Good morning RVer's:
Happy Sunday....My company is taken off (one son of Jane's is flying home) and the rest of them are going to Mexico. Me I have a MY day. (;-)
Jane made a great dinner and we ate outside 5 of us. I have sure enjoyed their company. Living with Canadians they some times talk against the US which actually bothered me in a way but kept it to myself. The 2 boys work in the US and was really confused what the conflict is?
They work here, shop here, visit here, buy property here. But still have negatives about the US. It is a good thing it is the US. We have freedom of speech. (;-)

Sharon Sharon Sharon: It is really tough to admit that you are human. Sure love ya! stop stressing...

Jane is blessed with 3 wonderful kids. I enjoyed them they were fun and were great excepted for last nights discussion. (;-) My problem right?

The pool is broken so another trip to my new gym today. It never fails every time someone comes to visit the pool is cold.

Ok working on today. Everyone eat healthy and have a great day.

LIFE IS GOD'S GIFT TO YOU ... HOW YOU LIVE IT IS YOUR
GIFT TO GOD, YOURSELF AND LOVED ONES.

I AM SO SORRY AS I HAVE MADE A COUPLE OF MISTAKES IN OUR SUMMARY!!

While attempting to post, I lost my post three times and by then I was so upset I made two big errors. Roxanne was actually the Biggest Loser emoticon Last week with a 3 lb loss and Judy had the next biggest loss of 2 lbs

I apologize for my mistakes and ask that they get the recognition they deserve.

One last post on this thread to give a SHOUT out to a job well done by ALL!! emoticon

Many, many, many, many THANKS to Sharon & Susy for taking care of all our stats! emoticon emoticon emoticon girls!

Another big SHOUT out to Sharon on reaching ONEderland this challenge~ emoticon emoticon

And Joyce~~ emoticon on taking the top place this challenge! When I get to my goal weight...I am going to be picking your brain for hints and ideas to stay there! emoticon

To everyone else~~ALL I can say is emoticon with Sharon that this is an emoticon group! Once we commit to a challenge ~~we stick in till the end no matter what !! THAT means more to me than if you or me are losing weight...IT means we are committed to ourselves and that is a huge NSV to me!!

I am looking forward to the non-challenge thread to weigh in on so that I can keep myself accountable to others rather than just to myself! emoticon emoticon emoticon
ALL we have to do is to emoticon

CONGRATS to everyone!! That's a lot of total weight gone. I plan on hanging in there and continue to drop the weight. I still have a little of the summer gain to drop but it's going and it is going to be gone eventually.

Sharon - CONGRATULATIONS on the consecutive losses.

Sharon & Susy - Thanks for the work you've put into this challenge. I know I didn't have a loss for the challenge but it did help keep me touch with what I should be doing. I really need to get this weight off, I think it would make a big difference with the problems I've been having. I just really wish it would warm up a bit so I could get myself out and to the Y. I really hate to drive early in the morning because it's still dark.

I think there have been some good losses in this challenge. Now we just have to put some of these things to work for ourselves.

Oops, I was posting at the same time as Sharon. Good job girls. Everyone did well..

They are also the only two that had a loss every week! emoticon

emoticon Susy for your help in recording. It helps to have a second pair of eyes!

Thank you to Susy & Sharon for all their hard work on this challenge ! I am happy it is done though since I struggled a few weeks. I appear to be getting back into the swing of things but have come to realize that doing 30 minutes of actual exercise on my days working is totally unreasonable for me. I did it religiously for the challenge but this is not a habit I plan to continue. I have discovered the stress from work was making me way too tired even doing simple ST so lesson learned for me.

I am happy to see how well everyone did. I consider it a win just to have checked in and support each other and a bigger win if you managed to maintain, lose weight, or incorporate a healthy habit that you can continue. So happy to have all of you for support. We could probably use the "what exercise did you do today" thread to keep supporting each other until the next challenge rolls around, maybe ? I know I need someone to be accountable to besides myself. LOL ! Cannot wait to see the stats. Go team !! TC

FINAL RESULTS: Gained 1.2 lbs - Total 25 pts

Well, our challenge has come to an end...

Although I gained overall, I am still THANKFUL for these challenges! They keep me trying harder than if I weren't participating in a challenge.

