Congrats to everyone that lost weight! And to you Sharon and TC for doing an outstanding job. I wasn't able to complete the challenge to to yet another trip north but I am just now back in TX. I won't weigh for a day or 2 as my feet swelled a lot on the last 2 days even though I go a lot of steps in while traveling! So they are up for a time! We are safe and sound and with talking to mom, she has had much company to keep her occupied while confined to a wheelchair.

I feel a little bad about beating TC and want to give a special Shout Out to her as she lost 4 lbs. It isn't often we have such a large loss so I want to give her credit as well. It may not be the Best Loser Crown but she deserves at least a Tiara

1. 11.1 lbs SHARONSPARKLE (Me)

1. HOLDINGMYOWN (Heather)
2. GLASSART43 (Marianne)
3. GRLTZ (TC)
4. MASTERCARE (Mary)
It was a job to go through the templates and pick out those that met their goals. If I missed anyone, I apologize and say to let us know. We look forward to hearing about your rewards.

As we lose weight, we also lose inches. Not everyone decided to do this part of the Challenge but for those that did (only 4 of us) we lost a total of 16 inches!

As a group our total weight loss for this challenge was 66 lbs!

I just want to thank everyone again and say how proud I am to be the Leader of such a wonderful group. I leave you with one final image!

Every time I check on the templates, I am having a fun day! You girls rock!

Susy is really sick today but she texted me that she got up, weighed and was back in bed. She gained .4 lb this week.

And TC checked in by text and that girl had a loss of 4 lbs

Special shout out to Heather for reaching

We also have several that have met their goal for the challenge. Of course, I will list them all in our final summary along with our rankings.

Good morning Rver's:
I stayed the same and lost .5 pounds for the whole challenge. I have really shown that I miss my line dancing.

Congratulations Sharon. You are on a roll and there is no stopping you.

Congratulations to all who made it though with a loss. This is a great team and I am proud of everyone who sticks with it through thick or thin. It is something that we face which keeps our minds fresh on where we don't want to go. (and that is UP)

I am waiting for the Sears guy to come to put all the new parts in my new Range so it will be new again. I Don't know what I was thinking when I put Aluminium foil on the bottle of the oven. It just melted it into a solid mess. It cost me $65 for that mistake. Have I learnt? You betcha.....

Well, not only did I lose the 2 lbs I gained last week but an additional 2.5 lbs for a loss of 4.5 lbs this week! That puts my total for the challenge at 11.1 lbs loss. I didn't quite make my goal but I'm happy with the loss I've had.

I also lost a total of 3 inches during the challenge.

Whether you are happy or not with your personal journey during this challenge, I just want you to know how proud I am of all of you and how much I appreciate your participation! Thank you, now I'll go record all those losses for the week!

I've weighed in and am surprisingly .2 down, however I've had a gain overall. I haven't really been focussing enough on the challenge-I hadn't anticipated how difficult I'd find work over the past few weeks.
Life should soon get a bit easier for me and I do need to get back on track and lose those pounds I've gained (plus a few more really).

Good luck to everyone else

From what I'm reading, it looks like we all worked hard this week to reach our goals. We should see some good WI's in the morning!

I survived my dinner at the Mexican restaurant. I passed on chips and salsa. Stuck to a Chicken Fajita Salad. I walked out feeling good about my choice.

Good luck tomorrow and as Heather said - don't forget to measure!

One last post before our last weigh-in tomorrow morning...

And Don't forget to check back on your measurements as well...

I am not sure what those scales will say come tomorrow morning but I did my best today...
Had a fruit emoticon salad at lunch time after swimming. Then did 30 squats for my May challenge. Then walked to the WalMart which took 36 minutes. ( see Sharon? nothing here is very far away...LOL and I took the longer way today... emoticon )

Came home and made a stew for supper time. my Stew consists of a pot roast ( which I remove later to cut off and measure the right amount of meat....) plus carrots/turnips/celery and onions. Packaged Club House gravy makes the gravy at 80 calories per pack...I use 2 packages but dilute it with about 4 cups of water rather than 2 as they say to do. Had a few pickled beets on the side.
For dessert....had 1/3 cup of blueberries with a cup of tea.

