Good morning :)

Well even though I missed 2 days at the gym this week, I still lost 3 pounds! That brings me to my 10 pound goal for the month of May and also to my goal of losing 10% of my starting body weight, which I was trying to reach by June 16th. Now on to our June challenge and my next personal goal of losing 20% (22 more pounds) by September 1st.

5/01/15: 204 START
5/08/15: 201 (-3)
5/15/15: 199 (-2)
5/22/15: 197 (-2)
5/29/15: 194 (-3)
6/01/15: GOAL = 194 (Mission accomplished!)

SUPERACHIEVER ~ Great job on the weight loss! emoticon emoticon You are so right about paying attention to what works and what doesn't. You are going to do great on your journey. This month was about figuring things out and now you can move forward knowing what you need to do! You are doing awsome :)

STORMY ~ 5 pounds for the month is no small task! Great job!!! As always, thank you for all you do for us.I can't wait to see pics of the bathroom progress :)

I hope you all have a wonderful day and enjoy your weekend. We've got 3 days counting today until the end of this challenge. Let's see what we can accomplish!

Well, I haven't had a real good month of May but then I was just getting my feet wet. As of today, I have lost a total of 3.4# since May 1. On a new program that appears to be better for me and my system and I'll see where I go with this one. So far I'm impressed. Any weight loss is better than none but even none teaches you things you didn't know before if you're serious enough to study your results for ups, downs and patterns. ;)

FAITHINJESUS218, I cook ever day since I'm retired. Always trying to make different dishes so that I won't get bored.

May did fly by. Too fast. As for those bumps in the road, I take them in stride and keep it moving. Can't beat myself up or spend to much time dwelling on it. I always promise myself that tomorrow ill do better.

Anyway, tomorrow is weigh in day ugh. I know I messed up one day during th holiday, Monday to be exact. Lol but I've done good since, but I don't expect to have lost anything this week. Still crossing my fingers.

I stepped out today, went shopping for bathroom tiles. Omg too many choices. I've been taking pics of my bathroom remodel progress. Will be posting as we go along. Over all I enjoyed my day out by myself. DH doesn't let me look at anything. Lol if he needs shower tiles that's all he wants to look at. I need to look at wall, shower, floor tiles to make sure I can find matching tiles for all. Then I checked out vanity and sink medicine cabinet. Found some contenders. , back to spark topics, lol. I think all that walking counts as EXERCISE right ladies?

SUPERACHIEVER, we are all in the same boat. But we ain't going down . We have to come up with a new game plan when it comes to eating and special occasions. Like memorial days, picnics, anniversary and birthdays.

Faith, don't worry, you're in good company. :) I can't believe I have to weigh in tomorrow. I'm not ready for it as I have been going through some transitions in my routines as well. Wedding Anniversary in the middle of the holiday weekend as well so that didn't help. Had to take 3 full days off of working out as I had overdone it. But, maybe, just maybe I'll have something good to report tomorrow but I'm not counting on it. It's been a transition period where I'm figuring out what I should and can do and what I shouldn't and mustn't do. hahaha. Well, once it's over, it should be clear sailing. :)

Good morning team! Hope you all are enjoying your day so far :) Tomorrow is that time again.... weigh in! I thought April went by fast, and this month has flown by as well. I am ready for May to be done though. This has been my first tough week for weight loss for me. Life has thrown me so many things to be done it has been hard to get my workouts in, I only worked out on Tuesday so far. I wasn't able to get to the gym Monday and Wednesday, and I really MISSED it! Not sure if I will get these final 3 pounds off by Monday to hit the goal, but that is okay. Like Stormy says, just a little bump in the road and I will go right over it. May have been good to get a little break, but I actually missed working out. This is long term and these weeks will happen. I feel like next week with the 1st being on Monday, it will be a new week and a new month that will get me back in the groove. I am excited for our June challenge! I hope I will see you all there :)

STORMY ~ I always love the Betty pics!

JIBBIE ~ Great job on the weight loss!

