My DH isn't a clutterer but he throws away stuff of mine then denies it. Crazy-making. emoticon

You girls are like me in that I've learned to ignore clutter. It's hard because I have never lived like this. My EX was so neat and clean. I look around at my house now and everything in every room is clutter. I don't have the energy to fix it and I hurt so I can't clean it up like I use to.
I really miss my youth and no pain body.
He is a good guy but he leaves cupboards and drawers open which I can't stand. He won't do any chores around the house. I had the house painted in Oct. and we still don't have lights up outside. He's an electrician.... He cut a 60' cedar tree and all my Rhodes out of the area between our neighbors house and the stump still sits there. I have no privacy now and he knows that is very important to me. He cut down a tree in the back yard and left the trunk 8 feet tall. It all looks horrible. OK OK I am done bitching now.

My husband also leaves his book or magazine open on the table in the spot that I eat breakfast and read my own items but he's getting better since I pointed it out.

He also leaves empty grocery bags, receipts, recycling on the counter when he knows that clutter drives me crazy.

He leaves his clothes all over the floor of my study even though I gave him a laundry basket to use. I honestly believe he just doesn't see the clutter. I've become much better over the years of ignoring a lot of it as I am definitely not going to pick up his clothes. Although, I do tend to fix the other things he does that drive me crazy.

And, he's a good man and these things aren't enough to change the love I have for him. 33 years married in March.

My name is Joanna not Joanne, please and thank you.

DH: not much, I try to be grateful that he works hard, tries hard. Years ago I stopped buying toothpaste in tubes, only the plastic bottles of Colgate! He had sinus surgery so that fixed the snoring. He has no idea where anything in the house belongs, it's laughable. I recommend the Oxo Good Grips jar opener, it's like a triangle with a handle. www.oxo.com/jar-opener-337

Son, who has autism, mood disorder, etc.: yells at me all the time, has very poor hygiene so spreads gems and I get sick. But he is a good helper and is making progress, he's even working on yelling less.

Love them both dearly. Grateful & thank God every day for them.

How can I tell you in this little space. He never puts anything away. He can't find anything. He leaves shoes everywhere and I trip on them. Even the stairs. He's lazy. He is becoming controlling. He does make me laugh and he does treat me well. He takes care of me.
He drops his clothes on the floor right by the bed as he's getting in. I told him, "I will NOT pick up your dirty shorts!" He quit wearing them.
But he understands my pain and tries to help me out. But he does put lids on too tight and I can't open them.
I guess I'll keep him awhile.

It's mostly congestion I think because it's not an every night thing, only when he's "stuffy". And no, he's never been tested, suggested it, but I can't make him do it. He has to want it first.

Cyndi, has he ever had a sleep study done? I snored like an old man. (I couldn't think of a better comparison)...I found out I have severe obstructive sleep apnea. My dad and his dad also had it. I got a BIPAP machine and now peace is restored. Maybe look into that. the new machines hardly make any sound at all. I have oxygen as well in mine so it has been a real relief. Although it does take some getting used to.

Okay, I'll play... his snoring. I know he can't help it but... yeah, it gets to me, especially when I'm having trouble sleeping already.

o my gosh.
Where do I begin????
I think the thing that bothers me the most is that he buys tons of things and they sit in piles all over the house....It clutters my soul.

What are the little things that bother you about the people closest to you? For example, my husband always squeezes the toothpaste illogically.