But with that said, I feel I need a break. Not because I'm going to eat whatever I want, but because I just need a break. Does that make any sense?! LOL

And my fitness minutes are suffering terribly. I twisted my ankle last week, and each day I keep re-injuring it. So it's not healing; it's staying puffed out and swollen---plus it hurts! Darn it!

But I have LOVED being a part of these last two challenges and look forward to participating again!

I -K-N-O-W- I'm going to miss the active-ness of being in a challenge with all of you!

I always feel way behind when I check in because of our time difference. Well, truth be told, I am behind because of our time difference - LOL

Anyway, I am happy to report another weekly loss of 1.6 lbs making it the 20th week in a row that I have had a loss - emoticon emoticon emoticon

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY MY RV'er FRIENDS!
emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Last day of our challenge for Valentine's Day~~ emoticon BooHoo emoticon

emoticon ....

MY next challenge to myself will now be to NOT let go of what I started here on this challenge! emoticon emoticon
MY next goal will be to head into ONEderland! ( Like our ferocious leader Sharon has done this challenge! emoticon again Sharon!)
And as I work on my goal to ONEderland....I will be working on the fact that THIS time I will come back to our next challenge with LESS weight than when I finished here today! emoticon It all goes hand in hand eh?
OR should I say~~ emoticon
It all goes hand OUT of mouth!! emoticon emoticon

The one thing I have found in doing challenges with the RV'ers is that no matter what weight I do not lose~~I NEVER lose in support and encouragement from some wonderful friends! emoticon emoticon

That's me for now...Have spent too much time here sending out Valentine's to you all~~ emoticon BUT it was worth every minute of it!

I could be very down with my gain this morning emoticon but when I compare with what I began with, I am down just a bit under 5# overall, so I shall choose to be happy with that emoticon I do weigh every day - for various reasons - so I know that my weight does fluctuate a lot during the week...I did NOT overeat enough on my day of "sin" emoticon to gain what the scales said this morning. Joe and I didn't even eat "out" yesterday when we took DB for a doctor's appointment...so it just is what it is and life goes on.... emoticon

Well, I ended up losing 3 pounds this week which put me slightly into Onederland!

I know that once I start eating even at the low range of my calories that I won't stay there but I am going to try really hard to make really good choices as I continue to recover from whatever this is. Still not feeling 100% but much better than earlier this week!

I hope everyone has a great weigh in today and a very Happy Valentine's Day! emoticon

Well I didn't do as well on this challenge but I did end with a loss, so it wasn't all bad. I didn't get the exercise I should have and that's why I'm unhappy with myself.
I'm so proud of how well everyone has done. Let's keep on the right track until we start a new challenge

Well I ended this challenge where I started. I really was hoping to do better but I know that I have gotten in near the steps I usually do. The exercises that I'm doing are not really burning calories.

We went to our a basketball game at our university last night. It is the last weekend for home games. I love to go but this weather has just been too cold when they are in town. The nice thing was both the ladies and mens teams won their games. I was good though, there were no snacks. We ate dinner before we went so neither of us was tempted even though they had a special promo of hot dogs and pop for Cancer.

Well I best get busy here.

Good day of visiting and of fighting an allergen near my recliner that has never been there before! :( Didn't stay too close to it. Off to the South Padre Island tomorrow so if I don't sign on in the AM before we go, use my weight change of today as the official. It's a loss of 1.4# and got all my points, I think.

Sharon, no, I don't take anything as it's an ACE inhibitor and that can't be take with some of my other meds.

Hello all!

Sorry I have been MIA this week - it has been a horrible week. The indigestion I had on Monday from the pizza turned into something else - food poisoning, stomach flu, your guess is as good as mine. Hubby has been sick with a nasty cold, the grandsons were carrying strep when they were here (unknown - they got sick on the way home) so DIL and DS got that - thankfully Tala is the only one that hasn't been ill! Let's hope she stays that way! I am glad it's Friday and it is a long weekend! Also glad to be on the mend. Had chicken soup last night with a little bread and so far so good....the first solid food since Monday night.

On the bright side I should have a loss for our last weigh in. I PUSHED myself to workout some everyday - didn't want to but I did it.

I wish everyone a great weigh in tomorrow and a wonderful weekend!
Tessa - congrats on your success during the challenge - well done! I hope you have a great time skiing!

Safe travels to everyone hitting the road this weekend!!

