Good morning looser's....... emoticon

Sharon: you seem to be right on. You keep making those great choices and your not far away to be under the 200 mark again. I should work harder at it but I am taking each day as it comes to me. I find I have had enough stress in my life lately and to keep my weight under control and not go off the deep end has been a challenge for me.

Well It is raining this morning. It seems like a good day to pick up some things at the store. Maybe he will let me cook tonight. I would like to make my son a steak salad. He loves salads and he should like this one. Or maybe yet Corn on the cob and baked potato. We will see what he will want. I was hoping the appetite will be returning by today.

Ruthann - I hope once Mike gets home, both of you can relax and get on with Mike's recovery. Hospitals are not a restful atmosphere and that's no joke.

My weigh in this morning was good. I am down 2 lbs - yeah!!

I am starting a new June Challenge thread so I hope you all join me there.

Good morning everyone
Just a quick check in for today my son is suppose to gt out of the hospital. I haven't heard from him this am. Which is good I think....??? I will go in at 11 am that is when visiting hours start. I get there to early it is like a life time by the time they let you out of there. I can see him sitting on the side of the bed waiting. Ha.
I found a scale and it says I am up a half pound. I wonder how accurate it is. At least it didn't take me over the 200 mark.
Off and running. Later my friends.
Sharon: you are right on it girl. Keep smiling and make the best choices you can....It is going to be cooler today 86 degrees. ?????

Pat - so glad all went well with your surgery. We have enjoyed getting to know you better and I'm happy to have you be part of our team. We will have one more month of working on our own goals. I will introduce a new thread tomorrow on June 1st ( my DH's birthday!)

In July I hope to start another team challenge. The one thing I've learned from the 5% Challenge I'm in right now is that the teams are way too big. I have 54 on my team and it's difficult to encourage anyone or get any support when needed. I hope we get good participation with our challenge.

Hi I am back. Cataract surgery seemed to go well. I had to go back today for a check up from surgery yesterday, I am not allowed to bend over- so no yoga, Not allowed to lift anything but a gallon of milk-No yard work and no long fast walks especially in this heat. I have an eye patch for bed I have to o back again next Friday.
They put some drops under my tongue to relax me and as usual I knew NOTHING at all. I did ask for a smaller dose but they rarely listen. The Dr says if I need the other eye done he will cooperate. I asked him how did they get me out of the recliner, he said I was lifted in to a wheelchair. The Dr said do you remember your husband kissing you? I looked over at DH and said Did YOU? He said of course I did, don't I always. The best moment of my day and to think when he asked me to marry him 50 years ago. I said, "I don't want to be married, I will live with you." He said." No way." My mother and most of her sisters had bad marriages and divorce and I wanted no part of that. I felt I would be able to just walk away.
He insisted and he was right,. I smile when I think of the Dr telling me that. I doubt my DH would have . HUGS Pat in Maine.

I still have my ever so long goal to get to 165, that puts me in to overweight not Normal. I was told it would not happen and I believed it. I love Spark for the healthy lifestyle not diet but at first I lost well and then the dreaded Plateau.
Sharon I would love to stay with you all for another month if you are doing it again..
I like this team a lot. HUGS pat

Good morning all. I hope the storms through the mid west last night didn't hit any of our people here. I know one hit very near to Tulsa. The news reports are saying Tulsa, but from what I've been told by my FB friends who live there it was east of town. I've seen the video of it and for one who's never seen a tornado up close and personal, it would be an experience. I have and know what they can do. It is a real lesson in natures power.

Sharon, yes we are very lucky to have such supportive partners. My ex was the least supportive person when it came to weight loss. He was thin and could eat whatever he wanted and would tell me ' I don't know why you're trying that, you know it's not going to work'. Back then I didn't have nearly as much to lose as I do now, but it felt impossible because of all the negative talk I heard.

Well today is the last day of May, it's hard to believe this month is over already. I don't weigh again until Monday, so don't know exactly where I stand for this month. I feel good about my progress though. I know that I didn't get 6 hrs of sleep every night, but I feel like a made real progress on the sleep end of things.
I still need to work on the tracking of my food. It is just such a pain. LOL. I know we all have some issues with this and if I really want to know how much I'm eating I need to do it.

So, I'm thinking that my goals for June will again be tracking my food and sleep. I think I'll add in getting a little more cardio. I'm thinking 10 mins a day. I should be able to add that in even here at work.

