I was at -1002 yesterday. I still haven't been getting the exercise I'd like to get, but at least I'm up and moving around. I've been to the grocery store today. Needed to stock up on groceries for the weekend.

Tessa, good job on the deficit for yesterday. Have a good drive and enjoy the show. I agree that it's important for family to support our childrens' efforts. Be safe and get in all the movement you can.

Sharon, get that water in and it'll flush out all that sodium.

Feeling the sodium bloat from our pizza party last night! So lots of water today. In addition to a little extra exercise.

Yesterday, for the first time, my deficit was over 1000. I'd been for a longer jog-that really helps!
Today, after work, I've got a 4 hour drive to my DD to see the show she is musical director for-it's been on Broadway I think. Her housemates will cook me a meal tonight-not sure how I will estimate calories there and then I've a 4 hour journey back tomorrow so I can prepare for work on Saturday. I'll hardly see DD as they will have a party after the show and I'm sure she will want to sleep Friday morning! I felt it was important that someone from the family went to support her but I'm not looking forward to all the travel & lack of exercise.

Ate at the low end of my calorie range today which was good because almost no exercise. I just finished 20 minutes and have a calorie deficit of 568. Since we'll be in Washington with family for the next 4 1/2 days I'm going to be challenged by food, but I'll find a way!

Exercise shouldn't be too tough with lots of opportunities for walking and playing with the younger kids.

Thanks for the reminder, Mary about the ads.

I had to go to CiCi's Pizza Buffet for dinner tonight. Well, I had to as Norm said yes to a group that was going. So I ate really light for breakfast and lunch plus did extra exercise. I am pleased to report even with pizza and a cinnamon roll, I still have a deficit of -1111 for the day!

emoticon I'm home. I've been busy with laundry all morning, lol. It was stacked all over. Good thing he has lots of socks and underwear.
I was down 847 yesterday. Didn't get much exercise in, but was good on calories. I also went to bed early last night. 8:30. Those of you who know me know this is very early for me. I woke up a couple of times, but didn't actually get up till almost 5 this morning. It was nice to be back in my own bed.

I've synced my fitbit, but it doesn't look like it changed my numbers any. I'll go back and double check it.

Now that I'm home I'll get my measurements and get on a scale and see what I weigh. I'll probably wait until Sat. to actually log the weight, since it isn't truly part of the challenge. I've been keeping tabs on my tracking so will have my numbers on the deficit part.

Sharon, good job on your numbers you are doing great. Keep it going. I was looking at my tracker today and I think it was you that had questioned about your numbers on the calorie intake changing every day. What that is, is it incorporates the amount of exercise you've done and it adds the number of calories you can have to maintain your weight. Just keep doing what you're doing, it seems to be working for you.

Havenít really been gone just not enough time to do all the sparking the last couple of days. I went fishing with Frank on Monday. I did more enjoying the sunshine and 80 degree weather than fishing. Yesterday we went to McAllen/Mission area to do some shopping.

These 2 days I did manage my deficit with no exercise but I really had to be careful what I was eating. I am marking my deficits on the other thread by the day.

I go by the name of PJ and live north of KC, MO. Winter in East Texas.

Its always too soon to quit.

It may take me longer to get to my goal than my original plan but I will get there.

Heather - I haven't noticed any ad for the Polar Loop but I really do ignore the ads. I just looked and I see mine has Harriet Carter all over. I also get emails from then everyday because I have ordered from then on the internet. It's scary how much they know about us.

I stepped on the scale this morning (mid week) and was pleased with what I'm seeing. Now to keep the momentum going!

Thanks Sharon-I've checked and I was down as sedentary (which I am much of the time, some days I get very few steps in). In fact today it's gone up to 1690, I guess I must have changed something else.. I'll see how it goes, maybe it is really right!
No idea how I'm going to fit anything in on Thursday but aim to go for a longer run tomorrow.

Sharon, I'm pretty sure they set your calorie intake on a 2lb per week loss, unless you've got a goal set that is less than that. When you set your goal weight and your current weight and the time frame you want to meet the goal in it tells you how many pounds you need to lose in a week to get to the goal.

Tessa, I think Sharon is probably right about your tracker. You are a very active person and if you've set your profile at that, I'd guess that is why you need to burn so much to get to the 500 deficit.

My exercise hasn't been much the last couple of days. I'm hoping I'll get on the road today and get back home. If I can get on the road I'll get a few steps in at each of my stops. Not many, but more than I'm getting sitting here waiting on a call.

Hope you all have a great day.

What I am trying to figure out is when SP tells you how many calories you are supposed to eat each day, how much will you lose if you follow their suggestion? Do they base that on a 2 lb a week loss or less. Yesterday they suggested I eat 1750-2050 calories based on the amount of exercise I tracked. It changes every day! I don't feel I would lose weight eating over 2,000 calories a day! My doctor always told me to follow a 1200 calorie diet and exercise was a bonus.

Mary - welcome to our challenge, lol. I'm sure now that your pizza party is over and you are feeling better, you'll inspire us once more. A side salad instead of chips or fries - GREAT IDEA!