Take care all - sorry to have missed chatting with you all this week. There was nothing good to say:-/

Tessa - enjoy your trip. You've worked hard on your weight to get where you wanted to be. Congrats on that. I'm sure you'll be getting plenty of exercise to keep it off.

Ruthann - I do feel for you with all your company and eating out. Hang tough! I worry about all of us going out and blowing it after the challenge or worse yet, stop exercising! I promise you before God and everyone else, I'm not going to do either! Can I count on you?

Heather - looking forward to hearing how both you and Alex do at WI tomorrow! I don't eat a lot of beef but I do have pork a couple times a week. Our main meat of choice is chicken but I order that usually when we eat out so some days I just don't want it at home.

Eileen - do you take meds for your gout? I take 300 mg of Allapurinol (sp?) and I wonder if I'll be able to quit taking it when my weight gets lower. Even if the Dr says yes, I would be afraid as gout is so very painful and it seems great not to be suffering from any flareups lately.

Arlene - thanks for your kind words. I should have been an inspirational leader a long time ago. I just hope now that I'm opening all your eyes to see that we all have it in us to turn ourselves around. Everyone knows I've been depressed and in a slump with my weight for a long time. If I can turn myself around, you all can!

NSV - my FitBit is so loose on my wrist that I had to take it off and tighten it up!

I am looking forward to WI tomorrow for all of us and to see our final standings! Even if you're not on top, you are still winners in my eyes!

Good morning everyone:
Jane and DD arrived around 7pm and i met them at the casino. I went and got a new players card and because I moved I was treated as a 1st time customer. So I seem to be ahead. They gave me $40 in free play. I got $20 of it yesterday and I have to go back to get the rest of it today.
Anyway it was great to see Jane and meet her daughter. HA her daughter smokes. I told her outside and that is one thing I don't have is an ash tray. Amazing she took a water bottle with some water in it. Great idea. Then she can cap it. (;-) NO SMOKING IN MY HOME. (;-)
Jane took me out to dinner and I had an Oriental salad but had the dressing on the side. I seem to be up in weight this morning. This may be a rough week for both of them eat what ever they want because they are both very thin.
They will be taken off today. Which I told them I would join them a couple of times and for them to go have fun.
I joined another gym which is a lot closer. This one is less than a mile away. It is really BIG and they have all kinds of things I would love to do. They don't have a pool but who cares I already have one.

Well lots to do before they leave today. Later...

I've weighed in this morning as we are off this afternoon for our ski holiday. I'm pleased that I'm back under 154 which is where I'd hoped to be by the end of the challenge, my next goal is to be under 150!
Thank you to everyone for your support and our leaders for you hard work, it's been really useful. Good luck with your weigh ins tomorrow!
Today will be spent packing up the van for our trip, looks like it'll be snowing when we arrive-we may get to use our chains for the first time (though I'm hoping the roads will be clear).

Ack! we had a power cut for 2 hours today right when we go swimming. The power cut effected the whole town~~well actually the whole province of NB actually....So no swimming today.
We went to Line Dancing though this evening and my Spat did not record my time....so I had to put that in manually.

Sharon...I usually keep my meat/fish/chicken to about 3.5 ounces twice daily at the most. Occasionally....if we have something like a veggie stir fry...without meat or chicken...I will end up with just 3.5 ounces once that day. I do not think that having 3 to 4 ounces twice daily will hurt your liver enzymes as long as the meat is lean cuts and if you stick more to chicken and fish most days rather than the red meats ( even lean ones ) Most times if enzymes are elevated we would tell people to not OVER eat meats...to stick to white chicken rather than dark and to stay away altogether from bacon/sausage/bologna/salami/ wieners....in other words HIGH fatty ones.
But being that you are watching what you eat I am sure that those are not even your choices any more right? emoticon ( PS...They had better not be or else we will all be going down there after you!! emoticon )

Read the posts but cannot seem to get a side by side here to remember them all.....

Boy, what a low calorie day I had today. And not the best choices a available to me but that's the breaks when one has food allergies. A good bkft, tortilla chips only for lunch, then to Dirty Al's for the best seafood. I had 5 large lightly breaded shrimp and 5 large, lightly breaded scallops which I removed the breading. Lots of water and coffee today. Saw the best numbers on the scale this AM. Sure hope I can keep them going down!!

Sharon, I have a high uric acid (gout) and need to keep my red meat to 1-2 times week. Very hard for us both but I use lots of chicken, pork, and fish. Seems to help. I do feel it when eating too much red meats.