SO ....ended up with 10,697 steps plus 30 squats.

THEREFORE.... emoticon emoticon emoticon ...If I do not reach goal...it is not for lack of trying and in the end I will WIN!

EVERYONE!

Iím here made myself get out on our gravel road and take a walk. Been on the go and just wanted to stay home today. Promised myself I would do better at getting in some exercise and since Frank was doing oil change etc on my car just walked here.

Peggy glad you donít have any concussion but do keep an eye out for signs of one. That bruise looks bad.

Happy Belated Anniversary Heather.

Sharon you look just fabulous. I am so proud of you. Your doctor is going to be so pleased with your progress.

Wishing you all a good Friday afternoon

In order to reach my Challenge goal, I would have to loss 9 lbs this week! That won't happen but I'm not disappointed with what I did lose this challenge. As long as I continue to go down, how can I complain. I still need to reach that goal by my doctors appointment which is 6/4 so I need to emoticon emoticon

That makes me feel better that you were checked by the Dr and you know what to watch for in a concussion.

Peggy - that looks nasty! Did you get checked for a concussion? I do know head injuries bruise badly. Take it easy for a few days.

emoticon Sharon! You look great and I bet your doctor will be so pleased.

Eileen, I love rhubarb too. Have to go see if I can find some :-)

Happy belated anniversary, Heather and Alex! Pete and I both have children from previous marriages so I can relate. emoticon We'll celebrate our 30th anniversary next year - really doesn't seem that long.

Hard to believe but I made my goal for this challenge. Now I just have to stay on track today. I'm going to a lunch with the gals - have no idea what will be served. emoticon As soon as I can get away I'm jumping in the pool, which opens today.

Back from Bagel King and getting ready to go down and take pictures of the club all set up for our fundraising tea.

My finger is improving but I still can't bend two of them. The bruise has spread lower towards my eye and it looks like I have an eyebrow above my eyebrow.

I am crossing my fingers and toes plus saying a little prayer that most of us reach our goals.

Don't forget when you WI in the morning, to also take your measurements and report if you have lost inches!

Thanks everyone for the nice comments. It makes the work all worth it to literally see the change in my body!

Brenda - I misspoke myself as I agree with your about Goodwill. I will not donate to them. I usually take my donations to a church related Thrift Shop.

Heather - Happy Anniversary to one of our favorite couples! Thanks for uprighting my pic too. I copied it and reposted and it worked. I tried to copy mine along with rotating and it just wouldn't change. I checked with SP Tech and they said that usually happens if you took it with your phone and had it in a different orientation than right side up. They suggest trying to run your photos through a photo editing program and re-save them. It seems like a unnecessary step being as they post fine on FB. Plus, this photo was taken right side up! I am not the only complainer so I hope SP eventually resolves this issue.

Eileen - Glad you had a nice, if short visit with your brothers. Bonus that you moved on with all that rhubarb! My favorite thing is a strawberry rhubarb pie. I think one of my Spark Friends is going to bring one for me when we meet in Shipshewana in June!

Happy Belated Anniversary, Heather! Your story sounds very similar to ours...the squat challenge is a great idea.

Eileen, happy for safe travels for you. I don't think I like rhubarb, but perhaps I need to try it as an adult. I just read a book where an older lady thinks she poisoned her husband with the leaves; can that even happen? [Obviously I was not paying much attention if that didn't get resolved in my mind. emoticon ]

SS, WOW! WOW! WOW!

Brenda, I still like that particular donation idea. I hope to remember to suggest such places when I read at other places on Sparkpeople that people want to donate clothing.

My strawberry plants arrived yesterday so some of my fitness minutes will be planting them! Woohoo!