Tessa - according to your BMR, you must have set your account up for Highly Active. If you want to change that you can. On your Start Page, right under your name, click on the Account link. If you go about half way down, you will see How They Determine your Daily Calorie Count. Click on that and chose what you want. I hope that helps you and doesn't confuse you.

TC - looks like Heather has helped answer your question. If you still have questions, just let us know and someone will help you.

I really don't encourage anyone to eat under 1200 calories a day! Our bodies need at least that to get all the nutrients it needs. A good day for me is just under 1200. Like yesterday, I ate 1174 calories but I think that allows for any mistakes I may have made in calculating my calories. Oh, and my daily supplements put me over 1200. Don't forget them! If you take the same supplements every day, it's good to set them up in a Group. I also have added Daily Supplements as a Extra Meal Option (under Tracker Options) I love the Nutrition tracker! Did you see they just added another tab (Recent) which brings up items you have recently added. Anything to help make it easier!

@ TC~~ I wrote you an email...BUT...if you are talking about the goals that Jacque is talking about...on the Start Page there is reset buttons under *WEIGHT* and *FOOD* and *FITNESS* where you can reset everything as well~~ emoticon

@ Jacque... emoticon on the calorie deficit! 2 lbs per week is not bad to have to lose...( I do find it hard to be consistant with 2 lbs but if I am really determined I can average that over time )

@ Tessa~~ UNder 1200 calories is *really* hard! So like you I will exercise to be able to eat at least 1200 per day~~ emoticon

Spark has set my BMR at 1660, so to get -500 I have to keep under 1200 (which I'd prefer not to!). That means I have to get some sort of exercise every day. With a busy week of work and along drive Thursday & Friday, this is going to be challenging. I managed a 20min walk yesterday, it may be the same again today-I will run if there is time for a shower after!
I shall be interested to see how this works once my body has recovered from the shock of sensible eating!

Sharon, I'm not sure what your question was asking, but as I reset all my goals and stuff starting this challenge, in order to get to the goal I set I need to lose 2 lbs a week. I'd better get busy.

Good job to all on how good you are all doing. Let's keep this going.

I read Heather's blog and the Cauliflower recipe sounded so good. I had all the ingredients even the minced garlic. I used frozen cauliflower and it worked great! I will make this again as Norm and I both enjoyed it!

My exercise so far today includes doing Sweating to the Oldies and a mile walk. It really increased my suggested calorie intake. I'm sticking with a 1200 diet. Does anyone know what weekly weight loss all their suggestions are based on.

Hope you hear good news about your car, Jacque.

Spent a productive morning at the gym and came home to walk for an hour. The walk just kind of happened - I had to go get something from someone and decided to walk. It's such a beautiful day, I kept going.

I was soooo tempted to snack last night but Heather's post and my own good sense prevailed. emoticon

Tammy, good job on a good deficit yesterday.

TC, glad you have a day off away from the angry bear. emoticon

Mary, hope you are feeling better today.

I've been good about tracking all the bad things I've been eating. It isn't pretty, but I'm putting it on there anyway. Takes all the guess work out of how bad I've been.
The shop has promised me they will be getting on my car today. I should at the very least know where I stand. I'm hoping they will have me up and running today. I went in and saw them this morning and my car was still sitting in the same place it was put when it came in.

Here's to a better day today.

Good morning RVer's

I am so happy to have a day off. Weekend was a bear at work and a cranky bear at that. LOL. So glad to have sun today and hopefully 40 for weather today so I can walk outside later. I miss the fresh air. Cabin fever setting in.

Mary, sorry to hear you are not feeling your best. Keep pushing, even if it is a slower push.

Brenda, you are a fabulous cheerleader. I love that emoticon ! Made me smile emoticon

Ladies, it is the first week and we are all doing so well. It may be close. I am anxious to see how great we all do this week and the next 9 weeks. Whoo hoo !!! emoticon !

It's good to rant! emoticon And it's good having friends who let me rant & listen & encourage me! emoticon

I feel good tonight....no cravings to eat~~whether that is because it is weigh-in day for BTS tomorrow or what but whatever...it is a good feeling NOT to be craving!

emoticon for 978 calories deficit today. Did not get a lot of exercise but did do 30 minutes on the treadmill~~

@ Marianne... emoticon for the link to the swimming article~~ good to know that there is more to it than we even think ourselves eh?
And BRAVO to you on not snacking too~~ emoticon

@ Brenda~~ emoticon for coming in to cheer us onwards~~ emoticon

@ TC~~ emoticon calorie deficit today!

emoticon Ruthann~~ I see you are still on the go! What a busy woman you are all the time~~I think I would have a hard time keeping up with you! emoticon

@ PJ.... emoticon BOLD one~~ thanks for some more emcouragement...need all I can get!

