it in. Then I have Lorraine coming in on Sunday 24th. I will still be moving but will leave with Lorraine Monday to Yuma for a week.

SO Terry should keep his flu to himself and let me get through the rest of this month. Poor guy.

Dogs are hungry got to go. Need COFFEE! Later.

I started my iphone note app record of some 2018 goals back when we started this challenge. Not everything on the goals list is fitness/health related but they are all things that help to set my mood to be conscious of progress, so I think that is helping with the challenge as well.

I have an end date of April 1 right now and will re-visit the goals then. We are six weeks into it right now, and they seem to be working well for me, but will need to re-assess then anyway.

TC, sometimes I think about where I might be right now if I hadn't found SP. I was in my recliner most of the time and didn't feel well any of the time. I am way ahead of that right now, even though I had regained a large portion of what I lost at my lowest. I seriously think I have may gained some years to my life, especially with the rampant cardiac and autoimmune disorders in my family history.

Sorry Team, I am up this morning like I was afraid I might be but I guess I'm thankful it's not more than it was.

I'm not sure yet what I'll pick to continue but as I was laying in bed this morning and I started to get a cramp in my leg calf I realized that I have not been drinking enough water again. So I realized that I need to schedule my glasses of water during the day and that may help that. I know I get plenty a couple of days of the week when I get to the Y because I go through 32 oz just while I'm there plus what I get the rest of the day but when I don't get there I'm not as conscious of it.

I'm on here really early this morning and now it's time for breakfast.

Later,
Arlene

Down this morning but still not down to my beginning weight.

The small glass at the sink and drinking from it everytime I am at the sink seems to be a good trick for me and I will keep that up unless we are traveling

I go by the name of PJ and live north of KC, MO. Winter in East Texas.

Onward and Downward

Its always too soon to quit.

It may take me longer to get to my goal than my original plan but I will get there.

Good morning everyone!!! It's 59 this morning and we're having another Bagel King day woo hoo!!!!

The Membership recruitment meeting is this afternoon 1-3. It should be fun. I get to tell some of the history of the club and also tell them about Hands in Motion.

It should be a fun time.

Have a great day if you can.

Arlene, glad you have Darrell to fix things.

Well, like I said, wt up. I knew it would be. I went on a bender yesterday. Basically too many calories since carbs were ok. Tired, angry from work hours, sick of dieting and then I was reminded I have been on Spark 11 years now. That seems like a long struggle but then I looked back and I see that is saving my life so attitude adjusted. I guess that is my one thing this week that I will continue. I will keep trying to look for the positive in everything and will try to keep rewarding myself for my stick- to-it-ness. I forget the rewards but I know I deserve them.

Working and in charge today so hoping for a "normal" work day. Later friends. Good luck ! TC

Heather - I have to agree this is a fun Team. I'm not as active as I feel I should be but sometimes I just don't seem to have the time to get on the computer and typing on my phone isn't easy, not that easy is always good. :) And you're right people who lie/stretch the truth always get caught eventually. I have also found myself "unfollowing " FB friends because I hate political and and chain things. I enjoy the things my RV friends post because they're always fun. I find myself "hiding" posts on there also because like you said TMI.

I'm a bit scared of what the scale may say tomorrow. I was ok this morning but today we drove out of town 50 miles so Darrell could play at a Senior Center. It was fun but a lot of sitting and then they fed us a very good noon meal. It wasn't a huge meal but with the sitting I can retain fluids. My supper tonight was light, just some Cheerios and a banana. It was a really nice day for the trip even though it was a bit cool, +29 degrees, the sun was shining so that helped.

I wasn't happy with my Jeep last night. It's a 2013 and we haven't really had any issues with it but last night a "check engine" light came on. Of course my mechanic hubby quickly found the issue and with a fairly reasonable part he's hoping to get it fixed tomorrow. I always hold my breath because with the newer vehicles with their computers sometimes it makes it hard or impossible for him to fix. Our older models aren't a problem for him.

I best go. Catch you all tomorrow.

TGIF day!

However, tomorrow is WI and it isn't looking pretty for several of us. I am glad we are all honest in our WI's although some times we hate to admit it. Our weight only hurts ourselves so be honest. It's the only way we know when someone needs serious support.

Our spaghetti dinner was delicious last night. I have been trying to stick to 1200-1400 calories a day but try to keep my carbs under 100 for the day. It has been so long since I ate pasta, I may have overshot my limit yesterday!