Have a good day, friends, and hello to everyone!

emoticon Sadly...it was our last Line Dancing tonight till September.
So till we move out with the trailer the plan is now to swim 5 mornings per week and for me...to start more walking than I have been doing!

It was our Anniversary today ( Thursday ) and I was saying to Alex that it seems like we have been together forever ( not just 16 yrs...married 12 )
It is weird how life goes along isn't it~~
We both had terrible first marriages and when we first met and even when we were first married....those first marriages played a big part in our lives. Conversations often turned to the *bad* things we had.... had to endure.
Gradually all the *bad* stuff started to fade and memories of our own *good* stuff started taking more and more place in our conversations.

Now it seems our lives * before us* hardly existed. Of course, our 4 kids are still a big part of our lives as *US*.... but they are the *good* part of our first marriages and often bring us smiles when we chat about when they were young and the antics they got up to.

Thank Goodness for kids who made us smile when all else seemed so gloomy. emoticon

Anyways...enough of that sentimental nonsense!!

We both were good tonight at the Line Dancing buffet. I had about a half cup of air popped popcorn...one small piece ( about 1 oz. ) of cheese and about 1/2 cup of some fruit salad.
I was so proud of Alex both tonight and last Tuesday....there was home made ice cream cake and he did not even have a small piece!! For Alex that is an emoticon accomplishment! He has such a sweet tooth but he has come to realize that if he has that one piece tonight....he goes crazy with his eating over the next few days and it is a big struggle for him to get back on track! SO KODOS sweetheart!
And emoticon ...I love you ! emoticon

emoticon Sharon!!! emoticon You look awesome!! Great job! How fun when someone you know doesn't recognize you!!

We had a great day to travel. Sun shine and 73 for a high. Stopped at my brother's home and both were there. Another short visit and then robbed the rhubarb patch!! Brought a small cooler along empty and we cut the rhubarb to fit. Tonight here at the motel, I covered it with ice. Will refresh it in the AM and then again tomorrow night in Gainsville. Should get it home in good shape. Stopped at Wendy's for lunch and had a jr. hamburger, small fry and a "senior" coffe that was really good. Tonight was some of the prepackaged Compleat meals and the calories on mine were 210. Enjoyed a good walk after dinner and now settled in for the night. Can watch the beautiful almost full moon it's so clear!!

Marianne, way to go with the 10,000 steps AND a WOW to Creamy!! I don't think Keeleigh would make that but Daisy might. She has the energy. Keeleigh NEEDS to walk more to help lose weight :-)

Brenda, what a great idea. After our church rummage sale, Roger & another person took the clothing that didn't sell to one home in TX. but you really do have to know someone to get even close to the front door. Those ladies/families usually leave everything behind just to get away.

Peggy, how did the tilapia go? I can only imagine! Hope you are feeling just a little better. I remember when I got all my fingers on one hand shut in the car door but the skin nor bone didn't break. Just painful!!

Off to eat my apple even snack. Chat tomorrow evening.

Eileen

Tammy sent me a couple pics from our Branson rally to remind me of where I was then.

So I told her I would post a couple taken today

I'm getting there - I'm about 30 lbs from my final goal weight!

I sure get frustrated with posting my pics. No matter how I turn them, they always post sideways! I have to go through a couple extra steps. Hopefully SP will figure it out as they post just fine on FB

Sharon on our errands yesterday I did donate to Salvation Army 2 bags Goodwill make way to much $$ on their stuff for being donated items I once saw the $$$ for all the higher up people there and to me it looks like a lot of the $$ goes to them not the needed stuff. In fact Jenny and I went to Goodwill in the next town and prices up $3.99 for blouses I remember a while back $2.50

Any way I did have 8 pair of Lee Rider shorts , jeans, Capris all new the they were my size but the fit was wrong didn't want to donate to some who would make money on they so I went to a place were abused women go for a emergency place to go and then get help.
Have a nice day everyone

I was good at our coffee. One of the ladies didn't recognize me! She asked another friend who I was. She thought I looked familiar but couldn't remember who I was. My friend just laughed and said, "Phyllis, that's Sharon!" Needless to say, it felt pretty darn good!