KACEY ~ Thanks again for the encouragement emoticon Stormy's house does sound like it is full of good cooking! emoticon

Not the 10# I would like, but I am staying at it thanks to the Phentermine and the great doctor I have at the Weight Loss Clinic. Still taking the 1/4 tablet, and I know that Sparks is totally and completely against weight loss medication, but at my age I have Metabolic Syndrome and I didn't want to have Type 2 diabetes, so I had to get this fat off finally.

Hi guys :) I missed you all! I wasn't here over the weekend and yesterday got very busy for me. I hope everyone is doing well. Thank you so much STORMY for the encouraging words and recipe. Thank you KACEY for reminding us to see the results that are not on the scale. There are many benefits to living healthy other than weight loss that we can focus on when that scale just won't budge. I hope you all have had a great day so far and enjoy your evening!

I hear that. I try to keep focused on the overall health improvement: even if the scale doesn't change, if my blood sugar stays in a good range... if my blood pressure is just about normal... if I can go up a flight of steps without huffing and puffing, then I figure I'm still making progress.

Eyes on the prize - the prize in this case being good health!

What could be more frustrating than not seeing the scale drop despite days or weeks of doing everything right? After all that hard work—all the cookies you didn't eat, all the willpower you maintained, all the time you logged at the gym—how could you not have lost any weight? It's enough to make even the most determined person throw in the towel.

Before you swear off exercise and declare yourself as someone who "will never lose weight," stop, take a deep breath, and remember this: Weight-loss may seem simple (eat fewer calories than you burn), but often, there's a lot more going on than a simple calorie equation. Our bodies aren't calculators after all!

What's more likely is that you've made some innocent mistakes in your quest to lose weight. Don't feel bad about it—it's extremely common. These bad habits may be preventing you from getting the results you want. Instead of giving up, make some of the smart changes and you'll see that scale drop in no time!

Good morning :) Great job everyone on your weight loss!!!!!
emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I am down 2 pounds this week for a total of 7 pounds for the month ~ Yay! Most importantly I am feeling good and have the routine now of eating healthy and working out. What a difference this past month and half has made. I've lost 19 pounds total since I started April 1st, with the help of Stormy's Challenges :) My clothes are fitting looser, I am getting stronger in my workouts, I have more energy, I am running again and I just feel overall good.

I am 3 pounds away from my goal for the month and also.... my first big weight loss goal I set for myself was to lose 10% of my starting body weight in 11 weeks = 22 pounds by June 16th. Those 3 pounds will also get me to that goal! That will be cool if I could end the month meeting the goal of this challenge and a personal goal as well :) We will see.....

5/01/15: 204 START
5/08/15: 201 (-3)
5/15/15: 199 (-2)
5/22/15: 197 (-2)
5/29/15:
6/01/15: GOAL = 194

Great job everyone!!!

I've lost 6.8# since May 1 so maybe, just maybe, I'll make that 10# goal. We'll see!

I WILL get a scale, ASAP, though I don't see it happening before we get home, lol... That'll be the first week of June. Meanwhile, I don't think I've lost anything, really. The clothes are looser than they were (that is, as of 1st May) but not loose enough that I'd comfortably go down a size.

I'm staying with the team even with the June challenge - we're home as of 10th June, then it's moving into the new flat. Somehow I don't see me having a regular routine for several weeks yet, but that doesn't mean I'm not trying to keep up with Stormy's exercise regimen, lol!

Good luck to you all - and congratulations, Stormy, you did fantastic!!!

Stormy ..thanks for the easy and sounds yummy recipe ..just might break loose and make that!

today was to be lunch and a movie..but we ended up skipping the movie..had a girls fest talk out instead..some new news some remember when stuff and then some serious stuff as one of the gals just found out this week her Mom has breast cancer. A reminder of the fact that we need to celebrate every day ..never know what tomorrow will bring!!

Had a great day enjoyed, shopped at one of the local Sally Shops and got me some new tops and a couple pair of pants. I love getting nice stuff for low dollar!!