I hope everyone else is pleased with the progress they made during the month of May.

Tessa - tracking for me is a pain but it really puts your eating in perspective so good job! I'm looking forward to June myself. I'll be setting up a new thread for those of us that are working on specific goals.

Jacque - we are lucky our guy are so cooperative. A lot of times I eat very light or something Norm doesn't care for. He always makes his own meal. When I do cook, I tend to make enough so he has leftovers to create another meal with. That helps both of us!

Good job Tessa, yes let's jump right into June with a positive note.

Sharon, you're right Robby would never intentionally sabotage my efforts. He never says anything about my healthier choices and is always good about my healthier alternatives when I'm cooking at home.

Jacque - eating out is truly difficult to record. Unless you go to a fast food type restaurant that displays their nutrition information. I never know how to track it so I just don't which isn't helping me either. Since we've returned home, all our restaurant meals I've been able to look up and record correctly (one would think but who knows for sure) I am pleased about today as it's my first day of tracking in three weeks that I hit a bullseye. I was in range on every thing I track! Sounds easy but not as easy as you would think. Good luck on losing more weight. Shoot for 20 and be happy if it's only 10. If you were shooting for 10, you might only lose 2 lbs. This has given you a good focus. If Robby is like Norm and I believe they are, he would never hurt your efforts intentionally. When Norm knows I'm really trying, he'll ask me if it will fit in with my day. Both men love us fat or thin but that's another reason to get better health. We want to be around for them a long time.

Sharon, I have about 21/2 weeks to lose 15 lbs. I will weigh on Monday again. I had lost 5 last week and am hoping for another good week. 5# 4 weeks in a row a tough challenge, but it has really made me focus on what I put in my mouth. Robby has even noticed, even though he won't say anything one way or the other about it. After all his years of having to be so strict about his diet, he says he'll never diet again and will never tell anyone they need to. While I understand where he's coming from, that makes it tough for me sometimes, but I really think it's a good thing for me. If I'm really determined then his habits won't bother me. I can find a healthy alternative just about everywhere we go to eat and this past week or so I have. My biggest challenge with the eating out is not knowing what goes into something. I can't judge my calorie count and since most of the places we go are local, they don't have a nutritional guide anywhere. I'll keep plugging away and even if I don't make the 20 lbs, I can feel good that I'm trying.

Well, Ladies - it's almost the end of the month already! How are you doing on meeting your goals. To be honest, I had to skip back and refresh my memory. I am glad to say I am right on track however I'm disappointed I had to look. Obviously, I haven't been concentrating on them! The 5% Challenge saved me for the month of May!

Pat - I am so glad to hear your weight went down. It is so frustrating to be on a plateau for so long. I'm happy the Spark Solution is giving you some tips and insight that will help you reach your goals. I do think the fluids and drinking water is a big help.

Jacque - you are doing so well, how are you doing with your 20 lb loss you were shooting for?

Pat, it's good that you are seeing some differences. I know you've been frustrated about the scale not moving. I'm glad the book has helped out.

Sharon, I usually just mix the shake mix in and eat it. It's such a pain to have to get the blender out and then put it back away. I don't have anywhere to leave it out. I have put the yogurt into a shake also though. During the winter I was mixing it into my oatmeal and cream of wheat. That way I'm getting the nutrition and it keeps me from adding any sugar to them.
Good job for staying in range yesterday. The roast beef on the rolls sounds good.

Tessa, good job on getting a handle on the eating. I hope you are able to continue once you get back to work.

I have to get back on track with my tracking. I've been a little lax in that department. I have been watching what I eat, but haven't been recording it and we all know what happens then, lol
We're going for chinese for lunch today, I think, so I will definitely have to do a shake for dinner tonight to help counter the sodium.

I am very surprised I actually weighed in today to a couple of pounds down. I have bee stuck at the weight almost two years. I just kept on doing everything right I was in perfect maintenance mode.
Then I decided to order the Spark solution. Just because I wanted to read it. I still have not looked at any recipes but I am reading it chapter by chapter..

The book said if you have lost weight you should change your program. A while back another sparker changed everything and she just set up another account. I wrote and asked if my account had to be changed so I redid my nutrition and it lowered the calories and carbs.