I have so many clothes but most of them are too big! I'm going through and getting ready to take them to Goodwill. There are lots of overweight people here in Logan Estates and we are having a Flea Market here in June. Perhaps I'll try selling them first. Some of them are like brand new!

Marianne - you have been doing better than me on the FitBit Leader Board so I'm working hard to catch back up with all my friends! Creamy is such a cutie!

Ruthann - I would have loved to go for a walk with our friends but this is the couple that have been laid up all winter from back surgery. She went from a wheel chair to a walker and to a cane. She just started walking on her own a couple weeks ago so I'm afraid she's not ready for walking just yet! Good job on your electric bill. Ours averaged just under $100 while in AZ and would have went even higher due to a/c.

Peggy - I'm glad you slept well and to gain less than a pound after your trip is good. You can get that off by Saturday's WI if you work at it.

Brenda - so many people on the FitBit Forum's are very unhappy with the changes with the active minutes. There was no change on the Charge and it was the same on my Omron so I don't know any difference. However, people that can't be that active are unhappy as they don't feel it is helping them anymore. At least you can enter yours manually on SP.

So sorry about your injury, Peggy.

Ruthann, 88 degrees here today and our pool opens tomorrow! The caretaker told me it's already been heated to 85. Our community board finally ordered a pool cover - I was afraid with the drought we may not be able to keep the pool open.

For the last 2 weeks I've been averaging over 10,000 steps a day. I have to thank my Fitbit buddies - Sharon, Tammy, and TC - for the push. I also want to thank my walking buddy, Creamy, always up for a walk!

Good morning Rver's:

Peggy: Take notice that your feet are planted solid on the ground. Then one step at a time. Concentrate my friend. (Only kidding) I hope you mend quickly. I know how painful that it can be. For I am practicing also. Hugs....

Sharon: You need to train your company to go for walks with you. (;-) Good Luck on that one.

It's suppose to be in the 100's today. 103 to be exact. It is a beautiful morning at 76 degrees and I am waiting to see it hot. I will try to get the pool in later, but I have promised the girls that I would play card Bingo today with them. Which is only across the street from my house and is also air conditioned. So that will take up my pool time but will go in before dinner or maybe after. But it is a positive plan that I go in.

I received the 2 pair of convertible pants. They are snug and long and I keep thinking if I really do need them.....???? They are nice but they are Nylon lined and I am thinking cotton pants for Panama. All my pants that I have are mixed with nylon. Because I like the stretch when I bend over. Maybe I should go and look for something cooler. I hate getting clothes together for a trip. Nothing goes together and you don't want to take too much. Or things are too big.. Oh well, it is frustrating but I will make it work.

Light bill this month was $50.00. That is the highest one yet. Still not bad. I will be gone over a week and that may help for next month. I am glad I did all I did to my home for making it energy efficient, very comfortable so far.

I went yesterday to the gym and did another workout. Got some steps in and then also spent the afternoon at the pool. I keep on moving now if I can stop eating. FOCUS FOCUS FOCUS
OK, with that said I am off to a wonderful Thursday. Cheers!

Back from WW's I gained .8 but that wasn't bad after 3 days of eating out at Disney.

I slept fine last night but I did wake up with blood on the bandage so I must have been restless. The WW leader noticed some more bruises that I didn't even know that I had.

We're headed to our Community Coffee this morning! Looking forward to visiting with many of our friends here at Logan Estates. There is always fresh baked breads or muffins but I will be passing on them. I ate a meal replacement bar for breakfast so I'm all set.

Peggy - I hope you are feeling better today! Did it throb in the night? I hate when that happens.

Heather - I like your fact sheet for women!