PJ - I am sorry you won't be joining us in August.

Anyone on this team is welcome to come and meet with us. Be sure and check out the separate thread for the rally.

Iím afraid my weight will be up tomorrow after 2 birthday parties and our anniversary this week. I tried to be sensible; grilled scallops for our anniversary dinner and no dessert. emoticon

I never could figure out why people lie about their weight in these forums. They are only hurting themselves. I always found it suspicious when someone would lose 20 plus pounds in a week when they had not been losing before. I realize sometimes it can be water weight so I give them the benefit of the doubt but I can not help but have some doubts sometimes. I am glad there is no money involved.

I have unfollowed many people on FB. The negativity was too much and most of it came from extended family, young family with no clue how great life CAN be if they just open their eyes and allow joy to come in, be grateful, love others. It was always about me, me, me which is true for many now a days. They focused on the negative instead of being grateful some one could fix their car for little money, or they had a ride home, or they had food on the table.

I may have a gain in am. I have been stressed and eating too many calories this week. My BG is good though and I am grateful for that.

Good morning everyone!! It's 62 and we're on our way to Bagel King!!!

We'll go for a walk when we get home.

I have to go to the Woman's Club at 3:30 to set up for Orientation of new members tomorrow.

I really like to have earlier meetings than that but I got them back from 4.

Sharon at this time I don't think we will be able to make it still too much to do at home with yard and garden that time of year. And as far as it is we would want to take our time and not rush there and back home right away.

Morning!

Mary and anyone else on the team. Yes, we are planning an RV team Rally at Mackinaw City in August 12-19th. You can come for one day or the whole week! We do have a separate thread and I encourage you to check it out as it may answer some questions. As the time gets closer, the thread will get busier. Meeting and spending time together just strengthens this team - plus we have so much fun!

Peggy - good news that your sister is improving with her surgery. I hope her recovery continues.

Tammy - our temps are mid to upper 70's and we are enjoying every minute of it. It did rain during the night and fog this morning but I'm not complaining.

Heather - everything you said about this team emoticon emoticon

PJ - any chance you and Frank could attend our rally? I would love to see you guys and that new RV!

Last night I won the major pot again at Card Elimination so I came home $75 richer! I did eat a small piece of cake and ice cream but we didn't eat supper so my calories were decent for the whole day.

Peggy.....happy to hear your sister Mary is getting better emoticon

Mary..... We all will be so happy if you could make it ( even overnight ) to Mackinaw City. Like I told you though...Alex and I would not be that close to you and not go see you and Greg~~more fun though if everyone meets you~~
Alex and I were both good yesterday too....I posted a picture on the Community showing our NON food gifts to each other.. emoticon

If you go to my SPARK page you will see I am only on ONE Team ( this RV team ) and I only have 49 friends....
I do like the Fun Loving People Over 60 team as well but found I was not getting over there to post so just removed it...I do still post on change one letter/change one word threads on that team though
And I have kept quite a few of the team members on my FB friends~~

On FB I have 111 friends listed.....of which more than half I have on unfollow~~most of those are family members. LOL....I tried just removing them....next thing I would get a request to friend them saying....I don't know what happened~~BUT I lost you on my friend's list. LOL

The reason I *unfollowed* the ones I did was because they were always putting TMI on their posts / or they were putting such stuff like family tree till it near drove me crazy / or posting way too many chain letter links / and on and on
Now I can go to their pages if I want to see something...otherwise I do not have to see any of it

I found on Sparks...that other teams I was on before~~~there were often nasty / or digging comments....and when there was a challenge ..I often felt that some of those team members were lying about their WI or the amount of exercise they did ( not hard to spot these people because once you lie....you have to remember what you said~~LOL )

This RV team and Sharon as captain......I have always felt that no one was cheating about their weights......that we all admitted if we gained~~that nobody ever put down a weight loss that was more than their scales said~~
On other teams I knew that this was happening and then other team members noticed too...and sometimes things got downright nasty.....

I love this team~~so unless all of you disappear~~here I will stay~~ emoticon

Good morning everyone!! 62 here today.

I'm off to WW's today after breakfast and riding the bike.

I can sit down for a few minutes when I get back home because Jerry is gone for the morning.

I do have to stop at the Woman's Club to return a few binders of info to the file cabinets there and get them out of my studio.

My sister Mary is having good days at the hospital now that the mass of scar tissue is removed.