PJ left a comment on the chat thread. Safe travels tomorrow!

Arlene, you have had so many things going on this challenge. We haven't done much with encouraging each other either. Hang in there and we will both keep this going for us!

Jacque, way to go! Great weight loss for you.

Plan is on schedule so will probably be rather busy this weekend. Will check in daily but probably not posting. Have a great weekend and I will share my loss (if it's still there) with you on Sat. Good luck to all.

Sounds like we are all doing pretty well over all. Congrats Jacque on your losses so far ! Sharon, I would not like 2 oz only twice daily for meat. I also like my meat. Still having very long work days so tired and going to bed early so I can function tomorrow at work. Night friends. TC

Jacque - That 5# loss is great, it's so much better than a gain. And if you're feeling better that's a plus.

Sharon - The same goes for you. We're all so proud of how you've taken this all in stride and have the determination to be where your doctor wants you. It's all for your sake. I only wish I could say I have that much will power. I've not been doing good at it at all. I guess every thing has put me into a kind of depression at times. I just have to keep trying to get into the frame of mind that you girls have.

PJ - Soon you'll be on the road again. You've been doing so great too. I'm thinking you're pretty close to your goal and that makes it so much harder.I know our girls at TOPS that are close to their goals really have a tough time keeping it going in the right directions.

My weigh in at TOPS this morning was good (a.40# loss) but not as good as I had hoped. I'm thinking I'm going to change the battery in my scale and see if that makes a difference. There seems to be quite a difference in mine and the one at TOPS. I do it before next week and see if it makes a difference.

Just got back from town for a grocery run and to the pickup with diesel.

I decided to take a huge bowl of fresh fruit cut up. If there is any left (which I doubt) after the potluck we will enjoy it later. I put in grapes, watermelon, cantaloupe, oranges, apple and canned chuck pineapple (hoping the juice will help the apple from turning) and now it is being cooled down in the frig. Which by the way is stuffed FULL.

We have clouds moving in the wind and switched so it is cooling down and looks like it could rain at any time.

Gotta go more to do before the rain gets here.

Morning!

Ruthann - have fun with Jane and her DD. We'll be thinking of you! Hang tight and be good until WI on Saturday!

Arlene - I would definitely be hibernating with those temps! I'm glad though that you were able to get out and enjoy the German Polka Festival. I hope you get out and have a good TOPS meeting this morning.

Carol - emoticon One more WI - one more loss!

Jacque - 5 lbs in a month is good! That's like 65 lbs in a year and who wouldn't be happy with that. I know my body responds to low carb but it's not always a doable diet. I try but don't beat myself up if I have a higher carb day! Hopefully, your new supplement will be the ticket for you! Have you ever heard of l-carnitine? A lot of the ladies on the Low Carb Page use it. I guess it's some king of fat burner supplement.

Eileen - both Norm and I are big meat eaters so limiting my meat has been the hardest thing with my new WOE (way of eating) Because my liver enzymes were high and because red meat is the hardest thing on your liver, my dr suggested 2 oz only at lunch and dinner. I'm OK at lunch but usually eat about 4 oz at dinner time. It's still a lot less than my normal portion so I'm hoping it's not hurting me! 2 oz!!! That's like one chicken tender!

Another German Polka Festival is done for this year at Bethany Lutheran Church. Darrell's tired but the people love it. It's something different for a Lutheran Church. Though this year I think the cold temps kept a few people away. I know of several couples that said they were going to be there but it's already -8 and it's going to get a lot colder. I know if it wouldn't have been that Darrell was playing we wouldn't have gone out. He had a tough afternoon on the bus too. When you're dealing with Special Needs children you never know what to expect. It's a wide range of Special Needs.

I do have to say my eating was good though. I love cabbage and sour kraut but my tummy doesn't like too much of it so I was very selective in what and how much I ate. I think the only things I ate that didn't have either of those in them were a small piece of peach kuchen, german potato salad and knephla soup. And I didn't have much of those either. I was probably way under what I would normally eat for a meal calorie wise. And with these kinds of things there is no way to even figure calories. Last year I made pumpkin plachinda but this year I really didn't have the desire or energy to make anything. Darrell said he was volunteering for both of us with his playing :)

I am definitely not looking forward to going out tomorrow morning for TOPS if it gets as cold as they say. And I'm willing to bet there will be a lot of them that don't come.