Gerry - no pain for table surfing, especially if alcohol was involved - lol

I'm feeling good today as I got a really good night's sleep last night. And, I know that for a fact 'cause my FitBit told me so!

Peggy, that sounds like a very painful and nasty fight with that table. Good advice to ice, ice, ice. Take care.

There are not any changes for me this week. I don't trust the scale but the clothes fit the same and my jewelry continue to not fit, rings being moved to the next biggest finger. I thought the meal I had for dinner tonight would be very costly when I saw it but not having the nutrition list for it, I took the ingredients apart and came up with 348. It was turkey with provolone cheese, a sundried tomato pesto on focaccia bread. Boy was it good though. My GD was good enough to eat most the french fries because she decided she didn't want her grilled cheese which was great for me. Tomorrow is a travel day as we begin our trek back to our TX. home to find out how hot the summer will be! Hoping we can get a couple side camping trips in. We would like to go out to the South Padre Islands for a sunrise and sunset and see it without all the winter and spring breakers. So off we go tomorrow. Stopping at my brother's to get some rhubarb as her patch is already over flowing and we love to bake with it as well as make a sauce. Yum!!

Peggy, sorry for your pain! I've been accused of table surfing in my past RV rally life, but it sounds like you really have taken a painful injury on...feel better!

well my morning took a different turn.

before the 1st meeting we were trying to fix the big round table and Roberta, the Pres. said to me hold the legs, well the legs folded and I folded with them. I slammed my head on the hard plastic table and my rink and pinky finger got caught in the metal parts of the leg. My ring finger wouldn't stop bleeding and required 6 stitches.

I had a huge goose bump on my head and eight now my 2 fingers are black and blue and killing me. no more typing for me today. it takes too long using a few fingers.

I am giving the last exam prior to the final today - which means I will be grading and also that finals are about here. Next week is a review time, so there will be NO grading there. I am ready for the summer break, but will miss what I am fortunate enough to consider "extra" money.

I have used my time "watching" my students take the exam in my first class to look up some "fun" things - some kitty fabric for a fun quilt for my DD, some heart fabric to make a fund-raising quilt for a little family member with HLHS, and some essential oils info. I just got into essential oils "thing" and a good friend of mine has had the same experience with something to supposedly help sleep problems and is as amazed as I was about a month ago, so I was researching some things about that. It has been fun while I prolong the dread of needing to grade the exams. emoticon I am also looking forward to a Springfield, MO Spark Rally on Saturday.

I got an email that my strawberry plants that I ordered will be delivered tomorrow. I am happy about that, but it seems so much later than when I saw them in the store, that I do hope that I get a crop next year, which would mean I can keep them alive now that the weather will be warmer.

Have a good day....

Good Morning!
Ruthann - I hope you remember where you put that watch, lol. I envy you the 90 degree temps and the pool! I can't complain though as it's getting a little warmer here each day. Today we may even get in the low 60's. According to the article I read, a lot of people tie their shoes tight and if you walk or run a lot you get the pain. I'm doing much better with my sketchers. But, I only got 7,000 steps in yesterday due to having company all day!

TC - I'm glad you're getting out camping. Will you be going with your Mom? Mike? I hope you have a nice weekend of weather!

Peggy - Bagel King sounds good to me but not on my low carb menu! I am being really good on my low carb hoping to get these last few lbs off before I go back to the doctor.

Eileen - your invite out saved the day! Good food and good friends, what more can you ask for? So are you planning on heading back on Thursday?

Heather - you make me laugh! I can relate to small town living! When we lived in Dorr we were less than 5 minutes from everything! Which is wonderful, BTW. You and Alex will have to find something other than Line Dancing to get you through the summer! Good choices at the Line Dance luncheon. You are determined so I'm sure you'll sail through the next one as well.

