The last crafty things I bought were scrapbook adhesive and clearance stickers. I bought the adhesive because I didn't want to run out and not have any on hand and the stickers because they were on clearance. The stickers were 4th of July fireworks and I have been working on my Disney album and I know I have firework pictures.

Have a Blessed day!

I scored big time at a yard sale! I got 3 Stampin' Up ink pads (all with refills) and a Stampin' Up stamp set for $17!

The last crafty thing I bought in a store was a shopping spree to Archivers. The closest one to me is 2 hours away, so there's no way I can narrow down what I bought! Let's just say 1 of everything!

I bought the new In Colors of ink, cardstock and markers from Stampin' Up! so I could see what they were like. I'll use them in my next craft class preparation.

I know I did crafts for Sunday School and VBS...but what I love now is sewing.

Mom helped me sew two skirts to take to boarding school during the summer when I turned 10.
and sewing emoticon has been exciting ever since.

Can't remember doing crafts when I was little- though I'm sure I did. But what I do remember is when my foster parents got me around 8-9 years old - whenever I got sick - Mom would bring out the embroidery stuff and I learned how to embroider. That was fun and helped the time go quickly till I was out of bed and well. I almost looked forward to getting sick!

I'm loving reading your responses ladies!

The first craft I remember doing is a project in Kindergarten similar to the plaster/clay hand prints, but this was paint. Then we "stamped" our hand onto a doily which was added to a poem on a piece of construction (?) paper and then laminated.

(The poem:
"Sometimes you get discouraged
Because I am so small,
And always leave my fingerprints
On furniture and walls.
But everyday I'm growing,
I'll be grown up someday,
And all these tiny handprints
Will simply fade away.
So here's a final handprint
Just so you can recall,
Exactly how my fingers looked
When I was very small.")

My first project was probably in art class at school, but I never enjoyed them because I can't draw and to me art is drawing. So the first project I remember learning and truly enjoying was when I was about 9 and my mom taught me to cross stitch. I loved being able to do what she did and I still cross stitch to this day.

Have a Blessed day!

I was 8 yrs. old and my friend gave me an empty spool with 4 tiny nails on top. You wrapped your yarn around the nails and with some tool {I can't remember what it was} you somehow over lapped your yarn from one nail to another and it became this amazing knitted worm like thing going down through the hole of the spool. I could make mine 20 ft. long but I never knew what to do with it.

My cousin taught me to knit when I was 5 and she was 20. She made doll dresses and I still have my first attempt. It is quite amusing...

When I visited her a few years ago out west we worked on a crocheted afghan together - we made squares. Nice to have such a great cousin who is now in her 70s. Seems like yesterday when she taught me.

I have a new pressed clay mold, but no pressed clay! I think it will be easy to use once I get that clay. I plan to play with different ways of colouring the clay before it is pressed and after it is dry.

Talking with my sis-in-law this evening, she wants to start carving on walking sticks... I LOVE woodcarving, took a class when I lived in Alaska, and it's very compelling! I LOVE working with wood, but I left all my carving tools with my son who is still in Alaska... Guess it's time to go buy a good pocket knife, and start from scratch again... :)

Blessings, Lyn

I haven't gotten a new tool in a long time. I've gotten new supplies, but not a new tool per say. I need a new paper cutter, though. Mine leaves a slight chewed up, uneven edge on thicker paper.

Hello everyone-
I am just starting back with spark today after about 2 1/2 years away. During my absence I have learned to quilt so I am working on some table runners right now. I am making one of them as a Christmas gift for a friend and the other for myself. I also finished a baby quilt for my "almost here" granddaughter. I love to craft and have been making things since I was in elementary school.

This weeks question comes from COUZCAT~

Q: what tool sits on the shelf collecting dust?

A: just about everything these days emoticon . Yesterday, however, I grabbed my sketch book and sat in the sun drawing out some "quilt" ideas....they may never be made into a quilt, but I enjoyed sketching them!
