You are lucky to see temps in the 40's rather than the 20's and 30's. But again, it all depends on what state you happen to live in, even what 'part' of the state can make a big difference. I live in the Southern part of AZ in the winter, and our temps typically run to a low of 40 and a high of 80. Sounds like summer to a lot of people. I like it, apparently so do the snowbirds.

So many of our members are handling temperatures of 1F, 9F and other really low numbers, and I remember my childhood years in Minnesota. Do not regret moving one little bit. Each person has their own reason for living where they do, and it could involve being around family, it's where you work, or some other reason. To me, putting up with temps like those cold ones, would be hard to justify being around family. I'd rather just hop on a plane and go visit them than to torture myself by living through an entire winter freezing cold.

I am so surprise with our weather no snow except once and it came during the night and during the day it melted well the cars make it melt......snow plow cleaned road to make them drivable, I still decided to stay in for the few days it was here. Has snowed again just cold weather. Doesn't seem to want to get over the 40's......but sure beats the 20 and 30's we had for so long. This is nice weather but still cold. Mt. Hood sure look pretty but it can keep the snow.....I warp up to do my walks

I guess it all depends on where you choose to live. Or maybe if you didn't "choose" it, it is where you live regardless. I spent most of my childhood in Minnesota. I knew when I grew up and married I wanted to be out of the extremely cold weather -- so I moved. I lived in California for a number of years. But then because of my husband's work, we moved to Japan for 3 years. When the time was up we decided not to move back to CA for a number of reasons.

I think when a person retires they can live in just about any state they choose. I do not think I would be happy with a state that has piles of snow in the winter. And we all choose the state we are in for various reasons.

It was 27F when we drove to Yarnell yesterday, once the sun comes out it warms it up quite a lot. it really wasn't that bad sitting on one of the boulders looking down on the people working on our lot -- would have been nice to have had a warm thick blanket to sit on, but who thinks of everything? This winter has been mild so far -- haven't seen any snow up there, so hoping the work will move right along. Once it's looking more like a building I'll feel better.

Baby, it's COLD outside! I can't believe I am in TX, we are not supposed to get this cold. 28 with freezing rain. Could it get more miserable? And of course, with that kid of weather you crave "comfort foods"....I'm ready for Spring!