Ate well and wisely...we had lunch at Soup R Salad and although they have added a bunch of not so slim stuff to their line I stuck to a yummy salad with all the fixings! I am one of the lucky ones that does indeed love salad!

Retirement is that time when you look around one day and question how the heck you ever got anything done when you were working..as it takes all your time to get 'er done now!
But indeed most of the time there is not the urgent..gotta get ready for work thing..so you can at least kinda do things in your time.

Ahh the rains are back..another week of this is what the forecast is saying..I do believe this is the wettest Spring I remember in Colorado in a long time if ever in my life time here!

Poor garden just ain't happening right now!

Headed to bed Nite ya'al and have a great tomorrow!

Hello, peeps! I'd say "Good morning" but it's well past 2 pm here, lol... Up and out early for breakfast, then painting... cleaning... moving furniture back and forth (it never seems to settle anywhere, just keep shuffling it around--!)... and the usual (dishes, post office, fueling up the car, yada yada).

I thought retirement was supposed to be... well, relaxing. Quiet. Almost luxuriously lazy. Seems to me it takes more time but there's less money. What was I doing all those years--?

I had a great day but busy. I think I worked too hard as I am exhausted. Jerry never made it over as he had school things to do to ensure he graduates. Probably just as well since I am so exhausted. Nutrition is good except on the weekends. I really need to have a stern talk with myself on the weekends about my eating. LOL

@ Katie - sorry to hear you had damage from a hail storm.

Damage was from a hail storm..really bad hail storm...beat up the house and the cars..but yep my lil green machine was totalled...sigh! I hate car shopping!! Got a toyota Highlander..hope the weather doesn't take a disliking to it!!

Got to get back on track..this past week, month has been roller coaster out of control crazy!

Our tracker on SP even has a slot for farm work..I use it to track my time when doing chores. On some days when it is clean the sheds and put down new straw and all that I am out there for at least 2 sometimes 3 hours and it is pretty steady work. So am glad to have a reference to draw from for calories burned!

Tomorrow is another crazy, but fun day...breakfast with ole work chums,,,then shopping with a buddy..then lunch with another group of friends and a movie...twill be a long and busy but very fun day! So will check back on Thursday after I catch my breath!!

KASEYCOFF, I spent Monday running errands as well. And today I paid for it. I spent today in and out of bed with a mega sinus headache and congestion. Awful. I hate taking meds for it so I'm saving OTC meds so I can sleep tonite. emoticon emoticon

And yes your house work and running around counts as EXERCISE.
SUPERACHIEVER, thanks for sharing your calculator. I checked it out.

KATIE , I am so sorry to hear about your car! I HOPE everyone was ok. No one hurt? I pray everyone was safe. I'm sure when everything settles down you will get back on track. I'm sure most of us are emotional eaters so we will forgive you this time for falling off the wagon. The best thing about tomorrow is that it's a new day and a new beginning.

KATIE ~ I am so sorry about your car! I hope that things start to turn around for you, you sound like you have had so much put on your shoulders at once. You will get back on track. Food can be comforting, but it can also make us uncomfortable when it makes us gain weight. Funny isn't it? You can do this :) Take care and tomorrow is a new day!

KACEY & SUPERACHIEVER ~ I like the way you guys look at housework! I don't track mine, but it is nice to know that the house is clean and calories are burning at the same time :)

Kasey, those household activities doe count as far as calories go. Go to the following link and you'll be able to add a calorie count to all of it. My housecleaning is always accounted for now and it helps me to keep on top of things (or at least try to keep on top of things). Here's the link. I use it all the time:

www.healthyweightforum.org/eng/calor
ie
-calculator.asp

I just got credit for hauling boxes up and down the stairs as I straightened up my home from all the clutter! You'll be surprised how quickly they all add up and they'll give you a different outlook on your housework. :)

Monday: errand day. Ran all over town to find the last bits we need to finish a built-in cabinet... folded a load of clothes... moved half the stuff out of the back bedroom (finally) so we have room to put the rug down (finally) and assemble the bed (finally).

If working like this resulted in major weight loss and toning, I wouldn't mind it near so much--!