I eat the same food bit I have had to tweak it. One tablespoon of fax seed 1/8 of a cup here or there. I cook almost all of our food so it easy for me to do.
They also emphasized that you should drink FLUIDS. I have been drinking lots of very weak coffee with stevia, Maybe those fluids have made the difference.
I will go to the end of the month before I put in my new weight. This might just be a coincidence. I was certain I would never lose the weight. My goal is 165 that puts me in overweight instead of obese. This morning it was 173, I have not been that close in forever.
We shall see. I will continue reading the Spark solution Hugs Pat in Maine. emoticon

Tess - good job! You are making a good effort to exercise and eat right!

Jacque - I've never tried the Vi shake in greek yogurt. Do you just mix it in and eat it or do you make a shake with it?

I managed to eat withing my calorie range for my three meals but it leaves me no room to have a snack later. I really like my bedtime snack but I enjoyed the roll I had at lunch time. Arby's has been selling the roast beef sandwich on the King's Hawaiian Roll and the last couple of times Norm has ordered it while I get a salad. It looked so good, I bought the stuff to make it at home and control what I put in it. My DS really enjoyed it as it was something new for him.

We've been away in the motorhome for 2 nights, managed a walk Monday afternoon and this morning but it rained hard all day Tuesday so we stayed in and read/watched DVDs. Both of us needed a break and we've seen my FIL twice (and fed him, I think it'll take him a little time to get used to looking after himself).
While away it was easy to stick to only eating at meal times, this is a step in the right direction.
Working the rest of this week then we have another funeral on Monday.
I want to have my eating under control in June.

Sharon, it's all about the choices and if it was worth it, then you go for it. You've been doing great and I have no doubt you'll continue to. You have found your drive again. I'm glad to see we all seem to have found new energy to reach our goals.

My eating today has been pretty good. Had greek yogurt with my Vi shake mix in it for breakfast, and a hamburger steak with mashed potatoes and green beans for lunch. I had a light snack a few minutes ago, so am not ready for any kind of dinner. Also have a horrible headache today and that really keeps me from wanting to eat.

Tammy, hope y'all have a great time.

Brenda, keep up the walking. Hope the rain lets up for y'all.

Well, got to get busy have a good evening all.

Brenda - I make faux mashed potatoes with cauliflower often for myself. Norm prefers the instant mashed potatoes but I love the cauliflower. I mass it with a little butter and a little sour cream and it's delicious.

I was proud that my DS came for lunch and I was able to stay within my calorie limit for the meal. I did splurge and eat some roast beef on a Kings Hawaiian Hamburger bun. Worth the splurge IMHO!

We are about to hook up the car to the motorhome - right after breakfast. Summer school is already in session in our town, so we are waiting for the traffic to slow down. We are actually staying in two different parks; we couldn't get in to the trout park until Sunday afternoon. Both will have good places to walk and I have my resistance bands with me also.

Have a good day, and hello to all!

Today was a really good day. The yard dried up a lot so it was easier to work in. I was able to trim some trees. I was supposed to walk in the morning but others had errands so just 2 of us walked at 3pm. 75 minutes. 4 miles. We like to walk at just that pace it works for me.
I went out in to the yard and was able to get my lockers moved.I had some metal poles from my shop days to I laid them on the floor and rolled it over the driveway and over the yard DH helped me lift it up I have taken pictures but I am happy with the result. I am very pleased and I have almost 15,000 steps.
I changed my numbers on the nutrition tracker after reading the Spark solution. I am really learning a lot. Self improvement for certain. Woo Hoo. Pat in Maine. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Good morning all. It's a beautiful day today.

Tammy, Tuesday is always my Monday, lol. I can't tell you what day it is most of the time, without looking at something first.

I got a trip to the gym in yesterday and wanted to this morning, but didn't make it. I might try and get by there this afternoon when I'm done with the laundry. I have an appointment to get my hair cut this afternoon too.

Jacque, great! Way to go, friend!

How is everyone this morning? Ready for a new week? I know it is Tuesday, but it sure seems like a Monday to me.

I printed of the Garlic Brown Sugar Chicken spark recipe this morning and it is on DH's and my menu for lunch. I was just in the mood for something different. I think that will make a wonderful lunch when paired with sweet potatoes and then watermelon for dessert.

Have a good day!

Good evening all. I'm not going to try and answer all the posts, as I missed posting yesterday.

Sharon, you're going great keep it up and you'll make your 12 lbs well before July.

Tessa, stress is such a tough one. We all go through it and I hope you find a way to relieve yours. Everyone has their own key.

