Happy Memorial Day, Beauties!

I can't believe it's our last weigh-in! Ahhhh!

But don't worry, our next seasonal challenge will start on June 1st. Once I get everyone's weigh-ins from today I will post all of the info and start a new thread.

Are you ready for the next challenge name?

Drum roll, please................

SIZZLIN' SUMMER HONEYS CHALLENGE

It will be from June through August! WooHoo!

But for this challenge....my weight loss was on a roller coaster for sure. I started at 320 lbs and my final goal was to get under 300. I thought I was well on my way after the first two weigh-ins and I was down to 315. Then life got in the way and I lost all focus. For the past 2 months I have been losing and gaining the same 5 lbs. As of this morning I am at 318. So that gives me a 2 lb loss for the duration of the challenge. Normally that would bring me down and make me want to quit...BUT NOT THIS TIME! It might only be a 2 lb loss, but it's still a loss and that's progress in my mind.

I have a lot more free-time and ME-time in the summer so I know I will be able to get myself back on track and kick butt! WooHoo!

I will take my after pic after I get ready for the cookout. Right now I am in my pjs and sweating from cleaning...not very attractive!

Final weigh-in completed didn't reach goal but will continue to work on it. I didn't post final pic to see if there were changes, but I do know clothes fit a little better. Looking forward to the next challenge to help keep me motivated and accountable.

Hey there, Beauties!

It's hard to believe this challenge is almost over! But don't worry... we will have another fabulous seasonal challenge coming up for June through August! Stay tuned for more details!

Since this is our last week as Blooming Beauties I think our final mini-challenge should be to post a blog with an "after" picture to compare to the "before" pics we posted in March.

My weight has been shifting up and down for the majority of this challenge, so I am curious to see if I look different. Remember, the numbers on the scale aren't the only way to measure success!

Sorry for my very delayed post! I've been struggling a bit. Have not been great at counting my calories or weighing, etc. My gym trips have been hit and miss. I need to find my positive zone again- because I know I will never reach my finish line without it.

Yay for all of you rocking your goals! I'm so proud of you! And for those of us who aren't quite there...it's okay, just don't give up!

Well, my weight is up again! My eating habits have been a roller coaster along with every twist and turn of stress in my life. With only one weigh-in left in this challenge, I am changing my final goal to be to stay under my challenge start weight. Right now I am teetering a little too closely to where I began and that scares me. So, my goal is to make sure I lost at least one pound throughout this challenge! But of course, more pounds lost will be accepted!

Hello there, Beauties!

Just a reminder that our next weigh-in day is TOMORROW! Also, don't forget to do a self breast examination for our mini-challenge in honor of Women's Check-up Day!

So, I have had a rough few months when it comes to consistency. I keep gaining and losing the same 4 lbs. It may be a roller coaster of frustration but I know it's because I'm not putting in the right amount of exercise while eating the right amount of food. I exercise on weeks that I eat too much, so it is not as effective. BUT, I am super glad that I am still remaining active and that I am still 20 something pounds lighter than my start weight for the year.

I am getting the details together for our next seasonal challenge! WooHoo! It will definitely be June through August. I wrote down all of your wonderful name ideas and will come up with a mixture of them and post about it soon. I don't know about the rest of you Beauties, but my life is so much less hectic in the summer (teacher perk) and I know I will be able to dedicate more time to ME and be able to set better goals on the challenge.

My mom has battled breast cancer twice and won both times! emoticon So it's extremely important for me to check in on the ladies quite often. Come on DONE girls let's All make sure we do this. Early detection is key and It doesn't take hardly any time at all!

OMG, I am such a dork!!! I completely forgot about this challenge for our last weigh in. emoticon

I finally got a new job and between my return to working full time and some other personal commitments I've had to put my computer time on the back burner and I just forgot about our weigh-in date.