Roxxy - Being there for Tala's first steps is wonderful. That's why you decided to stay put for this time. Lots of first's! I always do best on low carb but I can't sustain that lifestyle for too long. Our society is built around carbs!!! I will try to be strict until after my dr's apt and decide what to do after that.

good morning Rver's:
Up way too early this morning. I kept laying in bed wondering where I put my watch? I had it on the cruise and I remember putting it somewhere, but can't remember where? I haven't been wearing it much because I have been wearing the fitbit. It is a really nice watch that you don't have to put batteries in it. It just keeps on ticking. I bought it years ago on a cruise when we went to the Meditranian. I may need to get another one so this one will float to the top of where ever I put it. Ha Ha. I can also do that with my mind. The things I want to remember just don't hit the top of my brain until later. Some things like this watch will be a long time later. (:-(

Yesterday I got some phone calling done that needed to be done. That usually takes the whole morning, which it did. Then I made a big salad for dinner. Spent the afternoon at the pool with 4 people who are staying here full time. Great! I will be playing cards with them on Thursday. They have talked me into giving up a pool day to play. Maybe I will go in the morning. I hate to plan ahead because, I am suppose to be retired and not have to. Ha ha

Today I am watching the sun rise out my front door. The sky is beautiful and today will be in the high 90's It is funny because of the dry heat it don't feel like it. And there is a breeze out there that just moves the palms every so lightly. Looks like another great day in the neighborhood.

Sharon: I used to tie my shoes too tight and I would get the same pain. I have some new sketchers I put insoles from Walmart in and will try them out today. I still have ladder pain from painting my home, in my arches and these seem to bring my step up higher. My sketches have bubbles on the bottom and soft air type cushions inside. We have a sketcher store right down the street from me. They seem to be very popular.

OK I am off to plan a nothing day. I want to go to the gym first so I better get breakfast soon the class starts in about an hour. Later.....

Good morning everyone!!!

We're off to Bagel King and then it's home for a 9 o'clock Trustees meeting and then at 10 I'm the chairman of the setup committee. Ten of us have to set up 12 big round tables and 6 chairs for the tea we are having on Friday and Saturday

I lost .6 since my last Wed. weigh in. Let's hope it stays gone at WW

Had a good day for getting business out of the way. Even found out we can renew our driver licences any time during the yr. of renewal so we are going to go in and do that tomorrow as well as hope to get the car back tomorrow. Lots of walking but the SAT doesn't show it. Need to get more in yet to meet my goal. We were invited out to dinner tonight so that problem solved. Thy are good friends and Arlene didn't read her email until late about Bob inviting us! So we had a BBQ hamburger meal with a kale salad and strawberries plus corn on the cob. Good eats and visit.

Roxxy, how fun to have the little one taking steps. Soon will be on the go for you!
Sharon, let's hope the tying of the shoes makes a good difference in your pain.
Peggy, I know what you mean with getting back home.
Tammy, great going with your fitness minutes.

Off to do more Sparking. Have a good night.

emoticon Peggy....

Sharon....the indoor pool here is only about a 5 minute drive from our house ( or a 20 minute walk )...HECK ... emoticon in this small city everything is a 5 minute drive from our house!

We went to our last Tuesday Line Dancing till September. We will miss that over the next month and a half. Thursday night will be the last one for this year as well. ( LOL...the Thursday night Line Dancing is a 20 minute drive from here ...so not everything is next door I guess eh? emoticon )

I have a nice NSV for today....there was a lunch at this last Line Dancing class....hot dogs/meatballs/ chips/ and a carrot salad and another broccoli salad and cucumber slices....
emoticon ME...I had a very small amount of each salad and some cucumbers!!

Still keeping on track and tracking....keeping fingers crossed that I reach my goal on Saturday's Weigh-In...
It is our Anniversary on Thursday....and the Line Dancing will have another buffet of some sort...So I will have to behave at that.
Alex wants to go out for our Anniversary but he has agreed to wait till Saturday evening for this so I can have my weigh-in first. emoticon in the morning.
I still plan on getting something off their SFL ( Simply for Life ) menu but it is still restaurant food and not home prepared where you know exactly what is in there... emoticon