Eileen - Your house should be all shiny now and you'll be all worn out. Now you just have to enjoy all the company.

Will catch you all tomorrow.

Good evening all. All this talk on low carbs. I've dine the low carb thing before and even though I was totally faithful to it for a full month I think I only lost 5 lbs and no inches. Not my thing. I do try to make my carbs good carbs, ie fruits and veggies. In glad that it is working for you all.

Sharon, I know it's a good plan for you I am so proud of how you've been doing with your walking and I think you are even beginning to enjoy it emoticon

Tessa you amaze me with all your running and such. I'm glad you've decided that you can fit in 10 mins here and there.

Arlene, I hope all your tests went well I'm not sure how the electronics would have affected the fitbit but probably best to have removed it.

I haven't been getting in my steps but my eating has been better this week. I have been getting some nice outdoor time. I hope everyone is staying strong this week

I do enjoy my meat. We bought a 10# pork loin at Sam's yesterday and each had a slice of it tonight. Very good. We are also potato eaters and it's one thing that is hard to imagine giving up so I just add the carbs. in. Enjoying my fruits too. My SIL that is coming tomorrow has lost a significant amount of weight using fruits and veggies as well as riding lots of bike trails. Will be hard to keep up with her this weekend!! :) Maybe the scale will move a little more with them here and I can have a great finish!! Actually I feel it's be a great challenge for me as I haven't had one gain. The losses are little but they are losses and that makes me very happy!!

Eileen - not all low carb diets are high in meat. I am under 6 oz of meat per day. To be honest, I don't eat a lot of meat or cheese but I concentrate on veggies and doing without white flour products and things high in sugar.

I went to Subway for lunch today and tried their new Monterey Chicken Melt for 360 calories. It's lower in sodium and is real chicken with no preservatives. To stay under 400 calories I had the apple slices instead of chips. Norm loves Subway but it's not a big thing for me. My sandwich was OK but it didn't tasted the same as the others as you usually put the same stuff on your sandwich.

This morning I walked over to my GF's home who lives outside the park. She walked and met me half way and walked half way home with me. I walked for 53 active mins and 3.29 miles. I think I earned my Subway sandwich!

Tessa - here I'm feeling good about my 3 mile walk and you are running 6.5 miles! I can't even imagine it but you go girl! I've very in awe of you!

Marianne - I know the last few months have been rough emotionally for you but you got good news at the end of all the stress so now you can get things back to normal, hopefully. One of the proteins I can't live without is my Jif Extra Crunchy PB. I know I should avoid it or eat natural PB but darn, I only eat 1 tbsp at a time (95 cal) so I don't think it's going to hurt. At least it hasn't so far!

PJ - speaking of carbs, isn't it irritating that there are so many carbs in apples and a lot of fruit. I try to stick to blueberries and strawberries. Also, my favorite veggies, onions and cauliflower has a higher carb count. Oh well, I don't think anyone got heavy from eating fruits and veggies so I don't worry too much. It's better for me than the apple fritter I would really like!

Tammy - you are forgiven! You still inspire me!

I've missed a few days on here, so much to catch up on.

I've been busy finishing some things at work before we go away. I did manage a long run yesterday (6.5 miles) which I like to do before an active holiday so I know I have the stamina to cope. My legs are a little tired today so I've done a brisk 10 min walk (before work) and some pilates.
One thing I have learnt from this challenge is that I can fit in 10 mins exercise a day, when I wont have time for a run/cycle or the gym I can squeeze in a 10 min walk round the block, that's something I should continue. I've also learnt that I shouldn't buy certain things because I just end up eating them in large quantities (once they are open).

Good morning,

Tammy, emoticon I hereby absolve you of all guilt! Today is a new start:) I think it was you that posted the link to one of Indygirl's blogs that had a great analogy - if you have one flat tire, you don't go out and flatten the other three! emoticon

Eileen, I'm so sorry to hear about your SIL. emoticon

PJ, lowering my carbs has really helped - I knew this but somehow allowed them to creep back in higher numbers! Protein and healthy fats keep me fuller longer so I'm working on that.

I've only lost a few lbs in this challenge but my habits are much improved and I feel like I'm finally back on track. I should probably look into emotional eating and ways to fight it - I know my depressed attitude the last few months has not done me any good!
