The other day I slipped into a pair of my really OLD jeans and they were so baggy on me I decided to look at the size, I was sure they must be size 14. But when I looked I saw they were size 12 Petite. Wow! I guess I really am down to a size 10 now. Guess it's time to go through my closet again and see what fits, what doesn't, what can be fixed easily -- and toss what I can't fix. More closet space and it boosts my confidence!

Trying to find the silver lining in all the clouds!

My exercise minutes today turned out to be a bit of a surprise for me. I started out the day thinking maybe I'd have a more relaxing day and take a bit of an exercise break. I've been trying to log 500 calories a day and when all you're doing is low impact exercises it's pretty time consuming. So today I thought, "I'll just do my 38 minute Wii Fit routine, that doesn't take too long." When that was done I thought, maybe Wii Fit Island Run would add a few more calories and it only takes about 5 more minutes. Then I discovered the unopened Wii Sports discs that came with my Wii Fit (3 years ago) and thought, maybe I'll try tennis. I did, I hated it so I tried baseball. Hated it more. I'm not a sports fan, even the virtual kind evidently but it gave me a few more minutes. I was finally ready to call it quits and my husband said, "I think I'll go for a short bike ride, want to come with me?". Why not? My calorie burned total for the day ended up being 510.

Today I finally put together one walk that was over 5 miles. It was 5.3 to be exact, and that was before my cooldown.

Has anyone else had something wonderful happen lately?

Thank you for the explanation. I had some but didn't know what they were called. My slacks can button and zip and stay that way all day. Yay!

Non-scale victories - like measurement or behavior changes. New clothing size. Discovering that exercise became something other than work. (Still waiting for THAT to happen). Or whatever feels like a victory to you in this journey called life.

Since it's easy for the scales to get "stuck" (plateau) or even "broken" (gain) at this time of year, let's cheer each other on with NSVs.

I shared one on my status update today. Seriously, sampling while I cook has long been a problem for me. (And I'm not talking about legitimate TASTES in order to adjust seasoning. Too often I have eaten one or more servings of something before it ever reaches the table. I really enjoy a strip of bacon crumbled into salad, omelettes, soups, or as a baked potato topping. I haven't done any of that in weeks, because I tend to eat 2-4 strips of what I cook. And I don't like to buy what's allegedly crumbled bacon bits.

I cook the bacon right after supper, with a glass of flavored/carbonated no-cal water to sip at very time I turned my bacon and was tempted to snitch some. And the entire 8 strips went into the fridge and have stayed there.

This is HUGE for me! emoticon