Good job to everyone else as well. Keep on with all the hard work toward your personal challenge.

I weighed this morning at the gym and was shocked. I'm down 5.5# this week. I have no idea what worked better for me. On the weeks I think I'll have a gain or nothing I do well and on the weeks I feel like I should have a loss, I stay the same or gain. I'm thrilled with the loss and know that I made better choices. I will continue to try and make better choices.
As for my sleep goal, I actually did better than I thought I would. I came closer to 6 hrs each night than I ever thought I'd get. I'm pleased with this and it will continue to be a challenge goal for me.

Good morning!

Hey, girls, check out Pat's blog about the rice bags that she makes. There is lots of good info in there. Thank you, Pat.

Brenda, my treadmill isn't as nice as yours - but yours does sound wonderful. Thanks for the info - who knows when I might be in the market for one?

SS, 10#! That's great!

Tessa, Sorry about the stress in your life. I go through periods of extreme stress but don't happen to be in one now. Do you still walk to church sometimes? I still think about that and how cool that would be.

I got a nice amount of walking in today, and was glad of that, plus ate fairly well, in spite of the holiday food, so I was glad of that as well. Have a good Monday!

Hey BOOBERRY, Have you ever thought about eating cooked cauliflower. There is a recipe called CAULIFLOWER MASHED POTATOES. On Spark. I just cook it in the microwave and add a little oil or oleo, very little is needed.

I use sweet potatoes with some meats, I use it to thicken soups..
DH and I eat cauliflower mashed and we enjoy the taste and texture.

My DH likes meat and potatoes -English style cooking for my generation. We rarely eat pasta or tomato products. Tomatoes did not grow in our area of England way too cold and wet.
These days we try hard to not do any of the "whites"-Potatoes, pasta and white flour.
I love a small baked potato, well washed so I can eat the skin. Whilst it is hot I rub a little bit of butter oil or oleo on the outside so you get the taste and texture on the skin.
SHARON
I am having a cataract removed on my lazy eye on THURSDAY. I am quite concerned about it. My eye was never treated as a child we were too poor to find Drs.
The eye never worked well for me. I have 20/100 and getting glasses like that is awkward. The Eye Dr said if we remove the beginning cataract just maybe it will help my vision.
I have no-one in our family who had cataracts and no-one wore glasses except one cousin, out of 43. Pat in Maine. Well done you are well motivated by now. emoticon

Tessa - I am sorry you are going through a rough patch but hang in there with the exercise. It will also help relieve the stress. Good luck for your May exercise minutes. June will be here before you know it.

Well done Sharon, that's brilliant.

I've had another horrible week which I've got through by eating-not a great strategy I know. I haven't even found time for exercise, I'm annoyed I'm unlikely to get my 1000 minutes this month.
My plan is that June will be better and I will be able to get and stay on track.

We're away for a couple of nights this week (near my FIL so we can see him again), hoping this will be a good break, if brief..

Yes, Tammy - I have lost over 10 lbs since returning home from AZ. My ticker shows a 9 lb loss which is what I've lost in the 5% challenge. I need to lose 3 lbs more to reach my goal for the challenge and I have until July 8th so I better do better than that. I was a leader of a TOPS club and we met and weighed in on Wednesday. They felt that gave you a couple days of hard work before the weekend and a couple days to atone after the weekend if you had social activities. I'm not sure how that works if you're working to lose weight but that was their thought process.

Ruthann - I'm glad you aren't turning to emotional eating through all your stress. It's good to lose it slow and steady as it's easier to keep it off. I'll be praying for you and especially your son this week.

Brenda - some days it irritates me that I have to think of so much with my eating! I have to watch my calories, sodium, fat and sugar just to survive. Then we have to exercise as well. No wonder when my life got so busy, I let it all slide. But just tracking has me feeling better already.

Pat - I'm sure you mentioned what the eye surgery is for (cataracts??) but I'm forgotten. I hope all goes well. I've had so many surgeries over the years and have never been afraid but surgery on my eyes is a different story. There is no room for error in my mind. Thanks for the congrats on my weight loss. I finally am back to working on it again. I am also one of your blog followers! I don't always comment but you can be sure lots of us are reading your blogs.

SS, doesn't that make almost 10 pounds for you? That is great!

Ruthann, thoughts and prayers...

Jacque, a little walking is very good!