@ Carol~~ Sharon was right about the BMR....I was looking it up on how it is set up if you were doing your own...and they take in everything~~
Youe age...sex...height...weight....and life style....once you put in that info there is a formula that gives you your BMR....
Sparks does this for you from your info input....( Thank goodness...because it is a complicated formula ) and in checking mine on that site....Sparks was right on for me...
But they do go by whatever info you gave them.... emoticon

@ Sharon~~ OH how I love how you *kick* my butt! emoticon You are super! And I love you dearly! emoticon

@ Jacque~~ Boy! It sure is taking a long time to get your car back! What gives? I would be very upset if I had to wait that long for my car~~ emoticon but you sem to be taking it all in stride~~Good for you! emoticon

Well...time for bed..... emoticon
Yea! emoticon tomorrow and my new bathing suit is in at Sears...Will pick that up before I go! Nothing like something new for us to feel better eh?

I did good on exercise today, but eating was off the charts. I'm not in the negative for my calorie count.

I'm glad the rest of you are doing well. keep it going. This is going to be short as I'm ready for bed tonight. All my fresh air and the walk have gotten to me.

Have a good night.

Managed some extra exercise today while Pete watched the game. It's after 7:30 PM and I am having no snacks - just a cup or two of herb tea. I'm so glad I like my coffee and tea without anything added.

Thanks for the cheer, Brenda! emoticon

803 calorie differential today. It's going to be difficult but I am not looking at the scale until my BLC weigh in on Wednesday.

Just a quick stop by. Just came home with a day with Lorraine and my sewing friend Sue.
We went to Poulsbo, WA I have never been there. It was fun. You should have see Lorraine checking out all the gift shops. She just buys and buys. She is a kick. I will ask her do you really need that? OH well it is what keeps her happy. It is OK with me.

Sharon: your on: I would love to loose 20 pounds. But the attitude needs to be there. I am feeling crappy because of the scratchy throat I just can't shake. I know I will feel better as soon as I see the sun and be able to bake in it.
Don't forget your water. (:-)

I am really tired today (maybe I did a little more than I am used to exercising yesterday) so I am only taking the one long walk today which I did this morning. Have tracked my food and will do just fine with what I am eating. I will be going out fishing tomorrow so will have a big breakfast and dinner only and fruit in the boat to eat. I have tracked tomorrow already also so I should be able to stay in my deficit range even with no exercise tomorrow.

Heather just brush it off and itís a new day. I have a terrible time snacking at night especially if I am tired. And it does seem like once we start snacking its hard to stop. I think Sharon said it all.

Yes Jude do share that recipe Please

We just have to plan plan plan and make wise choices. Tuesday I will need to really be on my toes going to town as I have no idea where we will eat.

I go by the name of PJ and live north of KC, MO. Winter in East Texas.

Onward and Downward

Its always too soon to quit.

It may take me longer to get to my goal than my original plan but I will get there.

Carol - I don't know for sure but I believe the BMR is based on the type of lifestyle you indicated when you set up your account. Perhaps at that time you felt you were Sedentary and now you are more active. That's just a guess but it might be worth the time to go back and check.

Whew, Sharon, it's a good thing you wrote up those instructions in the new challenge, 500 Calorie Differential! I'd never seen that before!!!!!! Holy cats! I have a problem with what my differential calculated at - it gave me over 1000! Yes, I'm exercising more, but, but, but, What??? I wonder if my BMR is wrong. Hmmm. Not that I mind showing that deficit, but it seems awfully high.

Carol

Jacque - I believe the stress of the car breakdown is getting to you. And the first thing we do when stressed is eat! I'm not surprised being away from home and everything else going on, that you are having problems. Just remember, you only hurt yourself when you eat away. Good luck on the eating, exercise and car repair. We're all cheering for you!

Heather, Heather, Heather - I'm not going to say anything else 'cause you've beaten yourself up enough. Would you talk that way if I did that? I think NOT! So you know late night eating is a problem for you. Try to think of a small treat (not food) and earn that reward by not eating! On the other hand, if you are staying up playing games, you are bound to get hungry. We are used to eating every 4-5 hours. So go to bed and sleep at a reasonable hour. You are one of THE BOLD ONES and we need you!

Ruthann - what a great post! I love your positive attitude and we both have done it in the past so I know we can do it again! So why don't we work on losing to our goal and then struggle with the proverbial 20 lbs!

Mary - sorry the pizza is causing you misery today. Probably the grease and cheese. Oh, but it does sound good. But I bet you're ready to get back to eating your Power Foods.

Tammy - when we were with Jude in Custer, she had some breakfast egg quiches that looked like muffins. She makes them and freezes them. We ate them cold at the Buffalo Roundup and they were good but I bet they would be great if warmed in the microwave for a few seconds!

Jude - you need to share that recipe so those of us that want can make them!

Tessa - with all the exercise you do, how many calories do you eat? I'm glad your scale was kind to you. I'm trying to stay away from mine for a couple days.

Marianne - great job on your deficit! I'm going to try to get within range for everything on my Daily Feed today. I must admit it is really difficult to be in range with everything! Sodium is difficult at 2400 mg and I heard that now the experts say we should be way under that! It almost forces you to eat only natural food to make it. One processed food and you're done for the day!
