Great job Dee - congrats!

I have managed to keep on track this week. Cast comes off Wednesday so I will get to see what my true weight is but from what I can tell, I am maintaining!

How is everyone doing?

I missed last weeks blog so going to try to do two this week. I had Ali all day yesterday (and evening) which meant this weeks challenge is a day late..lol.

So this week's challenge:

We all know that generally speaking, eating several small meals a day is better than just three squares. It keeps your blood sugars stable and revs your metabolism. So we're concentrating on our snacking this week - healthy snacking!

The challenge is to have three healthy snack stops each day, in addition to three meals. Each day, post what your snacks were - even if you went a bit naughty! :)

By seeing what each other are eating, we will share ideas and may learn something new to try.

This week's food challenge is to not eat out for the week. No takeaway. No Subways. No bought lunches for work. No night out with the girls.

You can have 'home takeaways', eg make your own pizza at home. You can have supermarket bought nuke-a-meals. But nothing that is presented to you in a ready-to-eat state.


This challenge is to help us all be more conscientious about meal preparation (and saving money in the process!) Let's see how much we can do. Ar you up for it? emoticon

I walked an hour today as well, but that's only 2 miles when my grandchildren are walking with me--especially the little one, with such short legs!

My grandson's school is doing a marathon--each kid is supposed to walk 25.2 miles by 13 Nov, and then they'll walk the last mile together. There's a training schedule, 1/4 to 3/4 miles each day, but we've been doing about a mile (or 2) each day instead of the shorter distances.

wrote blog (FINALLY)

did some strength training AND some cardio

I walked for 1 hour yesterday.
Only got to 8837 steps for the day so I was a little short of my 10,000 goal.
I still need to do 3 more strength exercises this week.

Day Two:

Got 9 hours of sleep
Ate 5 servings of fruits/veggies
Stayed within my Daily Calorie limit
Hopefully will have my 64 oz of water before I go to bed.

I didn't do any exercising today because I felt chilled and thought I was getting sick. I hope not!

walked for 65 minutes today
I am at 8885 steps and it is i:15 so will definately get my 10000 steps in today.
Tomorrow I will do my other strength exercises for the week.

I walked for 65 minutes today.
I did wall pushups - 2 sets of 25
I am at 9,894 steps so will make my 10,000 steps today.

That means I have completed all my goals for today! Hooray!

October goal to lose 2 pounds.

Weekly goal will be things I definately need to pay more attention to!

1. Exercise 30 min a day.
2. Do 3 strength twice a week.
3. 10,000 steps a day.

I am strong, I can do this! I WILL DO THIS and record here each day.

I'm in. Just now getting a chance to respond.

For me since classes have started back my goals are going to be to
Exercise 30min daily
Strenght exercises no less than 2 x a wk
and my third most challenging is to find a way to reduce my stress level

hehe yeah I weighed when I got home from the hospital to give me a baseline - that is what I am using to guide me. I am not looking to lose weight (or my docs will holler at me). Maintenance is good - gaining 10 pounds, heck no. Those last 10 pounds are brutal - no thanks!

I am going to go for "other" type goals since I am rehabbing my foot:

Blog once a week - I slack here...I slack on my personal blog - time to quit slacking!

Strength exercises - figure out a new plan to do while I am healing. Going to start with twice a week and increase if I can tolerate it.

Diet wise - using the tracker daily, maintaining my weight (interesting weighing oneself with a cast..hehe)

Sanity wise - daily work on some craft project. Tis the season!

I'm in!! Here are my goals for the month.

I will lose four pounds during the month.
I will eat a total of five servings of fruits/veggies each day.
I will sleep 7-8 hours each night.
I will drink 64 oz. of water every day.

Non-goals, but will try to do it anyway:
Stay within my Spark-recommended calorie range
Walk my dog daily
Log every calorie I consume

This is my time!! This time I will!!

OK here are my goals for October.
1) to lose 8 pounds by the end of the month (2 lb.
per week)
2) to eat at least 2 fruit and 3 vegetables a day
3) to finish my sewing projects for the church bazaar
4) to increase my walking goal from 5000 to 6500.

Get Ready....Get Set....GO!


SO October is here and Halloween is on the way (along with all the other holidays!!!). So it clearly is time do a challenge! Pick your goals to start off with and let's all say good bye to some pounds or bad habits as we say good-bye to the summer.

I will be posting a weekly challenge and will continue to post the daily challenges. Post what your goal for the month of October is. Again it doesn't have to be weight loss - it can be anything you choose.

For this week:

Choose at least 3 of the following goals (or choose goals of your own!), and try to stick with them PERFECTLY for the week. You can do ANYTHING for a week!

If you want to challenge yourself with more than 3 goals, that is GREAT!

And I want you to post every day on how you've done!



Water: min 64 oz
Nutrition: get in those veggies and fruits every day!
Exercise: 30 minutes exercise every day - minimum
Strength: 3 strength exercises - at least twice a week
10K a Day: 10,000 steps - every day
Journaling: Log every calorie you consume
Moderation: Stay within your Spark-recommended calorie range
Motivation: Post to your Sparks team - every day!
Rest: 7-8 hours sleep every night