Pat, I enjoyed your blog this morning - as I always do enjoy them! If you others haven't checked out her blogs, I highly recommend them.

Brenda, how is that walking coming? Do you read or watch TV or listen to your music as you walk? You may have said in the past, but I don't remember.

I didn't get my walking in until later yesterday, but I DID get it in. Even with eating out, I was happy with my weighin this morning. It isn't the one that I record right now; with BLC that I just finished and will start again soon, we weigh in on Wednesdays. That seems odd to me, since when I started Sparking, it was on a Sunday, so I ALWAYS weighed in on Sunday. Obviously, I was pretty rigid back in the day. emoticon

Good job Sharon. You are doing great. Keep it up.

Ruthann, hope you made it to Ma and everything goes well for DS. Pop in when you can.

Pat, too bad you didn't get to see the relatives, but better to be safe. I've had issues here at work getting posts in too. I get frustrated with it too.

It's been a quiet day today. I did go out at lunch and do a little shopping. Didn't really buy anything, but got a little walking in.

Congrats again. I have my eye surgery this week so I will not be able to exercise to keep the pressure low.
I so wanted to see our family from Plattsburgh but rain , wind and snow in the mountains was just too risky for one day Drive Saturday stay Sunday home Monday. A lovely day was hoped for but I called last night and gave the our permission not to come. I know it was appreciated and now we and they have so much rain they have water in the house.
I am reading the Spark Solution one of my friends was on south beach and she like recipes and she has lost several pounds over the 2 weeks. I gave her a free book and she was delighted. She is quite a bit older than I am but she sure walks fast.
I will be able to improve myself after this month has gone by.
It seems to have motivated some f you, well done. Stay with it. It's a journey that will help all kinds of conditions. Pat in Maine.

GOOD JOB Sharron....WAY TO GO!
I am also down a pound.

I had cooked some White fish a while ago and I breaded the pieces and I had cooked so much at one that I froze the rest and I took it out frozen and put it in in my Big Boss. Slow oven for 15 minutes. Perfect! Like it just was cooked. Nice and crispy and NOT greasy.

When I get back in June (18) I will do a lot more with it.

My WI this morning showed a 2 lb loss for the week! After such a good loss last week, I guess I can't complain. I ate very well and didn't go hungry, my body is working just the way it should be.

Brenda - I find it amazing how quickly our bodies adjust to what we eat. Your high grease meal shows that your body just isn't used to that. If you ate it on a regular basis, it wouldn't have reacted. A personal subject and may be too much info, but I notice my restroom habits change dramatically when I eat the way I should. Of course, I have IBS so it's not surprising that's where I notice it first.

Hi, friends!

Brenda, Sorry about the upset stomach from the grease. I have had that problem before.
I wish we had lettuce from the garden. I am thinking we didn't get it in early enough, but I will try to plant some for fall.

I had to buy beet seeds and DH was up on a ladder yesterday, and after two people falling and one dieing in the past year, I wouldn't leave to go buy the seeds until he was done so that I could keep an eye on him. I did finally get to the store yesterday afternoon, and will sow them this morning. I am hoping for lots of veggies, some to eat, some to freeze, some to give away. I will go sow the seeds in a bit and water all of my flowers/plants.

The scales were down nicely over the past two days. It must be the squats from gardening. emoticon

Jacque - I just signed on to track my walk. I used the map my route tool on SP and I walked 1.42 miles. Just a nice 20-30 minute walk. I have to walk to PU our mail this afternoon which is another 1/2 mile so I'm happy with that for a day.

I'm having bean soup for lunch and a pear. For dinner I'm having a strawberry Vi shake as I want to eat light as I have my WI in the morning. Wish me luck!

Good morning all. The sun is shining here today after a surprise rain storm last night. It was raining so hard and the thunder, lightning and wind, I thought for a while we were going to have to cancel the races. It finally quit and they continued on. Glad I don't have to stay all night, they didn't get done til about 11 I guess.

Sharon, good job on eating at home all day yesterday. I like the frozen yogurt treats too. Enjoy your walk this morning. How long of a distance are you getting in walking the perimeter? It makes for a nice way to track if you walk the same thing always.

Tammy, have fun gardening. I love fresh veggies, but am not much of a gardener. I pretty much have to rely on either farmers markets or friends who garden. I've just never had much success at it. My parents always had a big garden when we were growing up, so I love the harvest, lol.

