I've really enjoyed both episodes so far. You're right about the rehashing storylines. I knew we wouldn't get to see purgatory except in flashback form. Because that's how we see everything that happens between seasons! I'm just really glad we got real Sam back this year. So far it seems he's the sweetie from earlier seasons when he could just look at someone and simply say "Please" and they'd do anything he asked. As for the woman he just walked out on? Yeah, I'm going to watch out for her. She's pretty much guaranteed to be some form of crazy or monster or crazy monster. Why? Because she was with Sam! I realize so far all we know is she's a vet but his first kiss was with a fox demon thingie and let's not forget Madison. Then he hooked up with Ruby. But will Dean forgive Sam for thinking he was dead? What will we learn about the thing Dean brought from Purgatory with him? Will Castiel come back? Will they succeed in banishing all demons from Earth in the season finale and where will Sam be blown to in the attempt? I'm looking forward to finding out!

The Sam/girl/dog thing seems like a re-hash of Dean/Lisa/Ben. Essentially, this is the 2nd time they did something to Dean then did the exact same thing with Sam. Dean goes to hell, Sam goes to hell. Dean gets girl and family while Sam's gone, Sam gets girl and family while Dean's gone. I'm sure they're going to want to explain who the girl is and all, but it just doesn't seem relevant to moving them forward. Sam's already had and lost plenty of girls, so why is this one so special?

I'm trying to remember how Kevin reacted to Demon!Meg the first time he met her. I remember how Chuck was able to figure out more what was going on, but then again he could see what was happening whereas Kevin can only read the tablets. He's been in the life for a year though, so I'd think he'd have some idea of what was going on.

Hey, I enjoyed it. The point of Sam and the girl and dog is that she's who he left when he went to meet Dean, so I'm pretty sure that this girl is going to be a recurring character once Sam mans up and tells Dean he's with a girl.

It was a lot of set-up, which would be trouble for new folks, but I'm anticipating what's coming, so it worked for me. It was nice to see Sam being calm and cool about not hunting and stuff. I think the new, grown-up Sam could be really interesting.

As for the prophet, I guess we'll see where that goes. I suppose being able to read the word of God doesn't give you demon-spotting abilities!

I have a headache tonight so I was somewhat unfocused while I was watching the episode. Still, I thought it was pretty good. The volume of flashbacks seemed excessive, and in some ways pointless, so I'm hoping the relevancy of them will be shown later in the season. I am curious about the vampire and I want to know more about purgatory, but why do we care if Sam hit a dog and dated a woman? She doesn't appear to be a demon or angel, so what's the point? Can we say Trust in Carver like we said Trust in Kripke?

Also, it seemed a little cruel what they did to Kevin. Though, he's a prophet, so how could he look at Channing and not realize she had a demon in her? You'd think he would've figured it out. Writing ploy or error?

What did everyone else think?
