I too am pretty consistent with 8, and often as many as 10 glasses of cold, crisp, refreshing water it's gotten to a point where I get parched and have a dry cough if I talk too long without drinking water!!

Definitely up for this challenge. I've been pretty good so far with at least 8 a day. The whole family got sick this week - but not me - I think it was because of all the fluids I was taking in.

I just start out with a 16oz bottle of water in the morning, and keep refilling it all day. I have one by my computer at work and one at home. Every time I empty the bottle, that's another 2 glasses!

Krista - it WILL get better, trust me. It takes a couple weeks for your body to adjust - sometimes 3 or 4 - but it does get better!

I have to admit since I was sick last week that I'm not doing so well with my water lately. I'm starting in again today though because I feel quite a bit better now.

I just saw this post, I'm up for the challenge. I posted earlier about not being able to do it as I was drinking 2 glasses and peeing all day... Well woohoo I'm up to 6 glasses... YAY me, and I am still peeing all day.... Oh well, if that is the price to pay to be healthy and lose weight, I can get used to it.

NeonMeow, I do that too! I have my glass/bottle of water next to my keyboard and I just reach for the glass and take a swig without even realizing it.

I'm not a huge fan of water, but I am settling in to drinking 8 glasses/day... here's how I do it.

I have a 500ml (2 cup) water bottle. Short and squat, it's small enough so it doesn't look so big I don't want to drink it. When I'm at work I fill it up in the morning, drink it between starting/morning coffee - fill again at morning coffee, drink between coffee/lunch and then do it right after lunch/afternoon coffee and there I go - 8 glasses. If I don't finish it I will have a couple glasses at night when I get home. I don't notice I'm drinking water when I'm working, I just keep it beside me (I have a desk job) and I pick it up and drink without even thinking.

When I'm at home, I have a few tall, slender glasses which hold 1.5 cups each, drinking one of those seems like less than a shorter fat glass holding the same.

For me, it's all in the size of the container... the illusion of it being smaller than it really is helps me to down them like no one's business... try to get containers that hold 1.5 to 2 cups each but no more, otherwise it gets warm and seems really daunting - hopefully that will work for some of you like it has for me :)

Okay, I'm in.

I like the green tea mixes...I think Lipton makes them; 0 calories, great flavors. But I mix them a little on the weak side because they're so sweet...too sweet even for me and I'm notorious for my sweet tooth.

Simplie_Sweetie, do you like flavored waters like Propel? A friend of mine told me this great tip-since Propel is so concentrated, squirt some of it into your glass of water so that way you're getting some flavoring, as well as less calories. :)

It's so great to see people who have the same goals!

As soon as I got engaged, that was the first thing that I started doing-drinking my full 8 servings of water. Don't you find that when you are drinking primarily water, that's what you crave later?

So far for today, 6 servings down the hatch!

When I first started Sp I had a hard time with water. What helps me is the following:
Dirnk a glass time I get up in the morning
drink a glass with breakfast
I have my 32 oz bottle of water with me at work to sip on. I uasually finish around lunch.
I refill my 32 oz bottle after lunch and finsh it around 5 or 6

I'm in and am right on! I am on my 4th 16 oz bottle of water... The only bad thing is having to go to the bathroom when I am teaching and not being able to go!

Ive been drinking water like a champ....
i'm up to 6 full glasses already, an its only 4p.m. I have hours to go!!! (I do have to find time to track my water and food) It'll all fall into place soon. Keep up the good work!!!

Feeling overwhelmed by the prospect of drinking 8 tall glasses of water is how i started drinking fom four oz. cups. It's not as tough to down 2 four oz.cups of water as it is to look at tall 8 oz. glass.

My goal is to drink 96oz (12 - 8oz cups) of water a day. Being that I am 6'4" and tend to sweat more than most people, water is critical to me. 3/4 gallon a day is really not that much water if you continually drink throughout the day.

Drinking water is the one thing I am good at. I work at home as a child care provider with infants and toddlers. I keep a 4 oz. cup in the bathroom and drink 4oz every time I'm in the bathroom.(which is quite often considering the amount of water I drink and all the hand washing that goes on around here every day) That water is beside the tall glasses I drink with meals and snacks.

I am up for the water challenge. I think I do pretty good at this but usually do not keep track. I gave up soda a year ago. I do need to work on keeping water with me at all times(when on computer, driving and at work) because I get very thirsty sometimes.

for the first challenge as a team will be a water challenge to clean out our bodies. For this challenge let's focus on drinking 8 glasses of water a day. If you drink less then 8 glasses a day try to increase the amount of water you drink by one glass each day. Who up to the chllenge!