Well, I didn't have the best lunch in the world yesterday, but I did good and waited til I got home to eat my green beans for dinner. The only problem there is that I didn't get home til almost 9:30. I don't like to eat that late. I didn't eat a lot though, just one bowl. They were good.
I'm fighting a headache this morning. I need to get rid of it.
It's hard to believe this month is almost over already. I haven't checked my charts, but I don't think I've done too well on my goal of 6 hrs sleep a night. I hope the rest of you are on track with your goals for this month.

Tammy - Once again, the individual packaged frzn yogurt was a little pricey but it was really good. I got the Double Fudge Swirl as I've been eating so much fruit I wanted something that tasted like a treat. I was surprised at the texture as it was so smooth and it didn't have the tart taste of a Greek yogurt. I don't know how they do that but overall I give it a high A grade, lol. I will probably buy them again as it's a great alternative to ice cream.

The sun is out again this morning so I'm hoping to walk the perimeter of our community. I want to get in the habit of doing that once a day.

SS, did you like the frozen yogurts? I am thinking it would be nice to have some with us for our camping expedition coming up. WTG on eating home! Maybe someone in your neighborhood would have a Big Boss oven - I don't know that I would have purchased one if my BF hadn't raved about hers, and then Ruth Ann reminded me that I had it by her recent post on here.

I got walking minutes and gardening minutes, and even with Zumba a couple of times this week, I am more sore this morning after the gardening minutes. I will be planting zucchini, yellow squash, and beets this morning. I am so looking forward to fresh produce.

While at WalMart today, I checked to see if they had The Boss but they said they don't carry it in that store. You can have it shipped to the store with no shipping but I was wanting to look at it first. I love the new prepacked fruits and veggies, especially the veggies that you can toss in the microwave. They may be a little more than the frozen but worth the price for the convenience.

I ate home all meals and still have calories for an after dinner treat before I go to bed. I'm going to try one of the Healthy Choice Frozen Yogurts for 100 calories. I have a hankering for some ice cream but I'm not sure why - it is cold and rainy!

I love my microwaves. Does Halogen Brown meats etc. I have not heard about it. We rarely watch TV. I will check it out.
Using my microwave so much I am really happy to say we eat so many more vegetables and fruits. I too have been baking this morning hoping the grand kids will be here. It is depending on the weather. It is all in the freezer so that is good.
As soon as I could walk on the yard I planted a lot of annuals I want it to look nice in August because I am hoping the rest of our small family will be with us to celebrate 50 years of a fabulous marriage.
I hope the annuals will do well because most of the perennials will have flowered by then.
I hope the rain will move out to sea and let us all have a great weekend. Pat in Maine. emoticon emoticon emoticon

I tried out the halogen oven today! I made oven sweet potato chunks...I would season them more next time, but I held back because I wasn't quite sure of what I was doing. But approximately 15 minutes vs. 45 is pretty darn good!

I am going to find out how my BF does her roasted chicken in it. I have already told DH that I am going to do this. I can see how it would be very handy in the motorhome.

I got walking time and gardening time and going to call fitness done for the day.

Well, Robby will get his green beans for dinner tonight, lol. They are cooked and in the fridge so he'll have to heat them up. I burnt my lip trying to taste them last night, lol. It's been a quiet day here at work so far. I'm suppose to have someone coming in here in a few minutes to get a massage, so I'm trying to get my lunch eaten and check in here at the same time.

Sharon, I hope you have a successful 'no restaurant' day. Drink that water and get rid of that sodium. I've always known that restaurants used lots of salt, but didn't really realize how much until I started to look at nutrition counters. I had over 1300 mg just in my lunch yesterday and all I had was a half of a sandwich, salad and fries and it doesn't include the salad in the count.

Tammy, I'm glad you're having some cooler weather. Hope you got your walk in.

Here's to a day without restaurant food for me! My lunch out was within calorie range but once again full of sodium. Lots of water for me again today!

Hi, friends!

Tammy Trying Out the Halogen Oven didn't happen yesterday; perhaps today!

Pat, your day sounds wonderful!

Jacque, your crockpot fresh green beans that almost were sound wonderful! I imagine I am going to be buying some green beans!

I have really been watching that I get a minimum of 5 freggies and it is making a difference in how I feel.

No Zumba today, but it is cooler and I look forward to a nice walk. DH and I need to run some errands as well.

Have a good day, friends!