I promise to be more mindful of the remaining dates and will do my best not to miss any more. Things have been at a stand still as far as my weight loss efforts go the last few weeks but I'm making a more concerted effort and hope to see some good results and end this challenge strong. I'm already looking forward to the next one too! emoticon

No loss this week for me, but no gain either...so I'm okay with that! I'm going to use today (a day at home with no work responsibilities) to prepare healthy food for the week, clean my house, maybe do some yard work, get in a great workout, and LAUGH!

Hello Beautiful Done Girl sisters!

I can't sleep so I figured I'd check in and see how everyone is; along with an update.

I just redid my overall goals both long term and short term on my start page. It was time for a revamp. I'm excited. I also just finished setting some mini goals for May. One is to do our weigh ins. Another is to get my butt to the Y at least 2-3 days a week. My fave things to do are the recumbent bike and water exercises.

Yaawn...I need some more zzzz's.

Welcome, HECKYAH! We're glad you have joined us!

So, I got all dressed up for work and feel super pretty and had all intentions of flirting with my new favorite coworker...and he's not here today! Ahhhhh! Well, he's in a meeting this morning and might be back this afternoon. We shall see!

Oh, and my 1st period students and I caught a mouse in my classroom. That is the most excited I've seen that group of teenagers all year! Nothing says good morning like an old fashioned game of the Catch the Mouse!

Hi Beauties!

Well April has not been my month to sparkle. I'm in a bit of a funk. I too have been rather lazy in my exercise; although some of it was due to fibro and fear of making the pain worse.

Anyhow I am still here and still have yet to get on the emoticon this month. I just have such a fear of sabotage. I promise I will weigh in for our next weight in. On a positive note I have had a non-scale victory. I have had a fave pair of jeans that just didn't fit anymore. Well I tried them on over the weekend & ta-da they FIT!! emoticon

Hey there, Beauties!

I hope you are all safe and dry in this crazy weather that's sweeping through! Only 5 more days until our next weigh-in on World Laughter Day!

I am loving all of these name ideas for our next challenge! I think we can come up with some creative names by combining your ideas! I love it!

So, here's my update! I have been in a weird, dazed, and lazy funk for a few weeks. I have not been diligent with my weight loss goals AT ALL. It's always in the back of my mind but I am not putting my thoughts into action. I like to blame it all on my busy schedule, but I know it's all me. I have been a lazy bum!

Oh, and here's something interesting. I have a crush on one of my coworkers! It will probably never become anything, but I do enjoy flirting and smiling! I'm hoping to take that good feeling and apply it to workouts and healthy food. Here's my idea: get back into healthy mode so my confidence will go back up. If I'm more confident I'll flirt more. And then maybe, just maybe, something could spring to life from that!

In scrolling back through the posts I missed I see that many of us are struggling a bit this month. I hope everyone will stick with it and just keep trying to make positive changes as we go. For myself, I know I'm going to fall very short of the original goals I set at the beginning of the challenge but I'm going to adjust my goals to where I am today and work towards meeting those new goals. Our Blooming Beauties journey will be over in a month, but don’t worry... I am already thinking of name ideas for our next seasonal challenge which will be June through August!

Sorry guys, I don't even know why I didn't post. I actually managed to stay on track even on Easter (which is a big deal in Greece) for the challenge but then I completely forgot about posting. I did very well until the challenge but then I ate everything I didn't eat on Easter. As a result, I've gained at least 5 pounds of water weight and probably some real weight, too. I just updated my chart, which is always on my laptop's screen. Just looking at it will force me to get back on track. emoticon

DOXISRCOOL: Sometimes it goes like that. Its so frustrating but doing all you are doing is really making you healthier. Have you taken measurements around your waist and thighs to see if youve lost inches? Are clothes fitting better...much more loose on you? All that walking Will build muscle, trust me. I am an avid walker and even though you may not see it, those muscles are getting toned. emoticon Good job! And keep up that awesome work! You'll see it reflected on the scale eventually, but for now be proud of the healthy habits you have developed.

