Okay, Val ... count me in. My goal will be to exercise at least 60 minutes six days a week. I normally take Sunday off or just do 30 minutes.

Yes, I would. My Dr. told me to exercise 5 days a week.

Okay, here's my suggestion. I will set up a thread called March[days of the week] every week with the participants' names on it. Then all you have do is copy the message, and add a check mark against your name for every day that you exercised 30 minutes. You just keep copy and pasting as the week moves on. [The check marks are on the emoticons, in case you've not seen them.] At the end of the week I will send a four leaf clover goodie to every person who achieved their own goal. So, set your goal--five days, six days. 30 minutes, 45 minutes. If anyone finds the cut and pasting confusing, just post that you did it and I'll update the chart.

Here's an example of what I mean:

Val - 30 mins 5 days per week emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Laneita 45 mins 6 days per week emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

This way, everyone can set their own goal and which days they want to exercise on. And the four leaf clovers will be a visible symbol of your success.

Everyone game for that?

Val

Okay, I'll give it another day to see who else responds and then set something up to be ready by March 1st.

I'm going to Flagstaff on Saturday and may not be logging in on Sunday or Monday but I'll make sure it's set up.

I'm in. My personal program requires 30 minutes of aerobics and 30 minutes of "something else" (yoga, strength training, or balance games on the Wii Fit) six days a week and on the seventh day a either rest or just do 30 minutes of aerobics. Maybe you can set up the challenge as a fitness challenge where everyone writes out their personal fitness goal for the month of March and checks in daily to report on whether or not they met their challenge for that particular day. That way people can work at their own pace yet be accountable to the team for their progress.

I am game too. I am already trying to do it. My Dr. told me to do 45 mins 5 days a week.

I like the idea but could we add bonus points for taking one rest day a week? Maybe on that day we could give points for 30 mins. of mental exercise.

I am up for anything.

How about a challenge for that "cruellest" month?
Exercising 30 minutes per day, 5 days per week?? Too easy, too hard? Anyone have an alternate suggestion?