I had such a great time with my Spark friend. She lives in NH for 5 months of the year the rest of the time she is abroad. I and another friend had lunch with her last time she was in NH so this time I invited her to the house to show her around the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens we were together three days , just 2 nights, we did have fun despite the rain.
I drove her along the coast and showed her some light houses.
Most things in Maine open this weekend so there were no crowds yet. It was great. We talked Spark a lot and kind of compared notes. HUGS Pat in Maine. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Good afternoon. It looks like you all have been busy on here today.

Sharon, that's good that you've been able to change your menu after tracking and before eating. I did make some changes in my Chili's choice the other day after looking it up and seeing how many calories there were. I had almost the exact same meal on only had 300 calories instead of like 11-1200 calories. I was shocked at how many more calories there were.

Tammy, I'm glad you enjoyed your Zumba class. I've wanted to go to one, but they don't happen at the right times at my gym for me and I don't have room in the 5th wheel to do a tape of one. I hope you continue to enjoy yourself there.

Brenda, good job on getting back on to the treadmill today. Keep up the good work.

I have all my work done until race time and am about ready to fall asleep here. I guess I need to find something to do to keep me awake. Have a good afternoon all.

Tammy - it really sounds like you enjoyed your first Zumba class. I don't know of any around here but I might just try it out this fall in AZ.

Jacque - I am a spontaneous eater myself so figuring anything out in advance is painful. I usually decide what I want to eat and enter it in the tracker before I actually eat it versus after I have eaten. I noticed I have made a few changes and altered portion sizes once I knew the calorie count. I could never plan for a week in advance. However, I can see myself repeating meals as time goes on just to save myself the work. I love the Groupings tab in the tracker!

Pat - last fall when I turned 65 and went on Medicare, I went to the doctor for the first time in several years. We had so many medical bills after Norm's heart attack and surgery that I let my own health go. Needless to say, she put me through every test she could think of. So I know how you feel about the multiple procedures. The prep work for the colonoscopy is the worst though. I'm so glad you were able to spend time with a Spark Friend. Did you just meet her or is she a someone you have met previously?

Brenda, I enjoyed the Zumba enough that I am planning on going back this morning. They have regular Zumba on Mondays and Wednesdays and Zumba toning on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I just wanted to explore the regular Zumba first, and then when we get back from DS's wedding the first weed in June, I might explore the Zumba toning. The lady that teaches it is in the regular class, and she is around my age and is a walking advertisement for toning...I have two left feet, and I made up my mind that in spite of that plus my hearing problem, plus, plus, plus I was going to give it my best effort. There was a mirror along the front of the room, too, and at first I thought "what in the world? This isn't going to be good", but it was actually kind of fun. Everyone was doing whatever there best effort was, and there were all ages, but everyone was there to have fun/get healthier, etc. The gal that led the class shared that she had lost 85 pounds, and Zumba had helped her to do it. That was pretty impressive, I think.

What is really funny is that my youngest sister has just started going to a Zumba class with her three daughters...we compare notes on it. Plus, the youngest sister is in a weight loss challenge with my other sister. Youngest is 16 years younger than me, other sister is a year and a half younger than me.

Pat, are your procedures over? I love that you spend time with your Spark friends.

Ruthann, I think today will be the Tammy Trying Out the Oven Day. High time! Sharon, I got mine at WalMart, in the store actually, after my BF got hers and raved about it. That was right before our Very Stressful Time Last Fall with DD, so I put it away when all of that evolved as it did. Now I am ready to try something new and that is the new!

Hello to all! I want to get some more done before walking to Zumba this morning.

I am pleased the scale moved down a pound. I just hope the inches are moving as well to make the MoG dress fit just a bit better.

I am reading the posts but having several medical procedures this month has left me lacking in posting. I always track my breakfast and that way if I switch I simply use the deleted multiple entries and add the right items for the new day.

Today I spent an entre day with a Spark friend and we had a great time so now we are sparking together. I am doing very well and I am happy I am able to eat right and exercise daily. Only thing that ever frustrates me is talking about he scale. HUGS Pat in Maine.

Sharon, good job on the advanced tracking. I just don't know if I could do that, lol. I'm too much of an impulsive eater. I could do breakfast with no problem and maybe even dinner on work nights. But our afternoon lunch is whatever strikes our fancy for the day. I can usually make a decent choice, but to plan it in advance. I don't see it happening. You're having good success at it and I'm proud of you for attempting it.