Hi all,
I am taking on the mini challenge...and I got the 5 of clubs, 2 of hearts and 5 of diamonds. So 5 sets of jumping jacks, 5 sets of crunches and 2 sets of push ups it is. I've not done jumping jacks in a while so this should be interesting. LoL
I'll update when I get done. :)

Update: just got done...whew! OK, the crunches were no prob, I do those as part of my routine anyway. The push ups were hard, as I've not done floor pushups in a while and have been doing wall pushups, but I got through 2 sets. Now, as for those jumping jacks...omg those were Super Hard and much more than i bargained for. I got 1 set of 15 and 2 sets of 10 done so that ain't bad! I just added an extra set of crunches to make up for it. ---RK

Welcome new participants! WooHoo!
Wow, 390 squats! That's a lot. Maybe you should substitute one of those cards for another one! I know that would kill my legs and hips! But I'm glad you are joining us!

Yesterday I did my first real workout in several weeks. It was sparring in cardio boxing! It felt great, but today my arms and shoulders are SORE! But it's that good kind of sore! I plan to do some cardio today after track practice and keep up this momentum!

Well, I'm too full to exercise right now (chicken and veggie stir fry), but I decided to go ahead and pick my cards for the mini challenge....looks like I'll be doing 390 squats tomorrow! emoticon But I'm just thankful that I didn't get push-ups or jumping jacks! Haha. Man, I hope I'll be able to walk on Friday!! Hope everyone is having a great week! emoticon emoticon

Hey, Beauties! Who’s ready for our next mini-challenge? This one is definitely a physical one!

It’s the Deck of Cards workout! A former coworker told me about this and I have yet to try it but it seems like it could be fun/painful/effective!
Step 1: Shuffle a deck of cards
Step 2: Pick 3 cards randomly
Step 3: Do the activity associated with that suite, the number is the amount of sets you need to do.
A set is 15 reps
Heart: Push-ups
Diamond: Crunches
Spade: Squats
Club: Jumping Jacks
Jack, Queen, King, and Ace are all 10 sets

Ex: 4 of Hearts: do 4 sets of 15 push-ups
or
10 of Clubs: do 10 sets of 15 jumping jacks

You can tweak these activities to fit what you are able to do, easier or harder!

Try this out at least once this week and let us know how it went! I’m excited and scared to try this!

Only 8 more days until our next weigh-in!

Hey there, Beauties!

I’m so sorry I have been MIA lately. I have been busy getting quizzes and tests graded for the end of this nine-weeks! Plus track season is in full swing and we had our first home meet this past weekend which took up every minute of free time I had to make sure everything was ready! But it was great and worth all of the extra hours of work! Only 67 more days until summer break! Yes, I started my countdown way before my students!

I have done a few things for this week’s mini-challenge! I have worn something blue every day this month. Everything from shirts to jewelry to socks and underwear! I just updated my SparkPage and profile pic for April and they are both blue! At the track meet on Saturday the girls wore blue ribbons in their hair to help support Autism Awareness!

I hope everyone is having a great week! Time for me to grade some more tests! This stack of papers is never ending!

NARA87~ Sorry you had a rough day of it. No worries, we can not do great every day. I know myself; I would've been triggered by finding pizza and treats at my house. The main thing is that you move forward and do not beat yourself up. Just keep marching forward one step at a time.

Danielle~ emoticon job researching the bagel company and wearing blue nearly every day. That is wonderful.

I still haven't weighed in. I need to so I will at least know where I am at. Thank you everyone for your support.

I did wear blue one day this week. However, I didn't get to that blog about my brother that I had planned. I still will do it though. I did talk to my brother and he seemed in good spirits. My family doesn't understand all that he goes through, nor do they try to understand. (frustrating for both of us to say the least; especially him) I live 700 miles away, but we talk at least once a week and we offer each other support. (Our parents are deceased, so by family I am referring to aunts/uncles on mom's side that tend to some of his affairs)
