You know who Trevor reminds me of??? A young Jeff Gordon! And I think JG recognized that too... which is why he was so ready to take a chance on him in the Duels & help the kid learn how to not only "survive" at Daytona... but WIN!

I'm really glad that racing is finally back. Trevor is definitely going to have a great career ahead of him as he's obviously a talented young racer. I think he's going to be a lot of fun to watch.

There was much rejoicing!

It was a great race and Trevor earned it. He showed that he could keep up with the big boys all week and he gained the trust of the veterans. When I'm glad we have our racing back!

I was pretty bummed that Jeff got taken out of contention so early in the race, but I was very happy to have gotten everything that I'd wished for in this year's winner. If Jeff couldn't win (which was obvious pretty early on, thanks to that crash on lap 17) I wanted the winner to be someone who had never won the 500 before, and I also kind of wanted for the winner to be someone who had never won a race before. Well Bingo! I got both halves of that wish and I'm pretty happy about it. The race was pretty good...for a race that Jeff couldn't possibly win after lap 17, and the last 20 laps or so were really exciting. I'm not entirely fond of some of the changes in the rules over the last few years...but I really like the geen-white-checkers most of the time. emoticon

There was much rejoicing!

I am glad someone young won the race; anyone but Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick! I was
ESPECIALLY PROUD OF JUNIOR!! SINCE I AM HIS #1 FAN; He did REAL well until the 199th lap when he blew a tire
emoticon !!!!But I am ALWAYS behind him; and I felt bad for Jeff and Jimmie getting caught up in that wreck, but at least Junior was careful....THAT'S MY JUNBUG!!!!

....wow, Trevor Bayne has a future on the track! Just wish Jeff Gordon hadn't gotten caught up in that mess, he might have been up there with Trevor since they worked so well together. I am happy for the youngster since Jeff didn't win emoticon

I have to laugh about Danica in the Nationwide race, though, on Saturday.......she is not familiar with the two-car draft, and actually said on her radio (when Clint Bowyer was behind her)...."okay guys, now someone needs to tell me what to do next" haha.

Kurt Busch is going to move up into the pole position after Dale takes the "first lap" behind the pace car. Jeff will stay on the outside in 2nd.

Okay, I've got a really important (to me, anyway) question here...Now that Jr. has wrecked his primary car and will have to start at the back of the field, who will start on the pole on Sunday? Will Kurt Busch move up from the inside of the second row, or will Jeff Gordon move from 2nd to 1st since he was the other guy who qualified for the front row? I know that in "normal" races the driver who qualified for the inside of the second row would generally move up to the inside of the first row, but then qualifying for the front row of this race is special. So anybody know the answer...or do I have to wait till Sunday to find out for sure?

There was much rejoicing!

I'd love to see Jeff Gordon win... but he'll need a good partner to make that happen. I was very impressed w/ Trevor Bayne today... he did a fabulous job for being a rookie!

I sure hope it's Jeff's day...he hasn't had one of them for quite a while. However, what I'd really love to see is a winner who has never won the Daytona 500 before, especially if it was that driver's first win ever. One way or the other, I'm really hoping for an exciting race on Sunday.

There was much rejoicing!

This could be anyones race to win? Kurt Bush has it going but will he have a partner pushing him on Sunday. I'm amazed to see this type of racing with the 2 car packs breaking away. My pick I'd Junior to win as I've a fan for many years. However I have a feeling this may be Jeff Gordons' day.

True that they can't improve their starting position... but their finish today will help w/ pit selection, so it's still a little important.

I thought I was going to be able to be home to watch but alas, no. I did set the tivo just in case.
Jr & Truex have nothing to shoot for today. Because of the back up cars they cannot improve starting position for the 500 from last.

It's been a looooong off season and I'm ready for some racin'! One of the women I work with asked me if I could trade her Sunday the 20th for my Monday the 21st. I'll just bet you can all guess what my answer was to that one...

Hey Robbie. Where in NE? I'm originally from the big O and still have family there. I'm now in Charlotte "Where racing lives"

I think Roush or Childress wins the cup this year.

Anyone going to Bristol??
