I got another compliment tonight. My cousin and his wife flew in from Colorado, and a bunch of the cousins went to dinner. Jim came over after dinner to give me a hug, and he said "You're looking good!" Woo hoo!!! And the scales showed a 3 lbs loss this morning. I'm having a good day!

Congrats to all who made or exceeded their goals! WTG I've got to get on the stick again. I don't think I did too badly over the holiday weekend, but I'm afraid to get on the scales!! LOL However, yesterday I wore a pair of slacks I couldn't get into before.. They are a little snugger than I normally wear, but DH said they looked good on me. So, guess I am making progress, slowly.. I'll post my last couple days.

Congratulations to everyone that made it to the finishing line! This was an awesome challenge, it has really helped to set up some great habits.

I reached my goals, with the exception of water on 2 days, and fruit/veges on 1 day, and I lost 9 lbs more than I thought I would.

Thanks for setting this challenge up for us, can't wait for the next one.

Deb,

Congratulations on obtaining your goal.

We've been busy resurfacing our deck and I've been watching what I eat but not able to track it til the end of the day, so that is a new technique for me.
If I can eat right without having to write everything down when I'm busy then I'm picking up speed and having confidence in my decision making.
It's a very empowering feeling. So far so good!

I'll be back more often next week. Can't wait to see what my weigh in is this Thur.

We made it!!

I hit goal and established some really good habits...but they all go straight down the tubes on the actual holiday--like today!! I'm starting a "Summer Survival Strategies Challenge" with ideas to help us survive and thrive during all the special events of summer--the thread should be up by tonight.

PS--You're exactly right, Bev. We were going to eat and drink water and exercise to goal, till Memorial Day--to build the habit, I think. But it is disappointing that there's no prize!!

I'm planning to do a summer thing for travel and special occasions challenge--everything from vacation to a day at the lake, celebrations, barbecues. It's a challenge to use 4 different tools for healthy living when we have a special event--they really throw a lot of us off, including me! I'll send out an e-mail to the team and explain it more Memorial Day weekend. But I intend for it to help us apply all we have learned in difficult situations.

And I think we all get a big woo-hoo for keeping up with it so doggone well!!

Ok, so I haven't been posting my progress like you all have.. but I have reached my memorial day goal.. I had a few slip ups with dinners out and bad eating days (which caused me to gain a few). But, I've been in control for the last little while, and it feels good!

I had water today! You must have just missed it. I also had iced tea, a root beer float, and a Wallaby Darned... I know the last two items aren't "legal", but the place where we go for the floats opens on Mothers Day every year, and we always go. I got a small. And the Wallaby Darned was just because I haven't had one in over a year, and they are so good.... And on that note, I think I'll trek to the bathroom - again- , check my numbers, and go to bed. Today was my first attempt at living as if I was in maintenance. I went to a luncheon, and then to a bar-b-que last night. I overate on the desserts, which is my old problem, so I see there's work to be done! I did focus on fruit, but there aren't many veggies to choose at a party.

Calories were 250 over the top of my losing range. I don't know where my mainennance range will be, so I'm not sure how far over that really is.

Thanks!! I planted some tomato, cucumber and bell pepper plants, and it rained the next day.. I was happy for the rain to get them started. Also good veggies to have later.

I have a question about the weight thing on this. I changed my goal, but I see that it's still showing goal weight at the end.. I saved it, but it's not starting over. How do I fix that?

OK, 5/8. Two days away from our three month anniversary week!!

Ok Beachdreams.. I think I can do this.
I just got here so I'll start for yesterday. I have a question also.. For the past 2 days, I did so much outside work that I hadn't done in ages. I dug grass up by the roots, that I wasn't able to do last year. Four hours on Tuesday, then four hours yesterday finishing it up. It was hard to do exercise after that. Would you count those things, and not try to exericise when you do strenious work?

emoticon That was great--Joy, that really and honestly DID make me laugh out loud!!

I think we've been abandoned on this island--the person who started this has only been by once, and that was a long time ago!! (No criticism--we're grown-ups, we can take care of ourselves!!) emoticon

There are just the three or four of us left--and you're right--it's like a game where we forgot the original message!!

But you know, it does help to keep track of our fruits and veggies, and our water and walking, and if that's not what the challenge was when it started--well, it is now!! And that's great!

Can we make it till Memorial Day? We've made it till May--we're almost there! I hate to quit now that we've come so far!!

PS--Joy--I loved the part, in the other thread, about your pants getting longer and needing to shop! I have hopes of turning lose and doing a bit of that myself, very soon!


But what does CRS mean? It took me a month to figure out DH really was dear husband (at least I hope it is) and everyone but me knows it!! AAAHHHH!!! I just figured it out!! Now you've got me laughing again!!
